Abstract

This study explores the effect of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning using the EDP (Engineering Design Process) model on the attitudes of seventh-grade junior high school students on heat and temperature. This research is quantitative. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental study with a one-shot case study design. The sample is 31 students from class VII-11 Public Junior High School at Samarinda City. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire technique. The results of the data analysis of the value of R square, the coefficient of determination is 39,6%, and the significant value in the simple linear regression test is 0,000. These results indicate that STEM learning with the EDP model affects student attitudes, so applying STEM to shape students' attitudes towards STEM is essential.

Abstract

Industrial revolution-based learning media 4.0 is urgently needed when it is in accordance with technological developments. The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of learning media based on Augmented Reality in learning. The research subjects were computer science study program students in the General Physics course, the type of research used was Research and Development (R&D) by applying the 4D model. The data collection technique used in this study was an assessment instrument with a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques were carried out to obtain good quality products that meet the aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that AR-based learning media on material with special lens rays was valid, practical and effective so that it was concluded that it was feasible to use in learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether students' critical thinking skills with the problem based learning (PBL) learning model assisted by animated videos on the substance pressure material can meet the high criteria and what aspects of critical thinking skills are developed through the problem based learning (PBL) learning model assisted by animated videos on the material pressure of the substance. This type of research was conducted using a quasi-experimental research method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study consisted of one class totaling 32 students, namely class VIII-8 of 17 Medan State Junior High School which was selected by random sampling. The instrument used is a critical thinking ability test that has been validated in the form of multiple choice as many as 25 questions by fulfilling the content validity requirements, namely in the range of values from 0.357 to 0.757 and fulfilling the reliability requirements of 0.778. From the results of the study, the average pretest was 58.281 and the posttest was 87.813 which stated that the data was homogeneous. In the normality test, the Chi-Square value of the pretest was 23,426 and the posttest was 10,253 which stated that the data were normally distributed. Based on the results of the analysis of the hypothesis test (one sample t-test) obtained tcount > ttable that is 10,734>1,695. In the normalized gain test, an n-gain value of 0.719 (71.9%) was obtained which stated that the critical thinking skills of students who were taught using a problem based learning (PBL) learning model assisted by animated videos on material pressure substances met the high criteria. The results showed that the students' critical thinking ability for aspects of giving simple explanations was 54.69%, aspects of building basic skills by 53.13%, concluding aspects of 54.69%, aspects of making further explanations of 62.24%, and aspects of making further explanations. Manage strategies and tactics by 71.09%. So it can be concluded that the aspects of critical thinking that are developed are aspects of managing strategies and tactics

Abstract

In the 21st century, the education sector, especially in the science field, needs to develop facets of teaching methods, learning materials, and assessment strategies to prepare students to have creative thinking and ability to think critically. This study aims to determine the impact of the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This study used a quasi-experimental design as the research method and two-group pre-test and post-test testing as the instrument. The study population consisted of seventh grade students 5th Junior High School Percut Sei Tuan, with a sampling technique used cluster random sampling, making students of grades VII3 and VII4 the samples of this study. The results of this study showed that providing a SETS (science, environment, technology and society) model has a very significant effect for teaching critical thinking to students about global warming material in class of seventh grade students country 5 Junior High School Percut Sei Tuan. The thing that can be developed from this research by further researchers is to add media that can support the SETS learning model to get better results

Abstract

Student Activity Sheet (LKPD) is an activity sheet containing tasks carried out by students, containing instructions, steps to complete a task in the form of theory or practice. LKPD can be used to improve students' creative thinking skills because the use of LKPD involves activities such as investigation and thinking activities such as analyzing and solving problems. LKPD development aims to determine the validity of LKPD, student responses and the effectiveness of LKPD in improving creative thinking skills. LKPD development using the ADDIE method, data collection techniques in this study were descriptive analysis and N-gain test. The samples in this study were two design expert lecturers, material experts and learning experts, as well as class VIII and 30 class VIII students of junior high school RK Deli Murni Delitua. Based on the validation of design experts, learning experts and media material experts, students' responses are very good and LKPD can improve students' creative thinking skills, which can be seen from the N-gain calculation, which is 0.71 high category

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe students' creative thinking skills on Environmental Pollution material at Prince Antasari Middle School; (2) to find out the description of students' creative thinking skills on Environmental Pollution material at Prince Antasari State Junior High School; and (3) knowing the percentage of creative thinking ability on each indicator of creative thinking ability. The type of research conducted in this research is descriptive research using a mixed methods approach and non-experimental research design. The data collection stage uses a test instrument that contains description questions for creative thinking skills and uses a questionnaire for the student learning process. The sampling technique used is total sampling by taking samples of two classes. The subjects of this study were seventh grade students of Prince Antasari Middle School, totaling 73 students. The samples in this study were 38 students in class VII-1 and class VII-2, totaling 35 students. The results showed quite good with 31 students (42.5%), followed by good criteria with 30 students (41.1%). , then less well with 6 students (8.2%), and there are only 2 students (2.7%). The conclusion of this study shows that students' creative thinking abilities are in the category of creative enough with a learning process that has quite good criteria
