Abstract

Abstract - Sesuruhan plants (Piper aduncum) and messengers (Piperomia pellucida) is a species of Piperaceae familia members. Both of these plant species containing antifungal compounds include: tannins, flavonoids, and saponins. Candida albicans is a yeast causing vaginal discharge disease. Antifungal potential of ethanol extract of the plant, particularly against C. albicans in vitro testing needs. The purpose of this study is to: 1) examine the effect of ethanol extract of leaves sesuruhan in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro; 2) examine the effect of ethanol extract of leaves of messengers in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro; 3) determine the most effective concentration of the ethanol extract of leaves and leaf sesuruhan messengers in some kind of concentration to inhibit the growth of C. albicans in vitro. Extracts of both species was obtained by maceration method with 95% ethanol, followed by sterile filtration and evaporation of the filtrate thus obtained. Filtrate was diluted in 10 concentration levels, namely: 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, and 90%. Testing the two kinds of power antifungal leaf species was conducted using agar diffusion technique of pitting on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium that has been inoculated with C. albicans. Measurement of C. albicans growth inhibitory zone performed after an incubation period of 1x24 hours. The results of this study are: 1) There is no effect of ethanol extract of leaves sesuruhan in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro. The higher the concentration of the ethanol extract of the leaves sesuruhan increasing inhibition of growth of C. albicans; 2) There is no effect of ethanol extract of leaves of messengers in some sort of concentration on the inhibition of growth of C. albicans in vitro. The higher the concentration of the ethanol extract of the leaves of messengers increasing inhibition of growth of C. albicans; 3) Ethanol extract of leaves and leaf sesuruhan errand at a concentration of 80% was the most effective concentration to inhibit the growth of C. albicans in vitro.  Keywords: antifungal power, Piper aduncum leaves, leaf Piperomia pellucida, Candida albicans

Abstract

Perairan Cilincing merupakan salah satu wilayah Pesisir DKI Jakarta dengan tekanan lingkungan yang terus meningkat. Masukan limbah yang berasal dari aktivitas antropogenik semakin mengkhawatirkan kondisi perairan di wilayah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status pencemaran di Perairan Cilincing, Pesisir DKI Jakarta. Pengukuran parameter fisika-kimia air dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan pada standar baku mutu yang digunakan yaitu mengacu pada Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 51 Tahun 2004 tentang  baku mutu air laut untuk keperluan biota laut. Analisis status pencemaran didekati dengan  menggunakan metode STORET yang terdapat pada Lampiran II Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 115 Tahun 2003 tentang pedoman penentuan status mutu air. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa status pencemaran di Perairan Cilincing tergolong tercemar sedang dengan kadar DO, COD dan BOD telah melampaui baku mutu berdasarkan pada Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 51 Tahun 2004 tentang  baku mutu air laut untuk keperluan biota laut.

Abstract

ABSTRAKBelum optimalnya hasil belajar dan prestasi siswa dalam mata pelajaran biologi mengindikasikan bahwa masih rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memaharni konsep-konsep biologi dikarenakan siswa masih mengalami hambatan dalam belajar. Meski pengembangan strategi pembelajaran biologi melalui penerapan berbagai model pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif telah banyak dilakukan oleh guru, namun hasilnya cenderung belum efektif. Rendahnya efektivitas inovasi pengembangan rancangan model pembelajaran biologi umumnya mengabaikan prinsip-prinsip perancangan pembelajaran yang mengacu pada pengembangan potensi peserta didik secara optimal seperti yang diamanatkan dalam KTSP 2006.Kecerdasan multiple intelligence merupakan potensi yang dimiliki peserta didik meliputi kecerdasan: logika matematika, linguistik (bahasa), spasial (ruang/bidang), kinestetik, musikal, interpersonal, dan intrapersonal, naturalis dan eksistensial selama ini belum banyak dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran. Oleh karenanya dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam pembuatan rancangan model pembelajaran biologi.Mind Map merupakan petrbelajaran inovatif yang selain memiliki beberapa karakteristik keunggulan yang sangat relevan dengan pembelajaran biologi, juga memungkinkan untuk dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kecerdasan multiple intelligence peserta didik. Oleh karenanya kepada guru biologi perlu memahami mekanisme kerja otak dalam melakukan pemrosesan Informasi ketika belajar untuk acuan dalam membuat rancangan model perrrbelajaran biologi yang efektif sebagai solusi terhadap hambatan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep-konsep biologi agar hasil belajar dapat lebih optimal.Kata kunci: Rancangan model pembelajaran biologi, multiple intelligence, Mind Map, kualitas pembelajaran, profesionalisme guru.

Abstract

Students need critical thinking skills for their future life. This is by 21st-century learning and government mandates. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of critical thinking skills of students in SMA Batik 1 Surakarta. The research method is descriptive quantitative. Data collection was carried out by observation through critical thinking skills tests. The test instrument consists of 4 biological problems that require solving with indicators of critical thinking skills from Ennis in terms of questioning skills, drawing conclusions, evaluating, presenting reasons, and analysis. Retrieval of data on class XI-MIPA students as many as 206 students. The scoring results are converted to test result scores. The results of the study concluded that the profile of students' critical thinking skills with an average score of 55.4 with the basic level category. Skills to arrange student questions on basic level criteria, with an average score of 2.1. Skills to arrange students' reasons on the basic level criteria, with an average score of 2.4. Skills to conclude students on basic level criteria, with an average score of 2.0. Skills to arrange relationships between one data and another data students are at the advanced level criteria, with an average score of 2.6. Student evaluation skills at the basic level criteria, with an average score of 2.5

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the ability of high school biology teacher in preparing authentic assessment as the evaluation of learning. This study is a descriptive study using a non-hypothetical survey approach, data collection techniques with documentary studies and interviews. Data obtained in the form of assessment instruments that have been developed odd semester of high school biology teachers of the school year 2013/2014. Data already collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the research results of the preparation of the percentage of authentic instruments in a biology teacher lesson plan (RPP) is a high school teacher for assessment observation A (69.6%), description of assessment (45%), assessment assignment tests (54.2%), performance assessment ( 70.8%), assessment of the project (75%), portfolio assessment (75%), teacher B for a description assessment (55%) and project assessment (25%), whereas for C teacher observation assessment (50%), option valuation double (39%), assessment descriptions (37%), as well as evaluating the project (33.3%). Percentage capabilities suitability preparation of authentic instruments with standardized criteria in high school biology teachers in the odd semester of school year 2013/2014 is the preparation that do not fit the criteria of a teacher (53.5%), teacher B (92.03%) and teachers C (80.75%), while the corresponding criteria for the preparation of a teacher (46.5%), teacher B (7.97%) and teacher C (19.25%). Generally cause the preparation of an assessment instrument discrepancy is the format used in the assessment rubric high school has not been uniform in practice and not all teachers know the assessment items that must be used. Keywords: ability of teachers, authentic assessment, evaluation of learning

Abstract

Transportation grows rapidly along with high population growth. This sector has become an essential requirement for mobility and strongly supports the economy. In the period 2012-2016 the number of residents in Yogyakarta City increased by 23,732. This is accompanied by an increase of motor vehicles as much as 90,798 units. The number of motor vehicles correlates to fuel consumption. In 2012, fuel consumption in this city was recorded 107,089,000 liters and became 115,337,000 liters in 2017. Emissions resulting from fuel combustion by motor vehicles have an impact on the environment. The transport sector is known to contribute 70% of air pollution. Air pollution affects public health because it can trigger and/or aggravate some diseases, i.e. acute respiratory infections, cough, bronchitis, pneumonia, and eye irritation. This paper was written to determine the condition of air quality in Yogyakarta City as well as the opportunity of air pollution control using environmental tax. It is described descriptively based on data, literature, legal regulations, and prior research. Several ways have been done to control air pollution from mobile sources, but have not done from the economic side. Therefore it is necessary to develop environmental economic instruments. One of them is the study of environmental tax. This kind of study is expected to be an input for air pollution control.

Abstract

Abstract- Oyster mushroom is one of the edible mushrooms consumed by people because it contains high protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, low carbohydrates, fat and calories. The Content of bagasse are carbons, hydrogens,oxygens, crude proteins, crude fibers, hemicelluloses,  celluloses,  lignins. The content of  banana peelss are water, proteins, carbohydrate, phosphorus; calcium; vitamin B and C. The Purpose of this research was to determine the growth and yield of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) on the different composition of sawdust, bagasse and banana peelss as the planting medium. This research is an experimental study using single factor completely randomized design consisting of five treatments: A0 (960 g sawdust, without bagasse and banana peelss), A1(930 g sawdust, 15 g bagasse and 15 g banana peelss), A2 (935 g sawdust, 15 g bagasse and 10 g banana peels), A3(920 g sawdust, 25 g bagasse and 15 g banana peelss) dan A4 (925 g sawdust, 25 g bagasse and 10 g banana peelss),3 replicates of each treatment. Data analysis used was One Way Anova test with a significance level of 0,05. The results showed that the best medium composition of 920 g sawdust, 25 g bagasse and 15 g banana peelss (A3) significantly affected the growth of oyster mushroom mycelium (29 days), the number of oyster mushroom fruit bodies (10.67 fruits at harvest I and 10.33 fruits at harvest II) and the fresh weight of oyster mushroom fruit bodies (106.67 g at harvest I and 86.67 g at harvest II).                                                                                                               Keywords : Pleurotus ostreatus, sawdust, bagasse, banana peelss.

Abstract

Pesatnya peningkatan penggunaan kendaraan bermotor di area kampus memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap munculnya pencemaran di suatu wilayah. Emisi yang dikeluarkan oleh masing – masing kendaraan menimbulkan akumulasi pencemar di udara. Untuk melakukan pengukuran terhadapkualitas  lingkungan membutuhkan waktu dan biaya yang sangat mahal. Ada alternatif pengukuran dengan menggunakan indikator hidup yang dinamakan bioindikator yang menggunakan mahluk hidup. Lichen atau lumut kerak merupakan organisme yang selama ini digunakan sebagai bioindikator kualitas udara.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi lichen yang terdapat di sekitar kawasan kampus UMS. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan eksploratif melalui penjelajahan. Pengambilan sampel lichen menggunakan teknik purpossive sampling. Pemilihan lokasi pengambilan sampel dibagi menjadi 5 stasiun yaitu 1) Kampus 1; 2) Kampus 2; 3) Asrama mahasiswa (Pesma Mas Mansyur); 4) Pemukiman 1 (Ds.Gonilam) dan 5) Pemukiman 2 (sekitar lapangan bola Ds. Gonilan). Data yang didapat dianalisis dengan membandingkan gambar dan koloni lichen dengan beberapa buku pegangan (guide’s book) kemudian menentukan spesies. Emisi kendaraan  yang diukur menghitung jumlah seluruh kendaraan di setiap stasiun. Persentase lichen yang didapat paling tinggi di stasiun 4 yaitu  Pemukiman 1 (Ds. Gonilan) 48.3 % dan terendah 16.3 % di stasiun 5(Pemukiman 2 sekitar lapangan bola Ds. Gonilan). Diameter koloni lichen yang paling rendah yaitu 4.6 cm berada di stasiun 1 (Kampus 1) dan yang tertinggi 5.3 cm di Pemukiman 2 (sekitar lapangan bola Ds. Gonilan). Spesies lichen yang di temui berasal dari genus Dirinaria yaitu Dirinaria picta dan D. applanata; Physcia; Xanthomendoza; Pyxine cocoes. Sedikitnya jumlah lichen yang ditemui mengindikasikan bahwa di daerah tersebut sudah terjadi pencemaran udara. Keywords:      lichen, bioindikator, polutan, lumut kerak, kampus UMS

Abstract

The aim of this research is profiling the use of e-portfolios within metacognition based science learning to improve 21st century skills. Profiling is done through observation towards: 1) students’ metacognition awareness, 2) understanding of portfolio and e-portfolio, 3) administrative tasks, 4) process of giving tasks from lecturer. The samples in this study are four lecturers and eighty-seven students of FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Madiun. The instrument that used is questionnaire. The data are analyzed with descriptive qualitative using triangulation and strengthening of reference. The results of the study inform; 1) students’ metacognition awareness is in low at 55,17%, 2) students’ understanding about the portfolio and e-portfolio is still low at 57,47% dan 62,07%, which is inversely proportional to the ability of IT by 86.20%, 2) 35.48% students file neatly the assignment in softcopy, 3) two of four lecturers familiarize students to upload the assignments via internet. Based on needs analysis, it is required to use e-portfolio software with the basis of metacognition to support the lecture, in order to improve 21st century skills for students.    Keywords:   needs analysis, e-portofolio, metacognition, 21st century skills

Abstract

This research is aimed to: 1) Developing module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter; 2) Find out whether or not the use of module based on ARIAS learning model is appropriate to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter; 3) Find out the effectiveness of module based on ARIAS learning model usage towards students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter. This study belongs to Research and Development referring to Borg dan Gall. Scheme of the module was developed into Module Draft 1. Module Draft I was validated by experts and practitioner based on content appropriateness, language, presentation, graph, base of ARIAS learning model, students’ learning motivation and critical thinking. The module was then tried out in small sample of 10 students in SMA N Kebakkramat. After revising the module based on suggestions from small scale test, the researcher revised the module into Draft II. The researcher used Module Draft II in real test on 36 students of class X-8 in SMA N Kebakkramat. The effectiveness of module towards students’ learning achievement, motivation and critical thinking was analyzed using gain score that was normalized for pre-test and post-test in the real test class. The module was then revised again into final product and was distributed to be widely developed. Results of the research are: 1) Module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter is developed in Research and Development refering to Borg dan Gall; 2) Quality of module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter belongs to Excellent Category in content appropriateness, language, presentation, graph and syntax of ARIAS learning model, it also shows Good Category in motivation and critical thinking appropriateness based on experts and practitioners; 3) Module based on ARIAS learning model to improve students’ learning motivation and critical thinking in ecosystem matter is effective in improving students’ learning motivation having N-gain score for 0.51 and is effective to improve students’ critical thinking having N-gain score for 0.60 in Medium Category. Keywords: Research and development, module, model, ARIAS, motivation, critical thinking
