Jurnal Biopedadogia, Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi merupakan jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Biopedagogia merupakan media publikasi ilmiah seperti gagasan, Kajian, dan hasil penelitian yang berkualitas terkait Pembelajaran Biologi yang mempunyai tujuan pendidikan nasional dalam bidang biologi. Ide awalnya diterbitkan jurnal Biopedagogia mempermudah mahasiswa mempublikasikan hasil karyanya, dikarenakan keterbatasan dan kesulitan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam mempublikasi hasil karya baik skripsi, hasil PKM, PPL dan karya tulis lainnya. Abstract

This research was intended to measure the relationship between students’ interest in Biology subject to students’ learning outcomes at class X cross-interest students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Tarakan. The design of the research was a survey with descriptive correlational quantitative data. This research population was 184 students of class X, cross-interest students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Tarakan, and the research sample was 70 students. The sample was determined using the nonprobability sampling technique from purposive sampling. Overall data were obtained based on scores from students’ interest questionnaires and multiple choice questions, then analyzed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test and Linear Regression Test. There was no relationship between students’ interest in Biology learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.407. Keywords:  Interest, Cross-Interests, Biology Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The research have a goal to identify species of Rubiaceae that is used in Tarakan community. Collecting data used participatory rural appraisal, and was used open-interview to 30 informants. The result showed 8 species of Rubiaceae that is used by Tarakan community.  In general, Rubiaceae was used as a food sources and medicine. The result can be used as a complementary content in Ethnobotany course. Keywords: Rubiaceae, Tarakan

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the feasibility of a microbiology textbook as a learning resource for general microbiology courses. The type of research used is development research, according to Borg and Gall. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire. The assessment of the product developed was assessed by two content experts and two lecturers. The designated material experts are lecturers who are competent in the field of microbiology. Meanwhile, the designated practitioners are lecturers who are teaching general microbiology courses. Based on the research assessment results by material expert validators, the value is 84.75% and is categorized as very valid. In comparison, the assessment by practitioners obtained a value of 86.5%, with a very valid category. Keywords: Microbiology, Textbook

Abstract

Abstract: The research is Classroom Action Research which aims to improve the activity and results of student learning through applying the learning model of MURDER. The subject of this research is the grade XI IPA in one of SMA Negeri in Parepare, a total of 34 students. The implementation of this research consists of two cycles. The data was collected in the analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis. The data analysis results are as follows; (1) Student learning activities related to the implementation of the application of the model of learning in the form of MURDER such as students listening to an explanation of the learning materials increased from cycle I by the percentage of 88.2% to 91.1% in cycle II. Students' focus on learning increased from 27.4% to 58.8%. Students read certain material without remembering increased from 61.7% to 45.7%. Students give an oral presentation by repeating the material read increased from 45.7% to 79.4%. If it comes up, error-correcting students increased from 47% to 82.3%. Students elaborating material together couples increased from 50% to 58.8% and transmits the material on student other couples in the Group increased from 41.1% to 61.7%, (2) the results of the study of biology students after the application of the model of learning MURDER increased from cycle I with a percentage of 66.79 became 80.65 on cycle II. And the percentage of students who completed cycle I of 29.41 became 86.69 on cycle II. In brief, experience increased during the learning process after applying the learning model applied to MURDER. Keywords: Activity, Learning Outcomes, MURDER Model

Abstract

Pengembangan produk lokal berbahan dasar bawang dayak masih sangat jarang. Berdasarkan hal ini, maka dilakukan pengolahan bawang dayak dalam bentuk krupuk.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed method (kuantitatif dan kualitatif). Pendekatan kuanitatif menggunakan uji organoleptik pada berbagai perlakuan dosis bawang dayak. Sementara, pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis kesuaian hasil penelitian dengan pembelajaran biologi. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji organoleptik pada responden tidak terlatih dan semi terlatih didapatkan hasil bahwa dosis bawang dayak sebesar 2 sdt merupakan dosis paling optimal dalam campuran kerupuk. Hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan konten atau contoh projek dalam matakuliah gastronomi, terkait dengan materi pengolahan makan berbasis potensi lokal. Abstract

This study aims to identify the species of ferns in the Hutan Lindung RPH Barat (Juwata Kerikil). The research method used adaptive sampling technique. In the identification results of epiphytic ferns in Hutan Lindung RPH Barat (Juwata Kerikil), 8 species of ferns have been identified. The largest family found is Polypodiaceae with 6 species, consisting of Pyrrosia piloselloides, Platycerium bifurcatum, Drynaria sparsisora, Drymoglossum piloselloides, Pyrrosia longifolia, and Pyrrosia lanceolata. Meanwhile, the Aspleniaceae and Davalliaceae families were only found each one species, namely Asplenium nidus and Davallia solida. Keywords: Ferns, Epiphytes

Abstract

This study aims to see the level of creativity of students before training and after training in making herbarium and determine the increase in student creativity after training in making herbarium. This study uses a quantitative approach. The type of research is quasi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design. This research was conducted in January 2015 in Class X IPA MAN Bulungan, North Kalimantan Province, which consisted of 21 students. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a creativity scale that adopts the creativity scale of Utami Munandar and an observation sheet. The data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques and inferential statistics. The study results showed that students' level of learning creativity during the initial test (Pre-test) was relatively high, with an average value of 63.14. Students' level of creativity after the training was classified as very high, with an average value of 85.86. There was a significant increase in student learning creativity after training in making herbarium. Keywords:  Training, Herbarium, Creativity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the misconceptions experienced by students of class XII MIA SMA Ngeri 3 Tarakan. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that seeks to describe the conditions as they are of a subject descriptively. In this study, the researcher gave the test in the form of multiple-choice with open reasons accompanied by the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) column to students to provide an overview of the misconceptions experienced by students. Based on the explanation of the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that class XII MIA SMA Negeri 3 Tarakan in the 2019/2020 school year experienced misconceptions with an average percentage of 37.32%. The highest misconception was in item 19 regarding motion based on the connector place with a percentage of 60% and the lowest misconception was in item 10 regarding the nervous system function with a percentage of 22.96%.Keywords:  Misconception, CRI

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the practicality of general microbiology textbook. The research method used in RD, according to Borg and Gall. The data collection instrument was in the form of a questionnaire tested on a small-scale test and a large-scale test. The research subjects in the small-scale trial were 12 students, while in the large-scale trial, there were 40 students with high, medium, and low cognitive categories. The study results obtained a value of 85.33% in the very practical category for small-scale trials. In contrast, in large-scale trials, the value was obtained with a percentage of 85.66% with the very practical category. Keywords: practicality, microbiology, textbook.

Abstract

The learning that is most often found when making observations in schools is learning that still does not involve students to learn actively. Students as a whole have not been actively involved in the learning process and the teacher becomes the centre of information, in this case, achieving the expected learning objectives. One of the efforts to direct students to be actively involved in the learning process is by implementing a scientific-based learning model, namely Problem Based Learning (PBL). In Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning syntax, students are oriented to a problem to be solved in groups by way of discussion. With this problem, students can develop their reasoning and critical thinking skills so that the final results achieved will increase learning outcomes at the cognitive level. This study aims to determine the increase in critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students.
