Abstract

This study aims to overcome the problem of non-standardized teaching materials and low practical skills of students in the Income Tax (PPh) Practicum course. This challenge impacts the effectiveness of learning and students' readiness to understand and apply the concept of PPh. Therefore, it is necessary to develop innovative, interactive, and relevant teaching materials to improve students' understanding of the material, learning motivation, and practical skills. The practicum module is an important thing to prepare in practicum learning as a tool that supports student learning to be more effective and efficient in understanding the existing material. This study uses the Research and Development (RnD) method with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research stages include needs analysis, interactive module design, development and limited trials on 37 students, and evaluation of the module's feasibility by experts and users. The developed e-module is feasible, with a score of 80% for content quality, learning objectives, and instructional, and 100% for the quality of interactive teaching materials. The level of student satisfaction reached 89.2%, while the quality of the questions was assessed at 91.9%, indicating the module's effectiveness in improving students' understanding, learning motivation, and practical skills. This study successfully developed an interactive-based PPh Practicum e-module, which was feasible and effective in enhancing students' knowledge, motivation, and practical skills. Further research is recommended to expand the module's implementation and integrate tax software to support students' readiness in the world of work.

Abstract

English language learning in higher education has challenges, particularly for non-English majors such as health science students, due to lack of motivation and material. Incorporating AI in learning is becoming popular and of increasing interest, especially in language learning environments. The research examined students' attitudes toward using ChatGPT as a learning aid in English learning and its potential advantages and weaknesses. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. It used a questionnaire administered to 45 health science students who used ChatGPT in English and 10 purposively sampled students for semi-structured interviews to obtain more comprehensive data about their experiences. The findings reveal that the AI tool is valued for its ability to explain complex topics, expand vocabulary, and help with writing. However, the following challenges were noted: information overload, complete reliance on the AI system, and the need for personalized responses. These insights stress the necessity of harmonizing technology with conventional teaching techniques. The implications indicate that although AI tools like ChatGPT can support language learning, human interaction is also significant. Integrating ChatGPT in English learning can be a worthy addition that will help students engage more and yield many positive learning outcomes. However, educators must tackle issues related to overdependence on AI-generated content and its information quality.

Abstract

Project-based learning involves (1) students investigating important ideas and asking questions, (2) finding understanding in the process of investigating, (3) according to their needs and interests, (4) producing products and thinking creatively, (5) being critical and skilled in investigating and concluding material, and (6) connecting with real-world, authentic problems and issues. The Discovery Learning learning paradigm requires the instructor to supervise and steer student learning activities according to the goals—conditions like these desire to shift teaching and learning from teacher-centered to student-centered. R&D and experimentation are used in this study. After the research, statistics were used to compare student learning results from both practicum guides with distinct approach strategies. The Discovery practicum guide is the independent variable. Project-based learning and character qualities, whereas student learning results are the dependent variable. The average pretest score in Experimental Class I and II, Discovery Model practical guideIn a row, the Project-Based Learning Model is 53.00±8.65183375 and 56.00±11.91704748The average posttest score in Experimental Class I, Discovery model practical guide, and Experimental Class II, practical guideProject Based Learning Model: 86.00±9.045920836, 81.75±13.95110653. Establishing the normalized gain value of scientific learning outcomes in the class was important since students' average pretest and posttest scores in the science experiment differed. The Discovery Model practical guide is more successful for teaching and learning, particularly for heat and explanation information, than the Experimental Model. Project-based learning is best with the Discovery Model practical guide.
