Abstract

This research examines the  influence of good corporate governance  (GCG) practices  on  the earnings sustainability of  companies listed  in  the Jakarta Islamic Index.  Additionally, it explores the role of green accounting in the relationship between GCG and  sustainable earnings.  GCG is represented by management ownership,  boards of commissioners,  the  audit  committee,  and institutional ownership.  Green accounting is measured  using the corporate environmental management  (PROPER) results,  which  are aligned with the regulations of the  Ministry  of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia. Data analysis was carried out using panel data regression  analysis.  The findings indicate that GCG components (management  ownership, boards of commissioners, and audit committee) positively  impact sustainable earnings.  Moreover, green accounting has been empirically proven to moderate the positive effect of GCS on sustainable earnings.  Based on the sustainability theory, companies tend to undertake ethical and legal measures to achieve sustainable performance. Thus, sustainability theory suggests that the synergy between corporate governance and green accounting may improve earnings sustainability.JEL: M14, M41, L25.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the role of green atmospherics and customer well-being on customer satisfaction and revisit intention at the City Hotel sector of Surabaya. The sample was selected using purposive sampling based on three criteria: guests/visitors who visited more than twice, over 25 years old and stayed more than two days. Over six months, 300 questionnaires were distributed to guests and visitors of hotels in central Surabaya, classified as part of the City Hotel sector of Surabaya. The results showed that about 87% or 261 questionnaires were returned and used for analysis. The research was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that green atmospherics and customer well-being positively and significantly influence customer satisfaction in the City Hotel Sector of Surabaya. Furthermore, green atmospherics and customer well-being positively influence the revisit intention in this sector.JEL: E24, E220, I25, I140.

Abstract

Poverty is a crucial issue that affects various social and economic aspects in Indonesia, requiring severe attention to achieve sustainable development. This study aims to analyse the impact of economic growth, income distribution, human development index (HDI), government social assistance, and consumption on poverty levels in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research approach with secondary data from Statistics Indonesia for 2019-2023, this study employs panel data regression analysis using EViews 13 to examine the relationship between variables. The findings indicate that economic growth, income distribution, and HDI significantly impact poverty reduction, while government social assistance and consumption do not show a significant influence. These findings imply the need for inclusive economic growth, fairer income distribution, and investments in human capital development. Moreover, there is a need to improve the design of social assistance programs and strategies to promote productive consumption to be more effective in reducing poverty. This highlights the importance of targeted and integrated policies to address poverty in Indonesia comprehensively.JEL: I32, O15, H53.

Abstract

This study analyses the effect of carbon emission reporting and environmental performance on mining companies"™ market value which is listed on the IDX (Indonesian Stock Market). Based on sample criteria, 47 company samples were selected for 5 years (2018 "“ 2022), resulting in 235 data samples. This study employs the panel data regression method which is processed using Eviews software. Before data analysis, a model selection test was carried out, and the fixed effect model was chosen as the best fit. The data model"™s feasibility was then tested using classical assumption tests. This investigation reveals a negative correlation between environmental performance and firm value, indicating that environmental performance does not enhance company value. However, voluntary carbon emissions report a positive influence on firm valuation. This research contributes to the literature on corporate environmental responsibilities and their impact on various stakeholders.JEL: G30, G32.

Abstract

The growth of the global cosmetic industry, including in Indonesia, is supported by technology and internet development, with Instagram content marketing playing a key role in shaping positive brand meaning through customer engagement. This study aims to analyse the role of content marketing aspects on customer engagement. This research used a quantitative approach based on data collected through PT WOW's Instagram posts. MANOVA is used to analyse the influence of several independent variables (content marketing aspects) on more than one dependent variable (number of likes and comments) simultaneously. A total of 1,119 posts were collected over the last 20 months, recorded based on the number of likes, comments, and content. The results of this study state that uploads containing the call to win, the call to act, and the pure question will generate higher customer engagement. Uploads containing benefit-centric content can also create higher customer engagement. Companies can use the managerial implications of this research to select content to be uploaded and aim to attract consumers and increase consumer engagement.JEL: M20, M31.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of growth in key industrial sectors on labor absorption in Indonesia, using time series data from 2011Q1 to 2023Q4 and employing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. This method captures the long-term and short-term relationships between industrial growth and labor absorption. The findings reveal that, in the long term, the oil and gas processing industry, non-oil and gas manufacturing, trade, and finance sectors significantly influence labor absorption. In contrast, the agriculture and mining sectors do not show a significant long-term effect. However, in the short term, all variables display varying impacts. Interestingly, the agriculture and mining sectors exhibit significant short-term effects despite their lack of long-term influence. This study contributes to the unemployment literature and suggests that the Indonesian government should focus on industrialisation to reduce unemployment. Industrialisation can stimulate job creation and support sustainable economic growth. These findings highlight the need for well-targeted policy strategies to optimise the industrial sector's role in reducing unemployment and enhancing economic stability.JEL: B22, E24, L60.

Abstract

This research seeks to delve into the role of Knowledge Management Capability (KMC), Dynamic Capability (DC), and Ambidexterity Innovation (IA) in fostering Business Performance (BP) amongst Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province of East Java. A quantitative approach was employed for this study, distributing questionnaires to various SMEs in East Java. Employing a non-probability sampling technique, 96 SMEs in East Java were selected as respondents based on Cochran's formula. The data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the interrelations among the constructs. This study provides a deeper understanding of how Knowledge Management Capability and Dynamic Capability contribute to Ambidexterity Innovation. The findings also suggest how Ambidexterity Innovation potentially boosts the Business Performance of SMEs in East Java. This research is distinguished by its emphasis on the interplay of Knowledge Management Capability and Dynamic Capability in influencing Innovation Ambidexterity within the context of East Java's SMEs.JEL: J24; O15; O32.

Abstract

Organisations face various environmental challenges that ultimately influence their green practices, particularly among employees. The study aims to test and analyse the effect of environmental awareness on green behavior, with adaptive leadership acting as a mediator. The research was conducted in the food industry in East Java, involving 173 respondents, 32 managers, and 141 employees. The sampling technique was non-probability sampling, with purposive sampling used for sample selection. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative methods, specifically SEM-PLS with Mplus 8 software, to test research hypotheses. The results indicate that environmental awareness has a significant positive effect on employee green behaviour and adaptive leadership. Furthermore, adaptive leadership has a significant positive effect on employee green behaviour. This study also finds that environmental awareness variables positively impact green behaviour, mediated by adaptive leadership in food industry companies in East Java. These findings contribute to the food industry by enhancing green practices, promoting environmental sustainability, and meeting consumer expectations for green products.JEL: D23.
