Abstract

Indonesian is a language with a large number of speakers and diverse vocabulary. One of the main challenges of Indonesian language processing is the presence of agglutinative morphology. This complexity makes it challenging for traditional stemming algorithms developed for European languages to accurately handle Indonesian words. This review focuses on several prominent Indonesian text processing algorithms that have been developed specifically for Indonesian, highlighting the contributions made by Nazief and Adriani, Asian, Arifin and Setiono, and the Enhanced Confix Stripping (ECS) stemmer. By examining these algorithms, we can better understand their methodologies, efficacy, and applications. The results of the study revealed that the ECS stemmer outperformed the other algorithms in terms of accuracy and efficiency. The ECS algorithm was able to strip affixes more effectively and accurately identify the root form of words, leading to improved text analysis and information retrieval. As linguistic technology continues to evolve, ongoing research into these methods will be crucial for advancing our ability to process Indonesian texts accurately and effectively.

Abstract

Twitter API tweets were utilized to analyze sentiments surrounding ShopeeFood using its algorithmic attachment. A contended sample of 2,500 tweets was gathered for Shapshot-1 in sample focus and was later cleaned and translated into English. The methods employed for the analysis include TextBlob, VADER, and Naïve Bayes classifiers. The analysis reconsolidated, yet again, that tweets, which, by and large, had neutral sentiments attached to them, as confirmed by Naïve Bayes out of 83 per cent accuracy attained. VADER's classification resulted in 85.08% of tweets being categorized as neutral, positive 9.4%, and negative 5.52%. All three constructs captured presented similar results, but the Naive Bayes model proved to be more favourable in terms of sentiment classification; despite such successes with VADER and TextBlob, feature selection and the changes from the translation left them a flaw within the analysis. These problems highlight the challenges posed by social media data, which is rife with casual language, slang, and emoticons. To overcome these challenges, future work should focus on employing neural network techniques that would bolster performance for sentiment classification on large corpora. Practices such as the collection of social media opinion sentiment within the pre-processing stages need more focus. More sophisticated models and advanced pre-processing methods can yield more fine-grained sentiment and opinion expressions on Twitter.

Abstract

This study was conducted to develop Monsakun, a web-based Problem Posing learning platform, through the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The main objective of this research is to create an interactive and effective learning tool that enhances students' ability to understand and apply concepts through systematic Problem Posing activities. The study responds to existing challenges in Problem Posing-based learning, which is often perceived as less engaging and insufficient in nurturing students' critical thinking and creativity. The research procedures included a comprehensive needs analysis, prototype design, product development, and testing for effectiveness. User experience was measured using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and System Usability Scale (SUS). The results indicated that Monsakun received an "Excellent" rating in terms of attractiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and stimulation. However, improvements are needed in clarity and novelty, particularly regarding user guidance and the integration of more innovative features. With an average SUS score of 86, the platform demonstrated a high level of usability, suggesting strong user acceptance and satisfaction. Overall, the findings show that Monsakun is effective in supporting students' learning outcomes, offering an engaging and user-friendly experience. Moreover, the R&D approach used in this study has proven successful in guiding the development of impactful educational technology, thus contributing meaningfully to the advancement of web-based learning media.

Abstract

In the fishing industry, determining the freshness of fish is essential since it directly affects the quality of consumption and the viability of items on the market. The purpose of this research is to use Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) techniques to create an automated system that can determine the freshness of tilapia fish. Identification is carried out by analyzing the visual characteristics of the fish, in particular skin discoloration, which is the main indicator of freshness. The dataset used in this study was obtained from Kaggle, which covers various conditions of tilapia fish with different levels of freshness.Color conversion into RGB, HSV, and LAB formats to get more accurate color information, image normalization to normalize color intensity, and segmentation to highlight pertinent areas are all part of the pre-processing procedure used to increase the model's accuracy. While SVM is responsible for classifying fish into groups that are either acceptable or unfit for ingestion, CNN is utilized to extract features from fish photos. System testing is carried out by comparing model performance based on classification accuracy. The experiment's findings demonstrated that the CNN and SVM combination could accurately classify the freshness of tilapia fish, however performance was heavily reliant on the input image's quality. It is anticipated that this technology will replace less effective manual techniques, lessen human observational bias, and expedite the industrial fish freshness assessment procedure. With this artificial intelligence-based system, the fishing industry can improve the efficiency and accuracy of the fish sorting process, which can ultimately improve the quality of products consumed by the public.

Abstract

In addition to photovoltaic (PV) power plants, wind turbine generators represent the most ubiquitous renewable energy use today. The stochastic and intermittent character of wind as a key source of electricity is one of the fundamental challenges associated with wind turbines WT. This paper describes an induction generator used in wind turbines. The implemented Turbine utilizes a straightforward output power against wind speed relationship to convert wind speed to turbine output power. When the wind speed is below or above the cut-in speed, the turbine produces no real power. Constantly, the machine consumes reactive power. This implemented block compensates for the machine's reactive power demand. Local load consumption is 75 kW. The electricity grid makes up for any shortage in wind turbine generation. When the generator's output exceeds 75 kW, the excess energy is exported to the grid.

Abstract

Car speed is an essential attribute for analysing the utility of a transport mode. The speed relationship between multiple modes of transport is of interest to traffic planners and operators. Nowadays, the cruise control system has become a common feature of modern cars. A car control system helps in providing comfortability to the driver while driving long-distance travel. Using a car control system, travelling on the highways has become easier than before because it reduces the mental and physical stress caused by regularly monitoring the speed of the car and frequently pressing the gas pedal to maintain the speed. This paper is aimed at modelling a car control system and examining its characteristics based on the PID control strategy. Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller provides a great way to stabilize systems. It has the ability to change the response of the system to be stable and reliable when it is used for controlling systems. This system is actualized with the help of MATLAB for simulation and control purposes. The paper showed that without the use of the PID controller, the speed was stable after 100 seconds, and when the controller was used and self-turned, the speed was approximately stable at 20 seconds, and this shows the effectiveness of using the PID controller.

Abstract

Learning languages requires desire and practices from the learners; one of the major things that guide better learning is motivation in learning process to be more skilful. Thus, this study attempts to describe and examine students’ motivation of ELT undergraduate students in Tripoli University in Libya. The main purpose of this study is to examine students' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation toward learning English as a foreign language in Libya. The study tries to find out those factors that may affect the students' motivation negatively. In the study, 150 ELT Libyan undergraduate students (121 males & 29 females) participated fill the questionnaire to figure out the students’ tendency throughout the extrinsic motivation to investigate what affects their English learning process and how to motivate undergraduate students from the ages between 17 to 25 years in various levels range from 1st to 4th year. Unpredictably, the data discovered that the students have a higher degree of extrinsic rather than intrinsic motivation. The results were not expectable; the study's findings were unusual as Libyan students' integrative orientation was higher than their instrumental motivation.
