Abstract

This research was conducted at laboratory of Fish Processing Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau, on February 2014. The research was to evaluate of consumer acceptance of smoke cat fish abon which was made by different smoking methods. The cat fish from pond aquaculture in Kampar was prepared. 10 kg of cat fish weighing 300-400 g/fish was filleted and  divided two groups. Grup 1 the cat fish was soaked with 60 ml of liquid smoke for 1 hour, and grup 2 the cat fish was smoked by traditional smoking for 7 hours. Abon was made and evaluated for consumer acceptance, moisture, protein, fatty and ash. The result showed that the colour and odor of  abon from  grup 1 was most preferable by consumer, whereas the taste and texture of abon from grup 2 was preferable  by consumer. Therefore it could be concluded that the smoked cat fish abon with liquid smoke and smoked cat fish abon with traditional smoking were relatively same on consumer acceptance.

Abstract

Bathymetry and tidal pattern mapping have been conducted 2007.Observation intended to present a bathymetry and tidal pattern map. From the mapit could be found the place where sedimentation happened.The result showed that sedimentation in the mouth of Sungai Masjidestuary increasing by 0.75 meter/year. Type of tidal was mixed tide predominantlysemidiurnal. During the flood tide, direction of tidal current was from North to theSouth and then to South West. South West to North East and then to North duringebb tide.

Abstract

Clam Finger (Fish Stick) products from Lingula Unguis have never been done before. During this, the product Finger (Fish Stick) only made from fish, meat and chicken. The production of abundant Lingula Unguis in Tanjung Balai City requires innovative food processing ready to eat and economic value. The purpose of this research is to know how far consumer acceptance to clam finger with different batter formulation. The research method used is the method of expriment with 3 treatments and 3 repetitions. Treatment of A1 (wheat flour and rice flour), A2 (tapioca flour and rice flour), and A3 (rice flour and meizena flour). The research design used was complete randomized design (RAL) non factorial. Organoleptic test results to 80 panelists known to panelists prefer treatment A3 in terms of taste and texture. As many as 27.5% say very like and 62.5% say likes in the flavor category. While 25% states are very fond of texture A3, and as many as 68.75% say likes. From the results of duncan test conducted for the category of appearence and aroma there is no real difference between treatments, while the taste and texture category there is a real difference between A3 and other treatments with 95% confidence level

Abstract

This study about activity of antioxidant aimed to determine the chemical characterization of sandfish, sandfish meat and sandfish powder, determine the best formulation in manufacturing Holothuria atra tablet based on DEPKES RI standard and to determine the antioxidant activity and the active compounds that act as antioxidants in the extract of Holothuria atra tablets. The method used in the manufacture of tablets is the direct compression method using 6 formulations to treat the kind of powder substance that is the ingredient of sandfish are intact and substances from the meat of sandfish. Tablet chosen based on the standards of the Ministry of Health that includes the physical characteristics of the test tablet and shelf-life stability. Tablet rivet sandfishtested the antioxidant activity by the method of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Tests to determine the active compounds that act as antioxidants with thin layer chromatography (TLC) and bioautography antioxidants and also to determine the functional groups using analysis of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). The yield of sandfish powder is considerably low. Yield of sandfish powder are 10.26% and sandfish meat powder are 9,82%. The protein content of sandfish powder are 60,89% lower compared to sandfish meat powders of 63,57%. Formula elected from the sandfish tablet test based on physical characteristics and stability test of the shelf life of the tablet is the formula A2 with the composition of the powder formulation Holothuria atra (25%), Ac-Di-Sol (2%), L-HPC (2%), Aspartame (0.5%), menthol (0.2%), talk (1%), magnesium stearate (1%) and lactose: mannitol (67.8%) and has antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 97.22 ppm. TLC test and Bio-autography showed that the class of antioxidant compounds are steroid, and suspected compounds at FTIR test, that act as antioxidants compound has similarities to the sterol class.

Abstract

This research was conducted from June to July 2011 in Kote watersSingkep Lingga Riau island. The purpose of study is to know effect ofenviromental parameters toward on catchtes kelong bilis with metod survey. Thenext analisys use regresi linier multiple. Result of study showed, enviromentalparameters not give effect to on catchtes kelong bilis. Abstract

This research aims to determine the type of work carried out by fishermen wife’s, calculate the amount of income earned by fishermen and contribution fishermen wife’s and analyze several factor influence wife’s contribution the increase income of fishermen family. This research was conducted in September 2018. The method used in this research were a survey method. Respondents taken in this study is 36 people, namely fishermen and fishermen wife’s that work. The results of this Penelitianresearch indicate the work carried out by fishermen wife’s such as rickety stalls, sewing, trade, rice stalls, morning absorption stalls, The mean of income the fishermen’s is IDR 1.568.106,-, the mean of income the fishermen wife’s is IDR 797.222,-, the mean of income the fishermen family is IDR 2.577.829,- and the contribution of fishermen’s wife is 32%. The results of the analysis are 94,6%. Factors that singnificantly influence the wifw’s contribution in increasing the income off the fishermen’s family are wife’s income, aducation, number of family dependents, work time bulk and spending.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the level of consumer acceptance and chemical composition of biscuit added with cat fish oil and gruoper oil. About 1 kg of abdominal fat from cat fish and 1 kg of gruoper meat was taken from a fish market in Pekanbaru was prepared,then fish oil could be proccessed. Three types of biscuit were fortifed with 0%, 10% and 20% of cat fish oil and grouper oil. Biscuit was evaluated for consumer acceptance and chemical composition (water, lipid, protein and free lipid acids). The results indicated that biscuit was fortified with 10% of cat fish oil and gruoper oil was the most prefereble by consumer. Water, lipid, protein and free lipid acids content of biscuit was 3,01%, 10,04%, 5,57% and 0,15% respectively.

Abstract

This research was conducted since September until November 2008 atthe Water Quality Management and Paracyties and Desease of Fish LaboratoryFaculty of Fishery and Marine Science Riau University. The aims of this researchwas to identify the damage of gill tissue structure red tilapia (Oreochromisniloticus). This research using experimental method and use completed randomdesign 1 factor with 4 treatments and 3 replications. This research using red tilapiathe measure of 8-10 cm, weight 30-40 gram from the hatchery in Pekanbaru.Result of the research show the toxicant giving effect on gill structure changes ofred tillapia fish. Fish of treatment experience of the change of structure of gillnetwork, especially happened by the nekrosis, proliferasi cells, a few moltenlamella, haemorhage and there are worm, and also secondary lamella.Concentration of toxicant hence smaller footage and apart between secondarylamella of red tillapia fish. On the contrary, excelsior of concentration of toxicant,hence wide progressively secondary lamella of gill red tillapia fish. Result of theexperiments indicated that toxicant of the AlK(SO4)212H2O concentrations havean effect on the gills tissue structure of red tilapia. Concentrations of toxicantincrease caused the gills tissue structure came to be better.

Abstract

This research was conducted  from September  to December  2016 in the Peat Land Kualu Nenas village, Tambang Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The aim of this research was to find out the influence and biofertilizer different to increase phytoplankton abudance, and water quality parameters. The method used in this study is an experimental method, using a Complete Random Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments used in this experimental is P0 (without biofertilizer), P1 (human fecal biofertilizer), P2 (cow fecal biofertilizer) and P3 (chicken fecal biofertilizer), the treatments gived Azotobacter and Lumbricus rubellus, 7,88 cfu ml/m2  and 1,2 kg/m2  respectualy. The measure of parameters is type and abundance of phytoplankton, water quality parameter analysis and ground peat, abundance of zooplankton, and chlorophyll-a primary productivity analysis.Result of this research shown that human fecal biofertilizer could increase of ground peat pond productivity. This experiment was prove  the  highest  abundance  total  of phytoplankton  was  113.500  cell.L-1 and chlorophyll-a was 48,859 µg/l. Human fecal biofertilizer could increasethe water quality like pH (6,8), Therm (27-320C), Dissolved Oxygen (3,0-4,83 ppm), Nitrat (4,396-14,059  ppm),  orthophospat  (2,114  – 8,915  ppm).  The analysis  of PCA (Princip   Component   Analysis) shown the physical parameter, chemichal parameter and phytoplankton abundance, the primary productivity. The biplot component was 95,11%. The first component was 75,19%   and the second component was 19,92%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted from 18 March until 16 May 2011 in Research Station of Fisheries and Marine Science Riau University. The objective of the research was to find out the suitable fish meal as long as domestication activities on the growth and survival rates of Thynnichthys thynnoides Blkr. The fish meal used in this research was shrimp pellet, snail meat, chicken intestines and vegetables. Fish were reared in the 0.5 m x 0.5 m x 0.5 cages for 60 days with stocking density of 25 fish/m3 cage. The method used in this research was completed randomized design method with four treatments and three replications. Results showed that the best absolute growth rate of 19.02 grams, daily growth rates of 2.304 % were obtained in the treatment of dried pellet combining with vegetables, while the worst performance was obtained in treatment of dried pellet combining with vegetables with growth rate of 12.39 grams and daily growth rate of 2.134 % respectively. Water quality parameters recorded in the research were water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and NH3 of 27 – 30 oC; 6 – 7; 4 – 4.6 ppm; 0.006 – 0.024 ppm respectively.Keywords : Domestication, Thynnichthys thynnoides Blkr, Fish meal.
