Abstract

ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection) in Indonesia always ranks first as the cause of infant mortality as much as 32.1% of infant mortality in 2009, and 38.8% cause of death in under-fives in 2011. ARI is also often on the list of the 10 most common diseases in hospitals. Based on data from the disease eradication (P2) ARI Program the coverage of ARI patients exceeded the target, the target set was only 16,534 cases but the results obtained were 18,749 (13,4%). This research is a descriptive analytic study with a case control approach. The research was carried out at the Jambi Health Center. The population in this study was the number of toddlers who were at the Jambi Public Health Center on July 2021, 1,110 toddlers. The sample in this study were 89 toddlers using the Accidental Sampling technique. Collecting data using medical records and questionnaire sheets as research aids. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The results of statistical tests using Chi-square show a p-value of 0.00 0.05, meaning that there is a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of ARI in children under five at the Jambi Public Health Center in 2021. Efforts to reduce the incidence of ARI are expected in undernourished toddlers, as health workers must be more active in providing counseling to mothers who have toddlers about nutritious food needed by toddlers, it doesn't need to be expensive, the important thing is that the nutrients needed are fulfilled like Balanced Nutrition.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the effects of vegetarianism (vegan and semi-vegetarian) among athletes on their nutrient sufficiency and performance. This review is conducted with three steps, namely: literature search and screening; data extraction and analysis; and writing the literature review. The results show that athletes practicing a vegetarian diet may be at a greater risk of nutritional inadequacy especially proteins, essential fatty acids, iron, zinc, calcium, iodine, vitamin D, and vitamin B12. Whilst the effect of vegetarian practice in athletes’ performance has no significant difference with omnivore athletes. vegetarian athletes should plan a well-planned diet to meet the recommendations of macro and micronutrients for the training and recovery phase. At last, vegetarianism in athletes does not affect their performance and their nutritional sufficiency can be maintained by planning well-balanced dietary consumption. Further research is required to broaden our understanding of vegetarianism in athletes

Abstract

The objective of the research was to study analyze the effect of adding shrimp shell flour to the manufacture of cookies on consumer acceptance. Research using this experimental method was conducted at the Food Technology Science Laboratory, Nutrition Department, Poltekkes Palembang and the Lampung State Polytechnic Laboratory from August to November 2021. The consumer acceptance test was carried out on 30 moderately trained panelists to assess cookies which included aspects of color, taste, aroma and texture. The results of consumer acceptance with the Friedman showed that there were no significant differences in aspects of aroma and texture, but there were significant differences in aspects of color and taste. After the acceptance test was carried out, the next step was to do a proximate analysis test on the most preferred formula, namely formula 2, and protein content (13.6%), fats content (18.6%), carbohydrates content (43.2%), water content (3.7%), and ash content (11.7%). The results of the proximate analysis test were compared with SNI 01-2973-1992, from the results of the analysis the product met the quality standard requirements, but the ash content exceeded the SNI standard.

Abstract

Nutritional problems are a problem that still cannot be fully addressed in every country. One of the nutritional problems that cannot be completely overcome is the problem of overweight. Several factors cause overweight are physical activity and diet. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and diet with the incidence of overweight in adolescents aged 13-15 years at Purwajaya Junior High School. This research is a descriptive correlational study with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was 93 students consisting of students in grades VII A and VII B. The sample size in this study was 48 students who were taken by purposive sampling. The respondent's eating patterns were obtained by interview using a 24-hour food recall and a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). The respondent's physical activity pattern was obtained by interview using the IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire). The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of overweight with a p value of 0.002 and a correlation coefficient of 0.336. It also shows a significant relationship between physical activity and the incidence of overweight with a p value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient of -0.554. The conclusion in this study is that there is a significant relationship between physical activity patterns and eating patterns with the incidence of overweight in adolescents aged 13-15 years at Purwajaya Junior High School.

Abstract

Introduction: During this Covid-19 pandemic, Exercising and doing physical activity is very necessary to keep the body in shape, but students tend to do a lot of sedentary behavior because they required to stay at home. Sedentary behavior and student health are interrelated because a dangerous sedentary lifestyle increases many diseases and deaths. This study aims to identify nutritional status and physical activity of elementary students in Bandung during the Covid-19 pandemic.Methods: This study using corelational analytic with cross-sectional design. The data collection tools on this research using quisioner that divided into 2 parts. Subject research choosing based on inclusion criteria on this research are student that registered in dapodik data when the research was conducted, no suffer from chronic and congenital disease, and surely provide to be a respondent.Results: The result of the variety analytics showed nutritional status of school-aged children and 84,2 % has normal body mass index and 72,6% has normal height. Based on table 3, 49 of student do sedentary activity and 46 do moderate, 43 of student  do physical activity during sport session about one time, and 2 of them not doing it at all, 50 of student sitting on their spare time, 48 of student sittting on their school break, 43 of student do physical activity after school about 2-3 times, 62 student do physical activity in afternoon about 1-3 times, 39 of student do physical activity on weekends about one times, and their parent's perception about physical activity was 1-2 times do physical activity on spare time.Conclusion: Most children have normal nutritional status, although most children behave sedentary. The results of this study are expected to be an awareness for parents and teachers to encourage children to do more physical activity because hildren who move a lot can avoid obesity and are more fit, especially during this Covid-19 pandemic..
