Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of liquid smoke from oil palm empty fruit bunches on the durability of oil palm trunk particleboard (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) and to determine the optimum concentration of liquid smoke. The method of research is an experiment carried out in completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of three treatments and three replications. Particle board made with three types of layers, with the size of 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm, the target density of 0.8 g / cm3, compression temperature 140oC, pressure of 25 kg / cm2 for 10 minutes. Adhesive used is Urea Formaldehyde with a concentration of 16% for the surface layer (face) and bottom (back) and 14% for the middle layer (core) with a solid content 52%. The treatment used is liquid smoke with concentration 0%, 5% and 10%. Testing the durability of particle board using baiting methods to subterranean termite Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren for 21 days. The results of research showed that the oil palm trunk particleboard with liquid smoke concentration level of 10% was the best 2 vality the mortality value 100%. Meanwhile the best result for particleboard weight loss was achived on liquid smoke level 5% with average value 0.45% from physical, mechanical and durability properties of particleboard made from oil palm with liquid smoke, the best result was achieved on particleboard with level 10%. Key words:          Urea formaldehyde, liquid smoke, Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren, durability particleboard

This study aims to determine the number of individuals and individuals density of bornean gibbon in lines interpretation baka hill in the region Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park Melawi District. Number of individuals were found at the time of the study with 6 lanes and 3 replication by 99 individuals with a mean number of individuals bornean gibbon at 33,0001 individuals. Results of data analysis on a 95% confidence interval bornean gibbon individuals density lies between 0,4377 individuals/Ha to 0,6621 individuals/Ha. Whereas the 99% confidence interval bornean gibbon individual density lies between 0,3625 individuals/Ha to 0,7373 individuals/Ha. To the number of individuals per hectare with 95% confidence interval obtained by the number of individuals throughtout the area ranged from 5 to 6 tails. For a 99% confidence interval obtained by the number of individuals ranged from 4 to tails. Keyword: Density, individuals, Bornean Gibbon, Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park.

Abstract

Primates play an important role in protecting the forest. Rentap Hill neighborhood has been designated as Protected Forest Menhutbun through Decree No. 405 / KPTS--II 1999 Dated June 14, 1999. Rentap Protected Forest Hill has an area of about 750 ha, with a total length of 9.70 km and a height limit of 50-658 m asl. This study aims to find out the type - the type of primates in Forest Hill Rentap Hedges. The method used is the transect method with the path length of 500 m, width of track: 100 m. The tools used in this study is the location map, compass, camera, meter, tally sheet, primate identification books, binoculars and GPS. The number of primates are found at least 138 individuals consisting of 3 individual species in secondary forests as much as 74 tails, while the forest around the village as much as 64 tails. Secondary forest has a diversity index that is higher by (1.007782), the forest around perkampungan (0.692658), suggesting that the high number of primate species in a habitat causes the higher the index value. Forests around the township has a greater dominance index is (0.500488) compared to secondary forests by (0.386777). Secondary forest has an index higher species richness of (1.069958) than the forest around the village of (0.553655). Similarity index between secondary forest types and forest around the village of (0.434782), this value indicates the level of similarity of constituent populations are not much different. Hunting primates in locations Protect Forest Hill Rentap, it should be done in collaboration between community protection or in the vicinity of natural resource conservation efforts in order to avoid scarcity and even extinction as klampiau primates, kukang, as well as other wildlife. Abstract

Danau Wisata Sejarah Sebaddang (DWSS) is one of the tourist attractions located in Sambas district, but most of the environmental services offered do not yet have a market value. Hence the need for an approach to determine the economic value of the benefits obtained in order to estimate the magnitude of demand and consumer surplus. The purpose of this study was to determine the benefits of recreation and makes predictions collecting admission price fixing. To achieve the purpose of the study used the Travel Cost Method. The object of research was the visitors who come to the DWSS. Recreation demand equation Y = 52,906 - 0,001X. At the ticket price Rp.6000,- /person has Rp.4.081,- consumer surplus value, visits to the value of the average willingness to pay Rp.10.081, - /person and the value of the economic benefits of Rp.72.772.392,- /year. This means that if the manager wants to improve tourist facilities it should at least be set ticket prices Rp.10.081,- /person. Key words : Sebaddang lake, benefit, natural recreation
