Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of the Asset-Based Community-Driven Development (ABCD) approach on the development of Village-Owned Enterprises/Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) in Lumintu Village, Mojorembun Village, Blora District. The scope of the research includes aspects of organisational management, product digitalization, network development, and public relations. The method used was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The assistance was conducted through product digitalization training, company profile video creation, and social media optimisation, which proved to expand the market reach and improve the operational effectiveness of BUMDes. The results show that digital transformation and strengthening the organisational structure can improve business competitiveness and strengthen strategic networks with the government and neighbouring companies. These findings provide important empirical evidence on the effectiveness of an asset-based approach in empowering rural communities economically. This study also confirms the urgency of digitalization for microenterprise development in rural areas. Recommendations for future research include a quantitative impact analysis of digitization with a broader scope and an exploration of more effective networking strategies. These will support the development of a sustainable rural empowerment model.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the digital divide between urban and rural areas in Riau Province, especially in the transformation of villages into Smart Villages. The focus is on measuring the impact of digital skills development on three pillars: Smart People, Smart Economy, and Smart Living. Using a quantitative survey method, data were collected from 80 respondents using the Quota Sampling technique in four villages in Kampar Regency that have participated in digital skills training since 2021. Multivariate regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between digital skills and access to employment, entrepreneurship, and quality of life. The results showed that digital skills training contributed positively to improving access to employment (Smart People). However, its impact is still influenced by other factors such as access to relevant job markets. In the Smart Economy aspect, although field observations showed an increase in local entrepreneurship, regression analysis indicated that digital skills had a very small impact on entrepreneurship improvement, likely due to more dominant factors such as technology and innovation. The conclusion of this study reveals that digital skills development has a positive impact on transforming villages into Smart Villages. Still, it requires better infrastructure support and broader community involvement to ensure equitable benefits.

Abstract

The prosperity of the mosque refers to managing the aspects of Idarah, Imarah, and Riayah in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as realizing the Indonesian Mosque Council’s/Dewan Masjid Indonesia (DMI) mission to promote the prosperity of mosques. This study aims to assess the achievement of mosque management standards based on the typology of mosques in Kendal Regency and to identify the efforts carried out to meet these standards. The research emphasizes a community-empowerment perspective, considering the crucial role of public participation in supporting mosque prosperity. Using a descriptive qualitative method supported by simple quantitative data, the study describes field conditions obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed inductively using a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings show that various mosque types in Kendal Regency—such as Masjid Jami' Baitussalam, Masjid Besar Al Muttaqin, and Masjid Agung Kendal—function not only as worship spaces but also as centers of community empowerment. These mosques have initiated programs in education, including tafsir classes, religious learning, and skills training. They also provide social services, including aid distribution and free medical treatment, and support economic empowerment through bazaars, small enterprises, and entrepreneurship training to enhance community welfare.

Abstract

The disparity between stages in legislation and practice in the field poses a challenge to the pre-placement protection process for Taiwanese migrant workers, which has significant relevance to the concept of human security. This study examines the role of P4MI Madiun in the pre-placement protection of Taiwanese migrant workers in 2024, grounded in the concept of human security. The purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the role of P4MI Madiun in the pre-placement protection of Taiwanese migrant workers in 2024. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing primary data collected through interviews and the official website of P4MI Madiun, as well as prospective migrant workers. The results of this study indicate that the pre-placement protection provided by P4MI Madiun aligns with the concept of human security, particularly in terms of economic, health, and personal security. This study concludes that P4MI has fulfilled its duties as an implementer of UUPPMI through the pre-placement protection process for Taiwanese migrant workers in 2024.

Abstract

Illiteracy among the elderly remains a challenge in various regions in Indonesia, including Banyuwangi Regency, limiting their social and economic participation. This article examines the implementation of the AKSARA program, an independent effort to address this issue, run by the youth organization PANDAWA (Persatuan Pemuda Wangkal) in the Wangkal neighborhood of Kalipuro District. The purpose of this study was to examine the program's implementation and analyze its impact on improving literacy and reducing illiteracy among elderly participants. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, then analyzed thematically. The results showed that the program was implemented using a teacher-centered learning approach, three times a week for fifteen meetings, held in residents' homes. The material focused on basic reading and writing with patient tutoring. Despite facing challenges such as time constraints and participant characteristics, PANDAWA was able to overcome these challenges with solutions based on local wisdom and strong social ties. The novelty of this study lies in the documentation of a community-based empowerment model driven entirely by local youth initiatives. The findings suggest that youth can be effective agents of change in non-formal education and sustainable community development.

Abstract

Women play a crucial role in accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5, which focuses on gender equality. At the village level, women's participation in planning and policy formulation through the Village Action Plan (RADes). This research employs a descriptive-analytical method, collecting data from literature, policies, regulations, statistical reports, and studies related to women's empowerment and the implementation of the SDGs in the village. The results show that women make a significant contribution to village development achievements, including improvements in the quality of human resources, family welfare, and environmental sustainability. However, limited representation of women in decision-making forums, gender-biased social norms, budget planning that is not fully gender responsive, and limited disaggregated data are still obstacles. The Village SDGs, the Women-Friendly and Child-Caring Village (DRPPA) program, and RADes demonstrate positive developments in expanding women's leadership and promoting peaceful, gender-equitable village governance. Therefore, strengthening gender mainstreaming, capacity building, institutional support, and monitoring mechanisms are needed to ensure women's transformative role in sustainable development at the village level.
