Abstract

Three English fricatives [θ], [ð], and [ʃ] have been confusing many Indonesian people when they pronounce English words. Even though these three sounds are not present in Indonesian, they are found in Arabic. The goal of the research is to reveal if Indonesian Muslims, who are qualified Quran teachers, are able to pronounce English words correctly. The subjects of the research are passive English speakers but still get enough English exposure at college. In order to explore the language phenomenon, qualitative method is applied in this research. Qualitative method is used to describe and clarify experiences in people’s lives. From 60 data involving two subjects, the research showed that the two subjects succeeded in pronouncing 53 English words in total accurately. This phenomenon occurs due to a positive language transfer because Arabic can facilitate them to pronounce some English sounds.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the educational thoughts of the salafis regarding the purpose of Islamic education. The salafi scholars who will be examined and compared regarding the objectives of Islamic education are Shaikh ʾIbn Bāz, Shaikh ʾAl-Albāniy and Shaikh ʾAl-ʿUthaimīn. Based on the place, type of data and source of research, this research is qualitative research and is categorized as library research. Data is collected from primary data sources in the form of written works and biographies and secondary data sources, namely supporting data sources in the form of articles, newspapers, magazines, journals, theses and books from other researchers related to research studies.  After the research was conducted, the following findings were obtained: Shaikh ʾIbn Bāz views that the purpose of Islamic education is the wisdom of human creation itself, namely the monotheism of Allah, which is realized by offering worship only to Allah. Shaikh ʾAl-Albāniy emphasized that the purpose of education is tawheed, which is the foundation of Islam, namely worshiping only Allah, as practiced by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions. Shaikh ʾAl-ʿUthaimīn implies that the purpose of Islamic education is the purpose of the creation of man himself by Allah, namely to monotheize Allah in worship only to Him. The purpose of Islamic education according to these three scholars is in accordance with the wisdom of the purpose of human creation, and in accordance with the da'wah of the prophets and messengers, including the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his companions, namely tawhidullah, to glorify only Allah in worship.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the effectiveness of the mufrodat learning program to improve Arabic language skills in class VIII A students at MTs Jamaluddin Lekong Rebuk. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent pre-test-post-test group one-taled group design. The data collection method used purposive sampling technique. To find out the difference (increase) from before and after the action was carried out, a paired sample t test was carried out with the hypothesis H0 = there was no difference between before and after the action was carried out, and H1 = there was a difference between before and after the action. and after the action. The results of the t-test showed that after being given the action, the post-test score of class VIII A students was greater than the pre-test result with the results of tcount(9.996) > ttable(2,093) so that the conclusion was that there was a significant difference in the ability of students before and after the treatment was applied. As for knowing its effectiveness, it is carried out using the n-gain theory, from the results of data analysis using the N-gain theory, the increase is only able to reach 37%. So that the mufrodat-based learning that the researchers did was considered less effective in improving the students' Arabic language skills. This is because the research time is relatively very short, so the results shown are also less than optimal. It is recommended for further research to conduct research with adequate time so that the results achieved are maximal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode qirāʾah jahriyyah  dalam meningkatan mahārah qirāʾah bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas III MI YKUI MASKUMAMBANG Gresik. Metode penelitian kuantitatif digunakan dengan design pre-experimental one-group pre-test dan post-test yang mana peneliti menguji coba efektivitas metode qirāʾah jahriyyah dengan membandingkan mahārah qirāʾah sebelum dan sesudah diberi tindakan atau pengajaran. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas III MI YKUI MASKUMAMBANG Gresik, sampel penelitian berjumlah 27 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu tes membaca dengan jumlah 12 kalimat pendek. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji berpasangan (paired sample t test) dengan hipotesis H0 = Tidak terjadi peningkatan dari hasil pretest ke posttest setelah diberi tindakan atau pengajaran, dan H1 = terjadi peningkatan dari hasil pre-test ke post-test setelah diberi tindakan atau pengajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diberi pengajaran dengan menggunakan metode qirāʾah jahriyyah, nilai pos-test siswa lebih besar dibandingkan pre-test dengan rata-rata post-test (90.00) > pre-test (79,81), melalui perhitungan statistik diketahui bahwa T.Hitung 10.394 > T.Tabel 1.706  yang berarti H1 diterima sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa metode qirāʾah jahriyyah efektif untuk meningkatkan mahārah qirāʾah bahasa Arab berdasarkan hasil yang disimpulkan bahwa metode qirāʾah jahriyyah efektif digunakan  dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Arab kelas III MI YKUI MASKUMAMBANG Gresik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the use of the Drill method in learning Arabic on the improvement of mastery of Arabic vocabulary comprehension for grade 2 students of PKBM Permata Sunnah, Sidoarjo. The Drill method is used by educators because this method is suitable for foreign language learning, especially Arabic learning because students gain vocabulary understanding skills. This study uses the CAR research method, namely classroom action research with a descriptive quantitative approach, as the object of the class 2 students of the PKBM PKBM Permata Sunnah, Sidoarjo. The results of the research carried out showed that the application of the Drill method in Arabic subjects could improve memorization and vocabulary understanding of grade 2 students of the Permata Sunnah PKBM Brotherhood, Sidoarjo. This is evidenced by the student test results from the first test and the second test the percentage of students who can answer increases by 15%.

Abstract

Arabic lessons, especially Nahwu, are known among students as difficult, boring, and uninteresting lessons. One of the reasons is because of the lack of variations in the methods applied in their learning. Another obstacle is the students' laziness and no motivation to succeed in mastering Arabic. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of rewards on motivation and learning outcomes of Nahwu science students in class VIII SMP Tahfidz Al-Ittiba' Klaten. Reward is everything that is given by the teacher in the form of respect that pleases students on the basis of the good results that have been achieved in the educational process, the goal is to motivate students to do things that are commendable and try to improve achievement. This research was conducted at SMP Tahfidz Al-Ittiba' Klaten for 5 face-to-face meetings with a population of 5 students. This research is a Tajribi (experimental) research with a pre-experimental approach and a mixed type of research. The research instrument consisted of observations, interviews, questionnaires, and tests in the form of pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the method of giving rewards had a significant effect on increasing students' learning motivation both inside and outside the classroom. The reward method also has a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes in Arabic subjects in the Nahwu science category.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the problems of learning Arabic at SDIT Darus Sunnah Sumbawa are.  The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative.  The research instrument used is interview, observation, and document review.  The results of the study show that: (1) Arabic learning at SDIT Darus Sunnah Sumbawa, both from the linguistic and non-linguistic aspects, is still experiencing various problems from the teacher's and students' perspective.  This is because the Arabic language teachers are still not at the level of quality they should be, most of the students do not have basic knowledge of reading and writing Arabic, as well as learning methods that are not in accordance with the students' marhalah.  (2) Efforts to overcome the problems of learning Arabic at SDIT Darus Sunnah Sumbawa are by rearranging the curriculum which is expected to be in accordance with the level of understanding of students according to their age level, paying great attention to the ability to read the Qur'an, also by utilizing various  interesting learning media in order to raise the morale and motivation of students.
