Abstract

The discourse on human rights and gender equality has become a major theme in contemporary religious and social studies. This research explores the representation of human dignity and gender justice values in the Qur’an as a normative Islamic ethical foundation for human rights. Employing a thematic exegesis (maudhū‘ī) method combined with critical hermeneutics and a contextual-interpretative approach, this study systematically analyzes relevant Qur’anic verses to uncover meanings aligned with modern social ethics. It also critically compares the perspectives of scholars such as Abdullahi An-Na'im, Amina Wadud, and Fazlur Rahman in integrating human rights into Islamic theology. The findings reveal that the Qur’an strongly upholds the principles of universal justice, protection of human dignity, freedom of belief, and gender equality, emphasizing piety and social accountability. This study contributes a constructive Qur’anic synthesis that offers inclusive and progressive interpretations relevant to current debates on social and gender justice.

Abstract

Abstract

Social media is one of the alternatives for delivering information quickly, and it offers various platforms, including YouTube. Anyone can access these platforms, such as the YouTube channel Adi Hidayat Official. This account contains uploaded Islamic-themed videos with various delivery methods. Among these videos is one titled ”About Iman, Islam, and Iḥsān.”In presenting this theme, Ustadz Adi Hidayat conveys a hadith commonly known as the Hadith of Jibrīl (Gabriel). This research aims to examine how the hadith is presented on the Adi Hidayat Official channel, as well as the exegetical reception and functional reception of the hadith. The study employs a qualitative method with direct observation of the video on the Adi Hidayat Official YouTube channel under the theme ”About Iman, Islam, and Iḥsān” as the primary source. Additionally, a literature review approach is used as a secondary source related to the research topic.The findings indicate that in delivering the hadith, Ustadz Adi Hidayat presents it in his religious lecture (tausiyah) to provide understanding to the audience as an argument or motivation in worship. He emphasizes that **Islam, Iman, and Iḥsān** are closely interconnected and complementary in attaining the pleasure of Allah (swt). The study also explores the exegetical and functional reception of the hadith as presented.

However, at-Tarmasi (d. 1920 AD) emerged as a differentiator by introducing the book Manhaj Dzawin Al-Nazhar as the main reference in studying hadith and the sciences within it. This article serves as a resource to explore the role of at-Tarmasi (d. 1920 AD) in the advancement of hadith education in the archipelago through his book Manhaj Dzawin Al-Nazhar. Using a historical approach as a step to seek in-depth information. The steps taken by the author involve four stages: heuristic, criticism, understanding, and destruction, which result in the conclusion that the book Manhaj Dzawin Al-Nazhar is a book of ulumul hadis that serves as a reference for scholars in the archipelago to study hadith. This book also provides seekers of knowledge with an understanding of the importance of a system for studying hadith, which has been adopted by many scholars from the archipelago to teach hadith education in the region

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of integrity from the perspective of the Qur'an using the thematic study method (maudhu'i) combined with a grounded theory approach. The background of this study departs from the problem of the integrity crisis that plagues contemporary society, such as rampant corruption, information manipulation, and a weak sense of responsibility. The Qur'an as the holy book of Muslims presents fundamental values that are relevant to address these challenges. By using the method of collecting and analyzing Qur'anic verses related to integrity (amanah, shidq, istiqamah, and responsibility), this study found that Qur'anic integrity encompasses spiritual and social dimensions. The grounded theory approach allows for the formation of a new theoretical construction of integrity based on the Qur'an, which not only provides honesty in social interactions but also continues to spiritual commitment to Allah SWT. This study concludes that integrity in the Qur'an is a transcendental value that is the basis for the formation of a civilized person and society.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the integration of ecological principles and gender equality within the Qur’anic ethical framework by analyzing selected verses through Tafsir Al-Misbah and Tafsir Al-Azhar. The problem addressed is the gap in understanding the Qur’anic perspective that links environmental preservation with inclusive gender participation. The study employs a thematic interpretation method (tafsir maudhu’i) combined with qualitative literature review and case studies. The results reveal that the Qur’an affirms the principles of balance (mīzān), prohibition of corruption (fasād), and equitable utilization of resources as a mandate of human stewardship (khalīfah). Furthermore, it recognizes equal contributions of men and women in righteous deeds, including environmental protection. The analysis shows that environmental degradation is not only a physical problem but also a moral, social, and structural issue, requiring inclusive cross-gender solutions. The findings contribute to expanding the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah by incorporating ḥifẓ al-bī’ah (environmental preservation) as an essential objective, and they provide a foundation for integrating Qur’anic eco-theology and gender justice into Islamic education curricula.

Abstract

In the Banten Province region, which is known for its cultural and social diversity, gender dynamics are very important to understand. Although women in Banten contribute significantly to various aspects of life, such as economic, social, and political, they often face challenges related to patriarchal gender norms. Historically, women in Banten have played an important role in social and economic life. This research method uses a qualitative approach with the aim of deeply understanding the experiences, views, and perceptions of women in Banten regarding their position and role in society. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and also using the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method, which was held with groups of women to discuss issues related to gender, social roles, and the challenges they face. Women in the Banten region contribute significantly to the economic sector, especially in the informal sector. This result can be seen from data from the Banten Central Statistics Agency (BPS) (2021), around 60% of women in Banten work in the informal sector, which often does not provide legal protection and social security. The results of the study show that women's representation in decision-making in Banten is still low. Data from BPS Banten (2021) shows that only around 15% of women hold strategic positions in local government. Barriers faced by women in politics include lack of support from family, gender stereotypes, and lack of access to political education.
