This study aims to explain how the working ethos of the fishermen community at Bagan Kuala village Tanjung Beringin sub-district Serdang Bedagai regency and the implementation of this working ethos in improving their welfare of life. This type of research is qualitative with the anthropological-naturalistic approach which is adopted from the theory of Symbolic Anthropology built by Clifford Geertz.it is used as the main theory to understand the symbolic phenomena of economic anthropology and social psychology and Islamic economic philosophy about working ethos of fishermen community at Bagan Kuala village, Tanjung Beringin sub-district, Serdang Bedagai regency. The result of this study is that the Islamic teachings are not totally applied among the fishermen community of Bagan Kuala village. This then causes the working ethos of the fishermen to become low. The working ethos in Islamic teachings is understood among them only as an effort to fulfill obligation only. There is no effort to increase the obligation as motivation of the working ethos in order to make the working ethos of them become higher. In attempting to improve the life welfare of the fishermen community at Bagan Kuala village, they must maintain the implementation of working ethos based on efficiently spending time, sincere intention, commitment on determination and belief, not easily giving up, and istiqamah. The implementation of working ethos is based on frugality life, efficiency and honest attitude.

In order to achieve satisfactory performance, professional capability is required and it must go through several stages and conditions. Formal education is still inadequate to achieve professional skills, therefore, companies or organizations should work to improve the quality of their employees' performance through training, education and development. In regard to management and leadership system at the Islamic University of North Sumatra it was identified that employess’ performance has not shownthe expected results. Therefore this research was done to see further more on how the training and motivation that organized by the instituions effect to the performance of employees, and to analyzewhether the leaders as moderating variables might strengthen the training and motivation variables on employees’ performance at the Islamic University of North Sumatra. The data collection in this research was conducted through survey approach with quantitative descriptive research type by distributing questionnaires to 46 people. Data analysis method was using multiple linear regression method with data processing through SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). The result showed that simultaneously training and work motivation have a positive and significant impact on the performance of employees at the Islamic University of North Sumatra. Partially, training and motivation respectively have a positive and significant impact on the performance of the employees at the Islamic University of North Sumatra. Besides it, the results showed that the training variable was dominat aspect effecting to the performance of employees, whileleaders as moderating variable did not effect to the training and work motivation on employees’ performance. The coefficient of determination (adjusted R square) showed the ability of training and work motivation could explain the variation of employee performance and was strong enough, while the rest was influenced by other variables beyond variables of this study such as work discipline and compensation.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahu ipengaruh pendidikan terhadap peningkatan produktivitas kerja karyawan di PT. Bank SUMUT Medan. Untuk mengetahuai pengaruh pelatihan terhadap peningkatan produktivitas kerja karyawan di PT. Bank SUMUT Medan.Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan dan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kerja karyawan di PT. Bank SUMUT Medan. Perumusan masalah ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan dan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kerja karyawan di PT. Bank SUMUT Medan. Teknik analisis yang penulis gunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskripti fmetode kuantitatif, regresi linier berganda, uji t, uji f dan koefisien determinan yang diolah dengan SPSS versi 20. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahuai bahwa pendidikan mempunyai pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan di PT.Bank SUMUT Medan. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil uji t yang memperoleh nilaithitung X1 = 1,525 diterima pada taraf signifikan 5%. Pelatihan mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap produktivitas kerja karyawan di PT. Bank SUMUT Medan. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil uji t yang memperoleh nilaithitung X2 = 2,460 diterima pada taraf signifikan 5%. Pendidikan dan pelatihan secara bersama – sama mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap semangat kerja karyawan di PT. Bank SUMUT Medan. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil uji F yang memproleh nilaiFhitung sebesar 14,226 diterima pada taraf signifikan 5%.

The formulation of the problems in this study are (1) whether there is an influence of emotional intelligence on improving employee performance at PT. KAI Belawan Station. (2) whether there is an influence of motivation on improving employee performance at PT. KAI Belawan Station. (3) whether there is an influence between emotional intelligence and motivation on employee performance at PT. KAI Belawan Station. The purpose of this study is (1) to find out whether there is an influence of emotional intelligence on the performance of employees at PT. KAI Belawan Station. (2) to find out whether there is an influence of motivation on employee performance at PT. KAI Belawan Station. (3) to find out whether there is an influence between emotional intelligence and motivation on employee performance at PT. KAI Belawan Station. The sample in this study were 31 people with data analysis techniques in this study using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study explain that emotional intelligence does not have a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT. KAI Belawan Station, while motivation has a positive and significant effect on the performance of PT. KAI Belawan Station. F test results state that emotional intelligence and motivation have a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT. KAI Belawan Station. The determination test shows that 40.2% of employee performance variables can be explained by the variables in this study and the remaining 59.8% can be explained by other variables not included in this study.

This research aims to know and explain how the influence of computerized learning and facilities to the mastery ability of application of students at the Faculty of Economics of Islamic University of North Sumatera. In this study use a descriptive method. The data collection techniques used in this study were polls, library studies and interviews to support this research. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of computerized learning and facilities to the mastery ability of student applications at the Faculty of Economics of Islamic University of North Sumatera. The population in this study is a student management study program that is still active in the faculty of Economics at the Islamic University of North Sumatera, which amounted to 580 people, the sample in this study is 10% of the population, namely of 58 people with a total of 30 questions. Based on analysis and evaluation, the result of calculation using multiple linear regression in the form of T test (partial) between computerized learning (X1) test T (simultaneous) obtained T count t table, which is 6,539 1,672 of Student Application Mastery ability (Y) while relationship or partial correlation between facility (X2) on Student Application Mastery Ability (Y) has t count T table which is 3,768 1,672 and test F (simultaneous) Obtained the value f count = 34,252 F table 2,764 because F count f table, then H0 rejected and Ha accepted then it can be concluded that Silmultan variables free learning ability and the work facility to variable binding ability Application.

This research aims to determine and analyze the influence of work involvement, work attitude and organizational commitment on the performance employees of Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, both partially and simultaneously. The sample in this research amounted to 63 people taken using the stratified random sampling method. The results showed : 1) work involvement had a positive and significant effect on the performance employees of Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Mandailing Natal; 2) work attitude has a positive and significant effect on the performance employees of Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Mandailing Natal; 3) organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on the performance employees of Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Mandailing Natal; 4) work involvement, work attitude and organizational commitment have a positive and significant effect on the performance employees of Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. The performance employees is able to be influenced by work involvement, work attitude and organizational which amounted to 53.9%, while the remaining 46.1% was influenced by other variables not examined in this research.

This study is to investigate whether communication skill and recruitment system effect to employee performance. This study is held in the PT. Bhanda Ghara Reksa Medan and involved 61 employees as sample of the study. It is assumed that due to the poor communication among employees some assignments cannot be carried out by the others as expected. Recruitment system is also a factor that causes to job performance when the selected candidates are not in accordance with their educational background or job experiences. This quantitative study is descriptive explorative with questionnaire as an instrument to attain the data and analyzed by multiple linear regression. The data is also processed by using coefficient of determination test simultaneously (F-test) and partial test (t-test). The result indicates that communication skill and selection system in employee recruitment simultaneously and partially have significant effect on employee performance with coefficient of determination value is 0.731. The communication and selection (recruitment) have an effect on employee performance with 73,10% (percentage level), while the rest is 26.90% influenced by other factors that are not examined such as leadership, motivation, and work discipline. Based on the overall results of the study, it is concluded that both communication and selection system effect to employee performance at PT. Bhanda Ghara Reksa Medan

The Problem formulation in this research is how the influence of motivation, welfare and the spirit of WORK on the performance of the employee PT. Agrotech Pesticide Industry Medan, and the purpose of this research is To know and analyze The influence of motivation, welfare and the work spirit to the performance of employees at PT. Agrotech Pesticide Industry Medan. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques are conducted through interviews,questionnairequestions and documentation studies. The samples in this study were as many as 45 employees. Variables are measured at Likert scale. Hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analyses through F-test and T-Test. The Results of the test in Unison showed that motivation, prosperity and the spirit of work positively and significantly affect the performance variables of employees PT. Agrotech Pesticide Industry Field coefficient value of determination of 0.637 or 63.7%. Partially, the motivation has a positive and significant impact on the employee's performance of PT. Agrotech Pesticide Industry Medan with a regression coefficient value of 0.432 or 43.2%. Prosperity has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT. Agrotech Pesticide Industry Medan with a regression coefficient value of 0.347 or 34.7%. The Spirit of work positively and significantly influence the employee performance of PT. Agrotech Pesticide Industry Medan with a regression coefficient value of 0.305 or 30.5%. The highest value of a regression coefficient is a motivation of 0.432 or 43.2%
