Abstract

Tanaman melon (Cucumis melo  L.) merupakan tanaman pertanian yang banyak dibudidayakan untuk konsumsi buahnya. Salah satu permasalahan dalam budidaya melon adalah benih yang diperoleh secara impor sehingga harganya relatif mahal. Perakitan kultivar MelodiGama 3 (MG3) merupakan strategi untuk mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap benih impor. Kultivar MG3 merupakan hasil persilangan antara kultivar ♀ MG1 dengan ♂ La-3 (tahun 2011). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan adaptasi kultivar MG3 terhadap kondisi lingkungan pada musim kemarau (tahun 2012) dan musim penghujan (tahun 2013) dan mengamati kestabilan kultivar MG3 di kedua musim tersebut di demplot milik Kebun Pendidikan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian (KP4) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa karakter melon MG3 dari penanaman musim penghujan umumnya lebih unggul daripada penanaman musim kemarau. Melon MG3 penanaman musim penghujan unggul pada karakter berat buah, keliling buah, ukuran buah, dan berat biji. Namun terdapat penurunan karakter unggul yaitu tingkat kemanisan (brix) dari 11,53% menjadi 9,98%. Hasil tersebut terjadi karena musim penghujan yang mempengaruhi kadar air dalam buah sehingga tingkat kemanisanya menurun. Kata kunci: MG3, Karakter Fenotip, Pemuliaan Tanaman

Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran biologi yaitu dengan mengajarkan kepada siswa tentang berpikir kritis. Berpikir kritis yang dilatihkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: kemampuan merumuskan masalah, memberikan argumen, melakukan deduksi, melakukan induksi, dan melakukan evaluasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu dan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar dan  respons siswa terhadap penerapan perangkat pembelajaran pada materi pencemaran dan pelestarian lingkungan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan one shot case study design. Sasaran penelitian adalah 36 siswa Kelas X-5 SMA Negeri 3 Kediri. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penerapan perangkat pembelajaran dapat melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dari ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 80,5%. Sebagian besar siswa memberikan respons positif dan menganggap baru terhadap perangkat  pembelajaran yang digunakan guru. Kata Kunci : ketuntasan hasil belajar, berpikir kritis, pencemaran dan pelestarian lingkungan

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakteristik masyarakat dalam hal ini petani di Daerah Aliran Sungai Keduang dan peran sertanya dalam pengelolaan daerah aliran sungai. Karakteristik petani meliputi tingkat pendidikan, tingkat pendapatan dan luas lahan garapan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah masyarakat yang berada di wilayah Sub DAS Keduang atau melewati jalur sungai DAS dan menjadi anggota Kelompok Konservasi Tanah dan Air (KKTA) di wilayah Desa Gemawang Kecamatan Ngadirojo, Desa Sambirejo Kecamatan Jatisrono, Desa Pingkuk Kecamatan Jatiroto, Desa Sukoboyo Kecamatan Slogohimo dan Desa Sembukan Kecamatan Sidoharjo. Sedangkan sampel data diambil dari 5 kecamatan tersebut secara random. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis secara kualitatif. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa karakteristik petani di Daerah Aliran Sungai keduang secara umum memiliki tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan yang rendah. Sedangkan lahan garapan mayoritas digunakan sebagai lahan persawahan. Peran serta masyarakat ditingkatkan dengan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan.   Kata Kunci: peran serta masyarakat, pengelolaan daerah aliran sungai Keduang

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of peer assessment in assessing the performance ability of students in Biology lab activities. Method in this research is descriptive method. The research was  conduct  in three schools : two schools at the junior high school and one school at the senior high school level. The material of  lab activities  are characteristics of living things and the pollution of soil in Junior high school and  water pollution in senior high school. In three class sample application of peer assessment conducted through mutual judging between friends in one group. Everyone in the group assessed by at least two of the group's friends. The assessment was conducted after the practicum process is finish. The instrument used in this study of performance observation sheet that is used when the implementation of peer assessment. To see the effectiveness of student assessment results, the assessment carried out by teachers.  The results showed that the assessment of the student is larger than teacher assessment in Senior High School. Similarity assessment conducted through peer assessment of students with teacher assessment results in practical characteristics of living beings is 44 % , the material soil pollution 44 % and the material water pollution by 45 %.Keywords:        effectiveness , peer assessment, student performance , teacher assessment , lab

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap penguasan fakta, konsep, prosedur dan metakognisi pada pembelajaran problem based learning pada pelajaran biologi. Penelitian merupakan quasi eksperiment dengan populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas 10 SMAN 4 Surakarta, dengan 2 kelas sebagai sampel penelitian kontrol dan perlakuan. Penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive random sampling untuk dua kelas yang mempunyai kesamaan kemampuan dengan uji F(32;0,05)=3,998. Analisis pertanyaan peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan pembelajaran problem based learning menggunakan kualifikasi pertanyaan berdasarkan Taksonomi Bloom. Data dianalisis dengan anacova. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran problem based learning mempengaruhi penguasaan pertanyaan ditinjou dari jumlah pertanyaan pada pengetahuan fakta, konsep, prosedur  namun tidak untuk metakognisi.Keywords: problem based learning, pertanyaaan, fakta, konsep, prosedur, metakognisi

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L) dalam ransum terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol daging dada ayam broiler strain hubbard. Tujuan lain penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pada taraf berapa persenkah penambahan tepung mengkudu dalam ransum ini yang dinilai paling maksimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pola rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Populasi dalam penelitian adalah ayam broiler strain hubbard dan sebagai sampel penelitian adalah 25 ekor ayam broiler strain hubbard. Dua puluh lima ekor ayam terbagi dalam 5 kelompok dengan perlakuan penambahan tepung mengkudu dalam ransum sebesar 0%, 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, dan 10%. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 6 minggu. Parameter yang diukur adalah kadar kolesterol daging dada ayam broiler strain hubbard. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis varian satu jalur (ANAVA) untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung mengkudu dalam ransum terhadap kadar kolesterol daging ayam broiler dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan rerata antara kelompok perlakuan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan program Software SPSS Versi 10. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung mengkudu dalam ransum dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol daging dada ayam broiler strain hubbard pada perlakuan PI (0,3489 mgr/gr), PII (0,3128 mgr/gr), PIII (0,2873 mgr/gr), PIV (0,2611 mgr/gr), dan PV (0,2232 mgr/gr). Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa dosis penambahan tepung mengkudu dalam ransum yang dinilai paling maksimal dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol daging dada ayam broiler strain hubbard adalah pada taraf 10% dari total ransum. Abstract

The Cibodas village community, Pasirjambu Sub-District, Bandung Regency has majority occupation as farmer and livestock, especially in dairy cattle. The main problem faced by them, is livestock waste and garbage not being managed properly, many people who do not have permanent jobs, cattle farms, experiencing a decrease in quality and quantity due to the difficulty of fodder and high cost of concentrated feed. The purpose of this activity is to offer a solution to increase employment opportunities by encouraging integrated agriculture and livestock businesses to be environmentally friendly and waste treatment to become economically valuable materials. The Method to achieve community participation was conducted through the following step, a) Village community meeting (rembug desa), b) Focus Group Discussion 1 and 2 c) Training for the facilitator. And the method to support the achievement of ecovillage were established pilot facilities and job opportunities such as agriculture waste treatment, agroforestry, and Integrated municipal waste treatment facilities.  The result of the activity has shown by an active role, joining of several community leaders, and has established youth groups as the next generation in agricultural, and livestock business, municipal waste management efforts. By processing waste into fertilizer, biogas, and fodder, the farming business has become low-cost and environmentally friendly. The utilization of organic waste by Black soldier fly is an additional income for garbage managers in the Injeman Garbage Treatment Unit. It is concluded that the involvement of community leaders and youth group as a facilitator, in the activities indicate the effort of Cibodas towards Eco-village will run sustainably.

Abstract

The objective of this developmental research is to know: 1) the procedure of the development of biology learning module based on Brain Based Learning with Vee Diagram; 2) the feasibility of biology learning module based on Brain Based Learning with Vee Diagram; and 3) the effectiveness of biology learning module based on Brain Based Learning with Vee Diagram to empowering the science process skills and self regulation ability. The method used in the research was Research and Development (R&D) refers to Borg & Gall model. The samples used in the research were early field trial sample consisting of 6 validators, main field trial sample consisted of 10 students even semester of the tenth grade at SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak in academic year 2013/2014 and operational field trial sample consisted of 27 students even semester of the tenth grade at SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono in academic year 2013/2014. The instruments used in the research were questionnaire, observation, interview and test. The operational field trial used one group pretest-posttest design. The skill of science process and the ability of self-regulation data were tested by Wilcoxon test and counted by normalized gain. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that: 1) the development of module uses Borg & Gall developmental; 2) the feasibility of module as good with value 3,45 by the expert, very good with value 3,79 by the practitioners and very good with value 3,63 by the students; and 3) the effectiveness of module is high categorized in empowering the science process skills with Ngain 0,72 as the significance of 0,000 and the self regulation ability with Ngain 0,71 as the significance of 0,000.Keywords: module development, brain based learning, vee diagram, science process skills, self regulation ability

Abstract

Taman Pintar with area of 3.104 m2 located in Waringin Raya street, Kayu putih, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta. This park is located in a crowded settlement area that is burdened by social and environmental issue, one which emerge as a place for illegal drug and alcohol transaction, a landfill for debris and trash, even flooding in times of rain. Starting from empty field with fences of precast that is not treated and abandoned, this land that is owned by the government of DKI Jakarta change drastically into a green open space that is loaded with unexpected benefits since build into a Taman Pintar in 2015. Filled with various children playground facilities, sport facilities, and miniature of urban forest, Taman Pintar became a social interaction room for the local community and possesses high ecological functions. This park has a huge basin underneath its plaza, five infiltration wells, and thirty biopori pits which is made the surrounded area of the park no longer flooded in rainy season. This study aims to examine the ecological concept of the design and construction of Taman Pintar. This paper used a qualitative descriptive method, the result shows when the consideration of ecology turned into a priority in the park design, this will give an opportunity to make the development of the park has more benefit on ecological side that gives positive impacts, moreover the addition of facilities also capable to increase the ecological value of the park. The result is expected to be a recommendation for other parks development in Jakarta which can be maximized to become a great environmental education facilities for the local communities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students internalization character through the implementation of learning model SETS (Science Environment Technology and Society) in class XI IPA 2 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar academic year 2016/2017. This research is an action research (Classroom Action Research), was held two cycles. Each cycle consists of three stages: planning, execution and observation, and reflection. The subjects were students of class XI IPA 2 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar academic year 2016/2017. The data research obtained through observation, tests, self-assessment questionnaires and friends, and interviews. The validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Analysis of data using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research procedures using spiral model Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Aspects of the character values of students researched were honest, disciplined, hard working, creative, independent, curious, caring environment, and responsibility. The results of attitude observation 76.9%, student self-assessment 80.8%, and friend assessment 76.5%. Student achievement scores on internalizing character prasiklus 41,3%, 60,8% the first cycle and the second cycle 78.1%. Based on these research it can be concluded that the implementation of learning models SETS (Science Environment Technology and Society) can improve the character internalization towards the eleventh grade students of science 2 program (XI IPA 2) at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar.
