Abstract

Urban villages in Indonesia are unique socio-economic entities that reflect local History, identity, and community-based economic practices amid metropolitan expansion. Rapid urbanization and modernization generate pressures such as gentrification, land conversion, rising property values, spatial segregation, and economic marginalization, threatening livelihoods and weakening traditional social structures. This study analyzes the urgency of strengthening the urban village economy and strategies for integrating it into a dynamic metropolitan system characterized by spatial transformation and rapid policy change. Using a qualitative approach through a Systematic Literature Review, this research identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes relevant academic and policy sources in a structured and transparent manner. The findings indicate that urban villages possess significant economic potential, including micro enterprises, creative economy activities, informal sector initiatives, and strong local social networks. These potentials can be enhanced through technological innovation, business digitalization, capacity building, and inclusive urban planning. Nevertheless, limited access to infrastructure, financing, formal markets, and public services remains a major barrier to economic transformation. The study concludes that integration into metropolitan policy must prioritize local economic resilience through spatial protection, UMKM empowerment, participatory planning, and collaborative governance to achieve inclusive and sustainable urban development.

This study involved 100 respondents, whose number was determined with the use of the Slovin formula. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 3 to identify relationships among variables. Measurement model testing through Outer Loading, Discriminant Validity, Construct Reliability and Validity, R Square, and then continued with hypothesis testing. The analysis results revealed that internal locus of control, financial literacy, and lifestyle significantly affect personal financial management behaviour, while spiritual intelligence does not show an effect that is significant effect on personal financial management behaviour. The findings provide a new perspective on the influencing factors for students’ financial decisions and deepen our understanding regarding the aspects that affect their financial management behaviour.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of career identity, career success, and social support on turnover intention, with work engagement serving as a mediating variable among PT employees. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk in Jakarta. The study aims to analyze the direct and indirect relationships among these variables and to examine the mediating role of work engagement in reducing employees’ intention to leave the organization. The population consisted of all employees working at the head office, branch offices, and regional offices in Jakarta. Using stratified proportional sampling, 277 respondents were selected. The findings reveal that career identity, career success, and social support significantly enhance work engagement. In addition, work engagement has a significant negative effect on turnover intention and partially mediates the relationship between the independent variables and turnover intention. Theoretically, this study enriches the literature on turnover intention by integrating career-related and social contextual factors within a mediation framework. The study is limited to a single organization and geographic area. Future research should involve multiple organizations, diverse sectors, and longitudinal approaches to improve generalizability and causal inference.

The study shows that Strategic Flexibility significantly improves the Sustainability Performance of shopping-mall, both directly and through Leverage Capability, which utilizes external resources to strengthen capabilities. While Ambidexterity Orientation Influences Sustainability Performance indirectly, it does not have a direct impact on Leverage Capability or Sustainability Performance. These findings highlight the importance of the Leverage Capability Strategy in enhancing Sustainability Performance. The study is limited to shopping-mall in West Java, and its findings may not be fully generalizable to other regions or industries. Further research could expand the geographical scope and incorporate longitudinal analysis to explore temporal dynamics in these relationships. Abstract

On April 2, 2025, President Donald J. Trump imposed a 32% import tariff on Indonesia, triggering significant stock market volatility and global panic. This study aims to provide empirical evidence on whether there are significant differences in aggregate and cumulative abnormal returns before and after Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy announcement. The research adopts an event study approach, using a sample comprising all companies across 11 sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The findings indicate that the Indonesian capital market responded negatively and significantly to Trump’s tariff announcement. This is reflected in a significant decline in the Aggregate Abnormal Return (AAR) on the first day following the announcement. The decline is also evident in the Cumulative Aggregate Abnormal Return (CAAR), which illustrates the aggregate market losses accumulated during the event window. However, the drop in AAR and CAAR lasted only for two days post-announcement, after which signs of recovery emerged from the third to the fifth day. Further analysis of sectoral Abnormal Returns (AR) shows that most sectors closely linked to international trade activities experienced a significantly negative decline in AR.

Abstract

The persistently elevated unemployment rate among Indonesian university graduates highlights the urgent need for sustainable alternative solutions. At universities, optimizing entrepreneurship education is one strategic approach that can be implemented. Although entrepreneurship education is widely assumed to stimulate students’ entrepreneurial intention, prior empirical evidence remains inconclusive, with studies reporting inconsistent outcomes. This study explores how entrepreneurship education contributes to students’ entrepreneurial intention by considering the roles of entrepreneurial mindset and self-efficacy within the Theory of Planned Behavior framework. The study collected primary data from 130 university students in West Jakarta who had completed an entrepreneurship course. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling, and the data were collected through an online questionnaire. The proposed research model was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results suggest that exposure to entrepreneurship education is associated with stronger entrepreneurial intention among students, both directly and indirectly, with entrepreneurial mindset and self-efficacy serving as mediators. These findings lend empirical support to TPB and emphasize the importance of integrating cognitive and affective dimensions within entrepreneurship education to pursue entrepreneurial careers.
