Abstract

Among the four English skills, speaking is the most difficult skill for students. Speaking English is the most worries things for students in this lesson. There are many reasons that make students reluctant to speak English, including afraid of being laughed at by their friends and lack of confidence. Since the implementation of learning from home by the central government due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, students have increasingly never practiced speaking English. It worsens the level of students' anxiety about speaking English. Therefore, this qualitative case study research was created to help reduce students' anxiety in speaking English by using Zoom-Storytelling, especially when they are required to learn from home. FLCAS was used to measure the student's anxiety level. The results showed that Zoom-Storytelling can reduce students' level of anxiety in speaking English. Through this Zoom-Storytelling activity students can still learn face-to-face virtually even though they are not in school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena rendahnya prestasi belajar peserta didik kelas V di SD Negeri 13 Regol yaitu sebanyak 43% siswa nilainya masih berada di bawah kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM). Prestasi belajar merupakan hasil interaksi antara berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi salah satunya adalah motivasi berprestasi. Motivasi berprestasi memberikan andil untuk meraih prestasi belajar yang optimal. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara motivasi berprestasi dan prestasi belajar berdasarkan urutan kelahiran. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan prediktif dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket motivasi berprestasi. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 13 Regol tahun ajaran 2019/2020 yang berjumlah 50 orang dan terdiri atas 4 urutan kelahiran yaitu anak sulung, tengah, bungsu dan tunggal. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik  korelasional. Adapun temuan penelitian yaitu: 1) motivasi berprestasi anak sulung, anak tengah dan anak tunggal berada pada kategori sedang, 2) prestasi belajar anak sulung, tengah, bungsu dan tunggal berada pada kategori sangat baik, 3) tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi berprestasi  dengan prestasi belajar berdasarkan urutan kelahiran.

Abstract

This study aims to see and know the various motivations that make students choose to reside in Islamic boarding schools. The Islamic boarding school in question is the Miftahul Khoir Dago Bandung Islamic Boarding School which is also a place of research. Furthermore, students residing in Islamic boarding schools are referred to as Santri. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach, using observation as a preliminary study, questionnaire distribution, and documentation for extracting and completing data. The subjects in this study were all students of i'dad class students with a total of 66 students, with details of 40 male students and 26 female students. Based on the results of data analysis obtained in the field, it is stated that the motivation of students to choose to live in a pesantren is caused by internal factors based on self-decisions showing a percentage of 78.38%, external factors based on parents' motivation of 75.68%, and factors needs that indicate an average percentage of 79.92%, consisting of (1) physiological needs, (2) security needs, (3) social needs, 4) self-esteem needs / rewards, and (5) self-actualization needs. So that it can be categorized very well, this shows that the results obtained are positive for students who choose to live in boarding schools.

Abstract

Writing a narrative text, although it is just so stories, requires a creative imagination and sufficient knowledge of its genre. This paper aims to find out the students’ difficulty in writing narrative text and offers the pedagogical implication to alternate it. Document analysis was employed to compare narrative texts produced by an expert and three students within SFL framework focusing on experiential meaning. The findings show that the experiential meaning was not well-construed in the students’ texts. The students have not richly developed the plot into a more imaginative story due to the simplicity of the series of events, particularly in the complication stage, the lack of circumstance to build the setting of the story, and the improper number of process types, except material process, signified with the frequent repeated lexical choice. To address the students’ difficulty of building the field of the story, this paper provides a practical pedagogical implication of SFL, experiential meaning in particular, for teaching narrative writing by making use of visual images following Genre-Based Approach and multimodal approach. This paper is expected to contribute to the SFL in teaching practice and inspire EFL teachers to design a creative narrative teaching by using the visual images.

Abstract

Program layanan pendidikan inklusif ini merupakan upaya pemerataan kesempatan pendidikan, program inklusi juga merupakan strategi yang mengakomodir semua keragaman potensi siswa . Dalam pelaksanaan program pendidikan inklusif ada beberapa hal yang harus dipersiapkan: Para siswa, manajemen, pendidik dan kurikulum. Mengacu pada pemaparan , penulis bermaksud untuk meneliti kesiapan lembaga TK dalam menyelenggarakan program pelayanan pendidikan yang iklusif.
