Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the primary abilities students must master in the 21st century. One of the materials that requires this skill is Newton's Law, which is often a challenge in learning physics. Newton's Law is an essential topic in physics that students usually consider difficult. The research focused on the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with STEM on students' critical thinking skills in Newton's Law material. The STEM-based PBL approach can be proven to hone students' analytical and critical thinking skills. However, although the benefits of PBL and STEM have been widely discussed, studies that integrate both in Newton's Law material are still minimal. The approach is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group technique involving two classes: experimental (PBL integrated with STEM) and control (conventional approach). Data was generated through pretest-posttest to assess students' critical thinking skills. This approach provides opportunities for students to apply concepts in real life through exploration and problem-solving. The study results indicate a significant difference between the experimental and control classes with a p-value of 0.036 (p <0.05) and a d-value of 0.53, so it is included in the moderate influence category. Thus, the integrated PBL approach with STEM effectively improves students' critical thinking skills in Newton's Law material.

Abstract

Civics is a subject related to recitations of the 1945 Constitution, Pancasila, and ceremonies. In fact, Civics is an educational program in which the core is political democracy, and the output is a good and intelligent citizen living according to the goals of the state, becoming a citizen who is aware of his rights and obligations, as well as a nationalist citizen or love for the country. The results of the study aim to describe the analysis of the implementation of Civics teacher learning in the formation of the nationalist character of Adventist Abepura Junior High School students. The method in this research is qualitative, combined with a descriptive approach. The data collection process was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the formation of the character of nationalism at Adventist Junior High School Abepura is not simple, especially since the majority of students are native Papuans. Various obstacles, namely a very different history, significantly in relation to the Netherlands compared to other regions in Indonesia. Second, there have been ongoing political tensions since integration into the Republic of Indonesia. Third, there are problems with the implementation of special autonomy policies and the use of special autonomy funds. The approach to conflict must be improved, even if it does not instantly solve the problem. At least, the pattern of violence should be reduced slowly in order to meet the same intersection for an act of peace.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving student learning discipline through the reward and punishment method at SMA PAB 4 Sampali. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. In this study, researchers involved PAI teachers, students, and other respondents who were considered necessary in this study. The data analysis technique in this study used the Miles and Huberman analysis technique, consisting of four flows: da: action, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. After the data collection technique, the data obtained would be tested for validity using data source triangulation. The study results showed that student discipline still needed improvement, but there was an increase because less disciplined students were inspired by their friends who obeyed the rules. PAI teachers play an essential role through their approach as teachers, advisors, mediators, and evaluators. The supporting factor for discipline is a mutual agreement, such as a ban on using cell phones while studying. At the same time, the main obstacle is the negative influence of excessive cellphone use. Islamic Religious Education teachers are expected to continue innovating with a creative and balanced approach between punishment and rewards to build effective discipline in academic aspects and student character formation. The study's conclusion shows that the role of Islamic religious education teachers is to improve student learning discipline.
