Jurnal Kajian Ekonomi dan Pembangunan (JKEP) is a peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for scientific works pertaining to Development Economics. This journal was first published since June 2019 by the Universitas Negeri Padang.This journal published four times a year and has e-ISSN 2656-0356. JKEP is expected to be used as a reference for academicians in writing a scientific, relevant, and dynamic article to enhance the new generation that is found in writing an academic paper. The Redaction Board accepts only research in the field of legal science that already in the form of a journal article to be considered for publication. The aims of JKEP are to provides immediate open access to its content in the principle of making research freely available to the public as a support for the greater global exchange of knowledge. The language used in this journal is English or Indonesian. Scope of articles published in JKEP is consist of a broad range of topic in the field of development economics, energy economics, environmental economics, international trade, public finance, rural development, regional economics, financial development, monetary economics, industrial economics, Islamic economics, agricultural economics, and labor economics.

Abstract

This study aims to systematize and explain the effect of land area, fertilizer use and labor on agriculture output of food crops in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research, the data used is secondary data which is analyzed using panel regression analysis. The estimation result show that land area has a negative and insignificant effect on agricultural output of food crops in Indonesia, the amount of fertilizer use has a positive and significant effect on agricultural output of food crops in Indonesia and labor has a negative and insignificant effect on agricultural output of food crops in Indonesia. Therefore this study proposes the government to be able to run a program that can increase land production power and labor production power in order to increase agricultural output of food crops.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the influence of maternal education level on mortality rates in West Sumatra. (2) the influence of maternal age on mortality rates in West Sumatra. (3) the effect of the health budget on mortality rates in West Sumatra. (4) the influence of medical personnel on mortality rates in West Sumatra. The type of research used is descriptive and associative. The type of data used is secondary data. This study uses panel data, namely using 19 districts / cities in West Sumatra Province using the Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The level of maternal education has a negative and significant effect on mortality in West Sumatra, (2) Maternal age has a negative and not significant effect on mortality rates in West Sumatra, (3) Health budgets have a positive and insignificant effect against mortality rates in West Sumatra, (4ss) Medical personnel have a positive and not significant effect on mortality rates in West Sumatra.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the influence of Islamic finance on the economic growth of Muslim-majority countries in ASEAN. The data used is panel data over the 2004-2018 times period in the three Islamic Majority Country in ASEAN. The variable used are economic growth (Y), Islamic Financial Depth (X2), Islamic banking asset (X2), and Islamic Banking Activiti (X3). This research method uses panel data analysis. This study found that the Islamic Financial Depth variable had a signficant effect on economic growth, the variable Islamic banking asset and Islamic banking activities had a signficant effect on economics growth with alpha 0.05. Overall there is a signficant influence of Islamics financial variables on economic growth in Muslim-majority countries in ASEAN. Therefore, the government must support activity related to Islamic finance especially in Islamic banking so that the performance of Islamics banking can maximize and contribute to economic activity and encourage economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims the influence of corruption, democracy and politics on poverty in ASEAN countries with economic growth as a moderating variable. The method used is using the panel regression model. This data uses a combination method between time series data from 2013 - 2016 and a cross section consisting of 8 countries. Data obtained from World Bank annual reports, Transparency International and Freedom House. The results of this study indicate that (1) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) has a significant and negative effect on poverty, meaning that if the CPI increases then poverty will decrease (2) Democracy has no significant and negative effect on poverty. This means that if democracy increases, poverty will decrease (3) Politics has a significant and negative effect on poverty, meaning that if politics increases, poverty will decrease (4) Economic growth has a significant and positive effect on poverty, meaning if economic growth increases then poverty will decline (3) Economic growth unable to moderate the relationship between corruption, democracy and politics towards poverty in 8 ASEAN countries. Economic growth as an interaction variable is a predictor variable (Predictor Moderate Variable), which means that economic growth is only an independent variable.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine (1) the effect of the level of education on the opportunitiesfor job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (2) the influence of gender on job seekers'opportunities to access the internet in West Sumatra. (3) the influence of age on the opportunitiesfor job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (4) the influence of the area of residence onthe opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (5) the effect of income onjob search opportunities in accessing the internet in West Sumatra. This type of research isdescriptive - associative. The types and sources of data from the Socio-Economic Survey aresecondary. In this study using data that already exists in a data collection (National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) in 2018. The analysis tool used is logistic regression analysis, andthe total number of job seekers is 1,641 people. From the results of this study, it is explained that(1) education has a significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access theinternet in West Sumatra, (2) gender has no significant negative effect on the opportunities for jobseekers to access the internet in West Sumatra. (3) age has no significant positive effect on theopportunities for job seekers to access the internet in West Sumatra (4) the area of residence has apositive and significant effect on the opportunities for job seekers to access the internet in WestSumatra. (5) income has a significant positive effect on the opportunities for job seekers to accessthe internet in West Sumatra. As for the results of the research, so that the government of WestSumatra Province can provide socialization on the use of the internet in looking for work andbecome a consideration for the government in formulating a policy related to job availability forjob seekers in accessing the internet.Keywords: Job seekers, Internet, Logistic Regression.

Abstract

This research purpose are to analyze the effect of capital, price, labor, and education level on the income of saltwater fish seller in Batusangkar’s Market. The kind of this research is descriptive’s research, the data used are primary data which are analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression. The result show that the capital has a positive and significant effect on the income of saltwater fish seller in Batusangkar’s Market and the price has a positive and significant effect on the income of saltwater fish seller in Batusangkar’s Market and the working hours has a positive and significant effect on the income of saltwater fish seller in Batusangkar’s Market and the education level has a positive and significant effect on the income of saltwater fish seller in Batusangkar’s Market and the capital, price, working hours, and education level has a positive and significant effect as together on the income of saltwater fish seller in Batusangkar’s Market.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the Influence of inflation on financial stability system in Indonesia. The data used are secondary data in the form of time series from 2005:M1 to 2017:M12, with documentation data collection techniques and library studies obtained from relevant institutions and agencies. The variables used are Inflation, BI Rate, BI-7 Day Repo Rate, Exchange Rate and Financial Stability System. The research methods used are: (1) Multiple Linear Regression Analysis and Ordinary Least Square, (2) Classical Assumption Test. The results of the study show that (1) Inflation does not have a significant and negative effect on financial system stability. This means that inflation has no effect on financial system stability. (2) Exchange rates have a significant effect on Financial System Stability. This means that Exchange Rates have positive effect of Financial System Stability in Indonesia, every Rupiah Exchange Rate against US $ is depreciated, it will increase Financial System Stability in Indonesia. So it can be said that Financial System Stability is influenced by the appreciation or depreciation of the Rupiah Exchange Rate against US $ in Indonesia.. (3) Economic Growth has a positive effect on Financial System Stability. This means that every Economic Growth increases, it will increase the financial system stability in Indonesia, (4) The Composite Stock Price Index has a positive effect on financial system stability. Si it can be said that financial system stability is influeced by the strengthening or weakening of the JCI in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research explains about Analysis Determinants Of Foreign Portfolio Investment (Comparative Study : Indonesia - China). This research uses a time series data from year 1986 - 2018, with method  Error Correction Model (ECM). Data sources from World Bank  and Global Rates.  Research  result explain that (1) Long-term  and short economic growth  in Indonesia and China has a significant positive to FPI (2) International interest rate long-term and short-term in Indonesia and China has a insignificant positive effect on FPI (3) Dummy economic crisis long-term in Indonesia increases foreign portofolio investment, but in China  lowers foreign portofolio investment . Meanwhile short-term in Indonesia and China increases investment.

Abstract

The purpose of this studywas to determine the efect of income, gender, type of work, number of dependents, level of education to visit commercial tourist attractions in West Sumatra. This type of research is descriptive, where this study uses secondary data in the form of national socioeconomic survey data in 2017 and uses logistic regression methods. The results of this study indicate that income, type of work, number of dependents, level of education have a positive and significant effect on opportunities for tourist visits in West Sumatra, while gender, has a negative and significant effect on opportunities for tourist visits in West Sumatra.Keywords: tourist visits, income, gender type, type of work, number of dependents, education level.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the demand for fuel oil in Indonesia. The independent variables of this study are: (X1) Economy, (X2) Total Population. The model chosen in this study is the Random Effect Model (REM).            This type of research is descriptive and associative research, the data used in this study are secondary data using panel data techniques during the 2015-2018 period. Documentation data collection techniques obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and BPH Migas. Data were analyzed using the Regression Panel.   The results of this study indicate that: (1) The economy has a positive and significant effect on demand for fuel oil in Indonesia. This means that as the economy increases, the demand for fuel oil in Indonesia also increases. Indonesia's energy consumption is dominated by fossil energy, especially fuel. Final energy consumption consists of various sectors, namely households, industry, transportation, commercial, and others. Energy is very much needed in carrying out Indonesia's economic activities, both for consumption needs and for the production activities of various economic sectors. (2) The population has a positive and significant effect on the demand for fuel oil in Indonesia. This means that the greater the population, the higher the demand for fuel oil in Indonesia. From year to year the population of Indonesia as one of the developing countries in the world continues to experience growth. This growth has had various impacts on aspects of human life. One aspect that is quite affected by the increase in population is the use of energy to support the necessities of life which includes the industrial sector, households, transportation and so forth. The greater the population, the greater the energy used. Keywords : Economy, Population and Panel Regression
