Abstract

This study analyzes curriculum innovation in Islamic Religious Education in response to globalization and the demands of 21st-century skills. Using a qualitative research design, data were obtained from curriculum documents, teacher interviews, and classroom observations. The findings reveal that innovative IRE curricula emphasize critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity while integrating Islamic values. However, implementation challenges include limited teacher preparedness and rigid assessment systems. The study highlights the need for flexible curriculum models that balance religious authenticity with global competencies. This research contributes to curriculum studies by proposing a contextualized framework for innovative Islamic education in the global era.

Abstract

Abstract This study examines the impact of teachers’ pedagogical competence on students’ religious attitudes in Islamic Religious Education learning. Adopting a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through questionnaires, classroom observations, and interviews. The results indicate that teachers’ mastery of instructional strategies, classroom management, and student-centered learning significantly influences students’ religious understanding and attitudes. Effective pedagogical competence encourages reflective religious practices rather than rote learning. The study highlights the central role of teacher professionalism in shaping meaningful religious education. These findings provide empirical evidence for improving teacher training programs and enhancing the quality of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and character education as a multidimensional approach to strengthening students’ moral values in secondary schools. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers, and document analysis. The findings indicate that integrating religious teachings with character-based pedagogy fosters moral internalization, ethical awareness, and responsible behavior among students. The integration is most effective when supported by contextual learning, teacher role modeling, and school culture. This study contributes to the discourse on moral education by offering an integrative framework that aligns religious instruction with contemporary character education goals. The findings have implications for curriculum development and teacher professional training in Islamic education contexts..
