Abstract

Metafora termasuk gaya bahasa yang sering digunakan oleh pengarang dalam karya sastranya, tak terkecuali dalam novel. Metafora menjadi gaya bahasa yang menarik dikaji dalam bidang kajian linguistik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menelaah gaya bahasa  metafora dalam novel Chicago karya Alaa al-Aswany melalui  keterkaitan antara unsur struktural dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah teks terjemahan novel Chicago. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak dengan teknik kepustakaan. Sementara metode analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan mendeskripsikan data temyan yang terdapat dalam novel Chicago karya Alaa al-Aswany. Fokus kajian dalam penelitian ini ialah gaya bahasa metafora yang ditinjau dari teori Koveces. Hasil penelitian menemukan tujuh  tipe perbandingan, empat tipe metafora konseptual, tiga tipe visual tentang fisik manusia,visual alam dan visual benda dan tiga tipe perbandingan makna.

Abstract

Usually, some of us understand the types of times of fi'il with a monotonous understanding. Fi'il madhi is understood only with the meaning of the past, mudhari' with the meaning of the present and future and fi'il amr which is only intended for the future. This understanding is not in accordance with the existing reality because the meaning of the time of the fi'ils was not narrow, such as fi'il madhi which not only means the past, but also present or future or continuous. The author used Al Quran, Surah Yasin, as the object of this research. The aim of this research is to find out what are the various types of times of fi'il madhi in Surah Yasin. The method used in this research was a qualitative-descriptive method. Using this method, the author collected and grouped the data that had been collected. Then, it was analyzed and described the data based on the theories related to this research. The results found that there are 82 fi'il madhi which were not only have the meaning of the past, but also Qarib, Mustaqbal, and Istimrar.

Abstract

Perplexity.ai is very helpful in the world of translation. This study aims to analyze the translation errors produced by Perplexity.ai from morphological, syntactic, and semantic aspects. This research is a descriptive qualitative method. The data analysis technique of this research uses a content analysis technique. This study examines the translation errors of CNN Indonesia's news entitled "House of Senior Hamas Commander in West Bank Leveled by Israeli Military" into Arabic through Perplexity.ai application from morphological, syntactic, and semantic aspects. This study shows that the translation from Indonesian into Arabic using Perplexity.ai application is not fully accurate, because there are still many errors in various aspects of the language. Errors in the semantic aspect are the most common, syntactic errors are the least common, and morphological errors are the least common.

Abstract

Tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah mengungkap nilai-nilai nasionalisme dan kategorinya, serta faktor yang mempengaruhi munculnya nasionalisme dalam karya Saad Pasha Zaghlul, salah seorang sastrawan kontemporer dari Mesir. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan nasionalisme, baik nasionalisme dalam pengertian sempit, maupun nasionalisme dalam pengertian luas. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat diketahui bahwa di antara nilai nasionalisme dalam karya sastra Saad Pasha Zaghlul  adalah tidak ada penjajahan, tidak ada perbudakan, dan tidak ada campur tangan asing dalam urusan negeri Mesir. Munculnya nilai nasionalisme dalam hasil karya sastra Saad Pasha Zaghlul ini dipengaruhi oleh nilai- nilai nasionalisme yang tertanam dalam dirinya, yang diakibatkan oleh adanya penjajahan Inggris  di Mesir. Usaha yang dapat dilakukannya adalah menciptakan karya sastra yang berisi nilai-nilai nasionalisme, agar rakyat Mesir memiliki semangat untuk memperjuangkan kemerdekaan negaranya. Dari pembahasan ini dapat diketahui juga  bahwa seorang sastrawan boleh jadi dapat dipengaruhi beberapa faktor dalam menciptakan hasil karyanya, diantaranya faktor politik.

Abstract

This research analyzes the changes in the main character’s  fate in the short story "Nicosia" by Saadi Youssef through the review of actant scheme and functional structure. It uses a qualitative paradigm with the Algirdas Julien Greimas (A.J. Greimas) narrative semiotics analysis approach. The formal object in this research is A.J. Greimas's semiotics, and the material object is the short story "Nicosia" already published on the website nizwa.com. The results and discussion show that the main character experiences a significant change in fate. The results and discussion show that the main character experiences a significant change in fate. Starting from the initial situation as someone with an uncertain life fate and troubled by anxiety, it ends with the main character's self-situation full of peace and tranquility. Several phenomena in the story are explained in the transformation that begins from the initial situation to result in the final situation. The placement of the main character as the subject, other supporting characters who act as helpers, and several things received by the main character can form a functional structure of the story that is limited to the isotop of space and time.

Abstract

Lisanuddin Ibnu al-Khatib is one of famous poets in his period. Besides of his famous poet status, he was also a good writer, sword expert, good archer and a scholar. He had organized a lot of literary works include poetry, history, geography, etc. Hence, this paper would like to explain more about his biography and literary works whose aim to understand his literary works characteristics. In this case, we, the writers use descriptive analyzing towards his works which then clarify the data of analysis got from learning and understanding his poetry and other literary works of him. One the example of his works is “fī layālin katamat sirr al-hawā # fī al-dujā laulā syumūs al-gurarī”. The writers identify the use of “Balāgah” elements such as: kināyah, tasybīh mursal mufaṣṣal, jinās gairu tām, isti’ārah taṣrīḥīyah. Briefly, Lisanuddin also apply the elements of Arūḍ wa al-Qawāfī. In addition, the most obvious characteristics of his literary works is that he uses easy words in order the reader easily understand his works.
