Abstract

This research focuses on the Ibu Sibuk community, an online community that empowers mothers to become influencers and resellers through social commerce platforms. The background of this research includes the community's goals, the platform's success in attracting members and brands, and the members' experiences in using communication technology to interact in the community. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design to understand the role of the IbuSibuk community for women who already have a family and are mothers. The research informants consisted of two members and two administrators of IbuSibuk, who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through face-to-face or online interviews, literature reviews from academic journals, and website information. The research results show that IbuSibuk is an online community that helps working mothers earn extra income as influencers by connecting them with various brands. This community empowers mothers economically through the programs and activities offered but also faces technological barriers such as network and digital literacy issues and the potential for fraud. Nevertheless, technology within IbuSibuk extends its reach and facilitates offline activities such as product launches. Overall, IbuSibuk serves as a bridge between brands and influencers, empowers mothers economically, and creates a supportive and motivating environment for its members.

Abstract

Land conversion has occurred in the coastal area of Kampung Beting, Pantai Bahagia Village, Bekasi Regency. What used to be a mangrove plantation has transformed into spaces for fish and shrimp ponds. This phenomenon took place from 2001 to the early 2010s. The promise of lucrative income led the community to compete in changing land use without considering the potential consequences. After 2011, the community gradually began to feel the negative impacts of this land conversion. To this day, the entire area that was once used for ponds has turned into the sea, causing the community to lose their livelihoods. Furthermore, not only have they lost their livelihoods, but they have also been confronted with land degradation, which threatens their sustainability. This study examines how coastal women's empowerment activities can contribute to sustainable development. The research employs a phenomenological approach, and data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that Coastal Women's Empowerment Contributes to Sustainable Goals in Climate Change Mitigation, Gender Equality, and Poverty Alleviation. In climate change mitigation activities, there are two key activities: 1) the development of women's behavior in efforts to improve and rehabilitate critical lands, and 2) women's involvement in the maintenance of mangrove trees. In gender equality activities, there is one main activity: 1) active participation of women in productive economic activities, allowing coastal women in Pantai Bahagia Village to have regular activities beyond their domestic responsibilities. The focus of poverty alleviation activities is 2) increasing income by utilizing non-timber mangrove products for food processing and crafts.

Abstract

This study examines the typology of the work ethic of the people on the North Coast (PANTURA) of Java Island and the correlation between work ethic typology and economic conditions. The research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to focus on communities in Indramayu, Cirebon City, and Cirebon Regency. Results show that 86% of respondents follow the Qadariyah Theological Doctrine, 6.6% adhere to the Jabariyah Doctrine, and another 6.6% have a combined Qadariyah-Jabariyah typology. 86% of workers in the private sector align with Qadariyah, while all civil servants follow Qadariyah. A significant correlation exists between work ethic typology and income: Qadariyah adherents generally have higher monthly incomes than those following Jabariyah or combined typologies. Respondents with Jabariyah and combined typologies typically earn less than 5 million monthly rupiah. Among the 26 respondents with a Qadariyah work ethic, 14 earn more than 5 million rupiah monthly. The study concludes that theological doctrines significantly influence work ethic and economic conditions in Java's coastal areas.
