Abstract

This paper examines the role of Islamic organizations in promoting religious moderation in the digital era, focusing on Indonesia, the largest Muslim-populated country in Asia. The study highlights the importance of digital transformation policies in providing inclusive spaces for balanced and democratic information dissemination. It emphasizes the need for maintaining harmony between Muslims and non-Muslims, particularly in the face of terrorism and Islamophobia. The research employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing document and content analysis to explore how Islamic organizations use digital platforms to counter violent narratives and promote a positive image of Islam. The findings suggest that optimizing digital da'wah through influencers, developing views of religious moderation, and utilizing creative works can effectively engage the younger generation and address misconceptions about Islam. The study underscores the importance of ethical and creative use of social media, collaboration with content creators, and the establishment of online communities to promote positive content and reduce social tensions. This approach contributes to a more harmonious and inclusive global society by fostering better understanding between the Western and Islamic world.

Abstract

One of the main problems in the current scientific context is the tendency for a dichotomy between religion and science, especially in the study of social sciences, which causes scientific exclusivity and gaps in understanding and solving human problems. Islam emphasizes the importance of integration between religion and science as an answer to the complex problems of human life today. Therefore, this research examines Amin Abdullah's thoughts on the integration-interconnection paradigm and its relevance to various social science disciplines. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research method to analyze the idea of integration-interconnection developed by Amin Abdullah. The integration-interconnection paradigm combines various perspectives from two or more scientific disciplines to increase in-depth understanding and offer solutions to complex problems. Amin Abdullah emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration to avoid dichotomy and exclusivity. This research shows that the integration-interconnection paradigm is very relevant in solving human problems, especially in the study of social sciences such as economics, law, and politics, while remaining based on universal and inclusive Islamic principles.

Abstract

Nowadays, along with the dynamics of the times, education is required to transform the learning process, including Islamic religious education. Sharp criticism of the development of epistemology and learning processes that are less reflective and progressive has caused Islamic religious education to be considered to have no significant impact on developing the potential of students in realizing perfect human beings. Based on these problems, academics conduct discourse and evaluation related to multi-perspective Islamic religious education, one of which is through the medium of implementing contextual Islamic religious education. The study entitled Mainstreaming Meaningful Learning Through Contextual Islamic Religious Education basically aims to describe the concept of meaningful, contextual learning and its actualization in Islamic religious education. This study is a library research conducted by writing, clarifying, reducing and presenting data from various documents. The results of the study indicate that contextual learning as an approach in learning is one of the most important aspects in instilling and actualizing meaningfulness in learning. Through four main characteristics activating knowledge, understanding knowledge, applying knowledge, and reflecting knowledge, students are expected to not only understand knowledge but also implement and reflect on it, ensuring it is appropriate and meaningful. Contextual learning can be implemented in three main domains: first, through contextual learning; second, through the development of contextual Islamic religious education materials; and third, through curriculum development that emphasizes contextual aspects.

Abstract

The Dutch East Indies Government's prejudice of the rise of Islamic unity from the indigenous people who could defect to oppose the government made a number of native organizations' activities closely monitored. One of them happened to the Muhammadiyah Scouting organization which was suspected of having a pan-Islamic direction which in the future would have the potential to oppose the government. This phenomenon is based on the flourishing of various scouting organizations in the Dutch East Indies and then the background of the events of nationalism and unity. For this reason, this research will analyze the extent of the orientation of the Muhammadiyah scouting movement during the colonial period in the period 1918-1942. In addition, how was the government prejudiced against Muhammadiyah's scouting activities? This research uses a social approach based on the historical method. The sources used in this research include the archives of the colonial government and Muhammadiyah Scouting. The results of this study show that the Muhammadiyah scouting movement, in this case Hizbul Wathan, has an orientation to educate Muhammadiyah youth, but at the same time equipping them with Islamic teaching which is an important difference compared to other scouting movements. The activities carried out by Hizbul Wathan did not show pan-Islamic activities or tendencies towards rebellion despite the government's strict supervision. However, the influence of other youth organizations that consolidated their power made the government wary and took a number of actions to ban scouting activities including Hizbul Wathan activities. The findings of this research contribute to filling the space in the study of Muhammadiyah history in the field of youth and are expected to arouse the spirit of nationalism and nationalism through the scouting movement among Indonesian youth

Abstract

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of a stressful life, mental balance, which is built from wise reasoning, managed emotions, and controlled self-drive, is an important key in maintaining mental health. This research aims to understand how Zakariya Ar-Razi views the importance of mental balance in maintaining mental health, explain the concept of psychopathology, and explore various treatment approaches that have been developed as an effort to restore body and soul. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, exploring literature in books and previous research containing the psychological thoughts of the character Zakariya ar-Razi. The results of this research show that: 1) Mental balance according to Zakariya ar-Razi is achieved through harmony between the three elements of the soul, namely rational, emotional and vegetative, with the active role of reason in directing and controlling emotions to create psychological stability and moral behavior. 2) In psychopathology, mental disorders according to Zakariya ar-Razi are rooted in an imbalance between reason and emotion, which is triggered by the dominance of desires and inner drives, so they require psychological and rational treatment, not just medical. 3) The treatment approach developed by ar-Razi is comprehensive, integrating humanistic therapy, clinical and spiritual aspects, emphasizing the importance of self-introspection and managing desires as the main factors in the healing process of body and soul (caused by desires and tabi'at).

Abstract

The increasing trend of hijra has given rise to the phenomenon of religious exclusivism among the Hijra Community members in Indonesia. This trend of religious exclusivism raises concerns about the development of radical Islam and intolerance towards Muslim others. This research aimed to explore intra-religious exclusivism of the Hijra Community members, i.e., Majelis Gaul, Sahabat Al-Qur’an, Al-Fath Pemuda Hijrah, and Komunitas Hijrah Jember (KHJ). This research also analyzed the factors that influence exclusivism and their implications for relations with Muslims others. This research collected data through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using three steps: data reduction, data display, and inference. The findings of this research showed that the exclusivism of members of the hijra community varied from open and closed to extreme exclusivism. Furthermore, the factors that influenced exclusivism were the high religious spirit after hijra, religious understanding that introduced only a single truth, family background, religious organizations, and the influence of religious figures to whom they referred. We found that religious exclusivism implied three models of othering practices toward Muslim others: isolationism, persistence in the community with their views, and persistence in their community but tolerating differences in understanding

The research method used in this study involves literature review and content analysis, with data collected from primary and secondary sources to analyze the main themes. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) Transactional Analysis focuses on improving communication through ego state analysis and therapeutic contracts, while Self-Reflection emphasizes spiritual reflection through tabayun and mauizah. (2) Both prioritize self-awareness but differ in their approaches.
