Abstract

Religious discourse is one of the instruments that are often used by the dominant class (the majority, who are in power) to carry out a symbolic violence mechanism against the dominated class (the minority, who are ruled). For example, through religious discourses that seem plural and open, the power and domination of the dominant class are continuously perpetuated. This study aims to analyze the symbolic violence that occurs in religious discourse in Indonesia, especially in the study of religion, by reviewing the discourse of “agama vs. kepercayaan” and “moderasi beragama”. The symbolic violence referred to here is, according to Pierre Bourdieu's theory, violence that does not appear asviolence and is latent. Victims of this type of violence do not feel that they are victims ofviolence as if what happened was natural and it should have been. This study also argues that symbolic violence in religious discourse in Indonesia is widely produced in educational institutions, especially through the hands of academics, because through educational institutions, discourses of “agama vs. kepercayaan” and “moderasi beragama” are formulated and then implemented in government policies, as if the discourse has accommodated all religions and beliefs, but only perpetuates the way of thinking and tastes of the dominant class. In short, this study argues that religious discourses such as “agama vs. kepercayaan” and “moderasi beragama” are produced by the dominant class through educational institutions and so on and produce symbolic violence.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to answer the problems of education in Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. One form of this problem is the phenomenon of culture shock faced by students during online distance learning. It is caused due to the change of learning environment. The form of culture shock is that students feel anxious and nervous when they have to carry out distance learning. This research approaches literature study by collecting various sources of data. The results of this study indicate that cyber multicultural counselling is a multicultural counselling service that is carried out remotely. The focus of this counselling is to help students to be able to adapt to new situations and conditions, from face-to-face learning culture to distance learning. Then the measure that multicultural cyber counselling really becomes an alternative problem-solving shock culture is asfollows. First, students need to adapt to the new environment and culture in the learning process, therefore special attention needs to be paid to understanding the conditions of the learning culture that is currently changing. The special attention is in the form ofproviding direction, support, and motivation that the Covid-19 pandemic condition does require adaptation. Second, namely the psychological condition of students who tend tobe unstable in accepting new things, such as the Covid-19 pandemic. The unstable psychological condition is caused by the limited mindset of students regarding the current conditions that actually occur. Therefore, there needs to be proper handling so that the psychological condition of students is able to understand the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. The handling is by providing educational entertainment that can be providedby the BK teacher. The form of educative entertainment is adjusted to the creative abilities and competencies of the BK teachers in each school. The third is multicultural cyber counselling as a form of support for the government to carry out social distancing and psychological distancing so that the Covid-19 pandemic can be completed and can minimize the spread of Covid-19 in school clusters.

Abstract

In the book Al arba'in fi ushul al din it is said that perfect happiness is happiness that includes two dimensions, namely the world dimension and the hereafter dimension. Happiness in the world can be felt with a peaceful soul. Happiness in the afterlife is the happiness of meeting and communicating with Allah (Ahmad Faizur Rosyad, Pole: 2004) (Zaairul, 73). In Man's search for Meaning, Dr. Viktor E. Frankl, professor of psychiatry at the University of Vienna wrote, “Man's search for meaning in life is themain force in his life and is not a secondary rationalization of instinctual movement” (J. Maurus, Cinta Pena : 2005). Achieving happiness and peace of mind is actually not as simple as we think. Why is that? Because to achieve it requires a series of efforts that always consider the needs, risks, and the sense of value created. Even the natural potential that we have, such as our psyche and our organs, is also taken into consideration (Zairul, 74).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the wisdom and educational values of the verses of Muhkamat and Mutasyabihat in the Qur'an. Al-Quran is a guide, a resource and reference for all people. All things related to Al-Quran is deemed noble and commendable. Therefore, the study of AlQuran still continues because it contains very broad and deep , including problems muhkam and mutasyabih. “Ayat muhkam” is the subject of the Qur'an, and there are some “ayat mutasyabih” whose meaning is restored to “ayat muhkamat”. Takwil to “ayat mutashabihat” done not only by khalaf generation, but the generation of the Salaf (the first three centuries of Hijra) also did the same thing. The method used in this research is library research where the writer tries to find, compile and analyze various information through various related sources. The Qur'an has functions as a bayan (explanatory) and hudan (guidance) which contains an explicit verse or muhkam. Besides, it also has functions as the greatest miracle and literary book in human history which contains an implicit verse or mutasyabih that will never end to be studied and researched. Muhkamat and mutasyabihat verses are two complementary things in the Qur'an. There is an immeasurable wisdom and educational value for both. Therefore, in learning and understanding both is as well as learning the wisdom of decreasing the Qur'an itself.

Abstract

The rise of negative discourse in the consequences of 9/11 put a strong pressureon Muslim-majority countries. The norm of terrorism or extremism is often attached to the idea of jihad which adhered to Islam. The implication of these diffusion is actually forcing many actors to restore Islam ideas that are not related to terrorism or extremism. Moderate Islam as an alternative norm finally tried to restore the previously diffused norm of Islam. Moderate Islam is then widely echoed in many countries. One of them is Indonesia, which has a Muslim-majority population. In this study, the researchers took the related literatures that describe, firstly, how far the norm of moderate Islam were raised in international discourseand then how far Indonesia was able to emerge the norm. Therefore, the researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. From the results of the study, the researchers noted that there were dynamic results in emerging the norm of moderate Islam, especially in Indonesia. The norm emergence of Wasathiyyah which contained in the norm of moderate Islam is considered to have succeed involving many community groups and government institutions in solidarity to emerge Wasathiyyah. The dynamics of emerging these norms in Indonesia cannot be separated from both domestic and international incentives. The researchers concluded that the norm of moderate Islam has reached a tipping point in international discourse which of course cannot be shattered from the influence of Muslim-majority countries such as Indonesia, despite the emergence of this norms was contested by extremism norm in the restoration of Islam norms. Thus, the researchers advocated for urging more actors, motives, and mechanisms to carry out the norm so that it can be absolutely legitimized in the international discourse.
