Abstract

Rising demand for retail space in Surabaya is met with concerns over the impact of online shopping on malls. This study examines the application of public space activity grouping theory to malls in Surabaya to reinforce their role as inclusive spaces. Methods include site analysis based on Edward T. White (1983) and activity analysis based on Dea et al. (2021). The study proposes a site layout divided into three zones with activities categorized by time, intensity of visits, and age of visitors: Public / Night Time Zone, Commercialized / Building Zone, and Semi Public / Day Time Zone. The proposed site zoning can be implemented on sites with similar conditions. Further research is needed to develop architectural forms with specific design approaches.

Abstract

Attention to the existence of museums in Indonesia has shown positive results. Various types of museums accompanied by activities to involve the public in visiting museums have been promoted. Despite the fact that visitors have to queue to enter the museum, have to pay, and then it takes quite a long time to explore the entire collection and the museum's display system. Most people think that museums are always synonymous with ancient and antique things, with rooms that are dark, dusty and tend to be unkempt. This opinion may be true, because in reality many museums in Indonesia are poorly maintained, only functioning as collection rooms, so they become very uninteresting objects to visit. On the other hand, there is an opinion that a museum is a strategic institution that functions as a place for storing, caring for, safeguarding and utilizing objects, evidence and materials resulting from human culture which are useful for efforts to preserve the nation's cultural wealth.

Abstract

The Jatikarya Silaturahim Education Foundation (YPSJ) is a boarding school-based educational institution, the workforce is divided into teachers and employees with their respective job duties. The system that is currently running processes data using Microsoft Excel. However, there are still many obstacles, such as recording salary calculations consisting of position allowances, functional allowances, transportation allowances, special allowances and reductions in salary deductions. So reports and receipt of information to superiors and employees are often late and errors occur. The aim of this research is to analyze payroll processing and calculations, by designing and building a payroll information system that can be managed automatically based on theoretical foundations. Collecting observation data results using writing methods and tools using document flow charts, context diagrams, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, normalization and table relationships. Research implementation uses the PHP programming language and database creation uses MySQL. In application testing, black-box testing is used, which is a method of designing test data based on software specifications. It is hoped that this teacher and employee payroll information system can be a solution that can be used to simplify the admin process in managing and providing data information accurately and time efficiently.

Abstract

This research examines the problem of water use in the ablution process in Muslim communities in Indonesia, where around 90% of the population is Muslim. Water waste during ablution activities is a major concern, especially when the amount of water used per ablution is relatively high. There is also the problem of using manual ablution faucets which are less efficient and prone to damage. This condition is exacerbated by the clean water crisis in several areas, which emphasizes the importance of efficient water use. In order to overcome this problem, this research presents a solution in the form of UWU (Automatic Ablution) Tap, an automatic water tap with various innovative features. UWU Tap uses a proximity sensor to detect the part of the body performing ablution and utilizes the flow of ablution water as a source of electrical energy for the tap. In addition, this faucet is equipped with a flowmeter sensor and LCD screen to monitor water usage. There is also a web platform that allows monitoring and analysis of ablution water usage data. Trial results show that the UWU Tap can save up to 37% of water usage compared to manual ablution taps. The use of a mini generator and water usage indicator are additional advantages. In addition, this product can be mass produced at an affordable price, enabling its use in mosques, prayer rooms and other public facilities. This research makes a significant contribution to overcoming the problem of wasting water during ablution activities, as well as creating an efficient, innovative and affordable solution for the Muslim community in Indonesia.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to create a building design for the clothing industry from micro to macro level. The research method used is a case study, the paradigm used is based on facts that occur in the field and problems that exist within the scope of domestic industry. The lack of supporting capacity for industries such as textile trade makes it difficult for industrial players to obtain raw materials for production. Therefore, clothing industry players have to get the materials they need further than expected. In fact, currently several entrepreneurs have to source raw materials in the West Java area, because West Java is considered a more complete textile city for goods needed for production. Needs analysis produces building plans which are then implemented so that they can support the industrial community. The calculation results show that the construction of textile trade facilities in Surabaya has made a huge contribution to the clothing industry in the Surabaya region and even eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper discusses the implementation of regionalism architecture principles in the sandur art performance facility in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. The research aims to apply the principles of regionalism architecture to sandur art performance facilities to accommodate and develop traditional Bojonegoro art. The research method employs a mixed approach with qualitative analysis and observation. Data is obtained through direct observation, literature studies, and analysis of regionalism architecture principles. The analysis of regionalism architecture principles includes responses to local context, the use of local materials, adaptation to climate, and traditional aesthetics. The implementation results in a response to the local context, referring to the sandur art story, which will be used as a zoning boundary on the site. Abundant local materials in Bojonegoro Regency such as red bricks, bamboo, and teak wood, are used. Utilization of sunlight as natural lighting, adequate drainage systems, and utilization of wind as natural ventilation are also applied. Moreover, ornamentation on the building uses teak wood carvings at the entrance and walls, and applies shape transformation from sandur during the kalongking scene, symbolizing the human life cycle. The implementation of regionalism architecture principles in adequate sandur art performance facilities in Bojonegoro is expected to increase public interest, especially among the younger generation, in preserving and learning traditional art of Bojonegoro, become a tourist attraction, and enrich local culture.

Abstract

Indonesia has now entered an era of an aging population structure. According to SUSENAS 2022, there are 10.48% of the population who are elderly. This is also the case in Blitar City. Blitar City currently does not have a nursing home, so it is necessary to determine a location that is planned for the future, because in the City Spatial Detail Plan (RDTR) of Blitar City 2017-2031 there is a plan to build a nursing home. However, the location listed in the RDTR is currently being used for other development, so alternative locations are needed that are suitable for the construction of a nursing home. The research method used was primary and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained from direct surveys at locations, while secondary data is data collection from literature studies such as journals, scientific articles, statutory regulations and so on.

Abstract

A website-based decision support information system for stock selection recommendations is an effort to help stock investors in Indonesia. The Composite Performance Index (CPI) method is a method that can rank (outranking) the final results. This method is also equipped to resolve cases with multiple criteria. The calculation criteria are stock financial ratios, which describe the company's financial performance during a specific period. The types of criteria used are Price to Book Value (PBV), Price to Earning (PER), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Return on Equity (ROE). This research shows that the developed stock recommendation system can produce appropriate stock recommendations to help investors make investment decisions.

Abstract

One of the development sectors of the Indonesian nation is tourism. In the government's efforts to improve the welfare and prosperity of the people, tourism is expected to make a major contribution to increasing the country's foreign exchange (Tri et al., 2014). Tourism has several approach concepts that can be applied, one of which is ecology or ecotourism. Ecotourism is sustainable tourism that focuses on nature management to increase understanding and appreciation of environmental and cultural conservation (Nurul et al., 2021). According to the International Ecotourism Society (TIES) (1991) ecotourism is tourist travel to natural areas to conserve or save the environment and provide a livelihood to local residents. According to this definition, ecotourism is a natural tourism trip with special interests carried out in accordance with environmental conservation standards (Idham, 2020). Ecological tourism or ecotourism is now widely spread in Indonesia, one of which is Dusun Bambu Bandung. Dusun Bambu offers one stop leisure on 15 hectares of land located at the foot of Mount Burangrang. The main concept of Dusun Bambu is ecotourism and conservation with mission 7E, which means Education, Economy, Ethnology, Ethics, Aesthetics and Entertainment. Dusun Bambu received the ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award (ASTA) and Indonesia Sustainable Tourism Award (ISTA) which is proof of the success of Dusun Bambu as a sustainable tourist destination. By applying ecological principles to Dusun Bambu, it can reduce the negative impacts produced by conventional tourism in general.
