Abstract

This study aims to uncover the forms of TOAFL learning problems that occur in students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, the causes and solutions to overcome these problems. This research is descriptive in nature using a qualitative approach. Data collection is done through interviews, observations, and documentation using snowball sampling techniques. The collected data are analyzed interactively through data reduction, data presentation, then drawing conclusions. Efforts to validate the data, researchers compared the observations with interviews and documentation, between the results of interviews with one informant with other informants with the same problem. The results of the study revealed that: 1) The form of TOAFL learning problems related to students is the difficulty in translating and understanding reading, poor vocabulary and weakness in mastering Arabic grammar. While the problems related to media and learning facilities are inadequate facilities and infrastructure, lack of use of learning media, minimal and difficulty in obtaining literature in the preparation of teaching materials to be presented. 2) The causes of TOAFL learning problems are: heterogeneous educational backgrounds of students, lack of interest and motivation to learn about TOAFL courses, low levels of student intelligence, and very little lecture time. 3) Efforts made to overcome these problems are by increasing motivation and interest in learning, giving attention and doing a lot of tamrinat (training), completing lecture facilities and facilities, utilizing existing lecture facilities and facilities, as well as getting around and increasing lecture time.

Abstract

Life in the Digital Age is automatically required by someone not to be out of date with a device or device such as a computer or laptop. Data and information even the basic needs of a student can be said to have been stored in a system called a digital system. Everything is available in one system that can and is freely accessed by anyone. as a teacher in utilizing sophisticated tools in this digital age, it is demanded to adjust and apply in the form of a learning as the medium. So one of the things that can be used by a teacher is to use Microsoft Power Point program as a medium in innovating a learning. This paper aims to develop an Arabic learning media by using Microsoft Power Point program as a medium in learning Arabic proficiency.

Abstract

Not a few Arabic teachers complain about their role as teachers and the ineffectiveness of their learning that has been done in the classroom. Many of the things that can cause this, among them because of their ignorance of the concept of effective and efficient learning, how to streamline a learning and also manage a learning, so that learning is carried out is only the transfer of knowledge (knowledge transfer) without full consideration of the goals set. In addition, teachers also lack variety of learning methods and strategies. This paper aims to uncover conceptually about effective and efficient learning in teaching Arabic at the secondary level; how indicators, principles and urgency in a learning so that teachers especially Arabic teachers know how to make an effective learning course with the realization of the goals set.

Abstract

The preliminary research focused on finding out the types of errors committed by the first semester students of Arabic Education of IAI DDI Polewali Mandar. The source of data was the spoken English of self introduction during the English subject. The aims was to analyze some error committed. The errors found from the data: the use of auxiliaries, tenses, prepositions, pronouns, plurals, error in pronunciation and some difficult words, phrase, sentence of the spoken English in during English subject of the Arabic Education of IAI DDI Polewali Mandar. The result of the research were used to decided students’needs and abilty of English on preparing the teaching material that were given in the first semester of 2010/2020 academic year.

Abstract

Media in a learning is among the very important elements in addition to other learning elements such as material, methods and objectives. Media has an important role in realizing learning objectives, with the use of learning media can be efficient and effective. In this paper, the researcher tries to explain about learning media specifically that can be applied in teaching listening skills. Many of the learning media can be used to carry out and streamline learning in listening skills. This type of research is included in qualitative descriptive research or literature research, the research data is the result of studies or information from books and other written works. The learning media that can be applied in teaching listening skills are video media, loudspeakers (with cable and cellular), radio, CD-ROM, acting, face-to-face conversation, educational TV, audio cassettes and language labs.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the problems in learning phonology, various phonetic problems, the cause of their occurrence and how to overcome them. This paper is a qualitative descriptive study with the type of literature review from which the results of scientific research or other books are closely related to the learning of phonology knowledge, problems and ways to overcome them which are then explained descriptively. The results of this paper conclude that: 1) learning phonology in Arabic is very important to teach at the beginning of the teaching of Arabic because errors in saying a word affect the true or meaningless; 2) There are two main problems in general teaching phonology for non-Arab students, namely: problems relating to the direction of education and problems related to linguistic systems that include phonetic errors and pronunciation of a letter and word; 3) The cause of the problem is because it is influenced by the use of mother tongue (first language) in general, so that it cannot distinguish the length or short of a tone, the pronouncement of self-determination letters, pronunciation of syamsiyah and qamariyah letters, pronunciation of letters of the same nature and pronunciation tanwin letters; 4) As for the solutions offered in overcoming the phoneme pronunciation problem are: proactively instructors should develop children's fluency in speaking phonemes, indoctrinate sound sounds in listening and speaking activities, obtain language sounds in reading and writing activities, and design teaching processes through practical training in tongue sports to gain phoneme skills.
