Abstract

Employee engagement refers to the personal involvement of nurses in expressing themselves through their work when carrying out tasks. Engaged and motivated nurses tend to bring innovative ideas, leading to improved performance in the implementation of Infection Prevention and Control. The occurrence of HAIs can diminish the image and quality of hospital services since IPC programs are a key metric for quality control. Therefore, nurses play a crucial role in the implementation of IPC. This research is an analytical correlation study using a cross-sectional method, with proportional sampling techniques involving 103 respondents. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires filled out by the respondents and was subsequently analyzed using Path Analysis with a significance level (?) of 0.05. The Path Analysis results indicate that employee engagement and motivation has a significant impact on nurses' performance in implementing IPC, with a path coefficient of 0.267 and 0.19 and a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.005). The determination coefficient was found to be 0.89. The Path Analysis results show that 89% of the influence on performance can be explained by employee engagement and motivation, while the remaining influence is explained by other factors outside the scope of this study. Management plays a crucial role in enhancing nurses' performance in IPC implementation to improve service quality. Based on the study's findings, it is recommended to improve nurses' competencies through both internal and external training, ensure the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure, provide regular supervision by IPCN, and offer management support by considering individual, psychological, and organizational factors.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) stands as one of the leading non-communicable diseases globally and significantly contributes to early mortality due to its complications. Early identification of high-risk individuals is essential in alleviating the burden of this disease. This study aimed to develop an early detection chatbot for T2DM based on machine learning using the Random Forest algorithm integrated into the Telegram platform. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach following the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The dataset used was the Pima Indians Diabetes dataset, which includes eight key health variables. The model was trained and tested to predict T2DM risk and implemented in an interactive chatbot developed using Python and the Telegram Bot API. The training results indicate that the Random Forest model achieved good performance with an accuracy of 85%, precision of 83%, and recall of 80%, demonstrating the model’s reliable and sensitive capability to detect diabetes risk. The chatbot effectively collects user health data through simple conversational interactions and provides real-time prediction results. System evaluation through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving 35 respondents showed a very positive response, with an average score of 4.5 out of 5, indicating that the chatbot is easy to use, informative, and beneficial as an educational and early screening tool for non-communicable diseases. Recommendations for future research include using localized datasets to better represent the Indonesian population and integrating the chatbot with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to enable direct clinical application by healthcare professionals

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a major driving force in modernizing hospital management worldwide. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and cloud computing play a critical role in improving operational efficiency and the quality of healthcare services. This study employs a systematic literature review design to evaluate the impact of digital transformation on hospital management. This approach was chosen because it enables the identification, critical appraisal, and synthesis of findings from a range of empirical and conceptual studies relevant to digital transformation in hospitals. The review process follows the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) reporting guidelines. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital technologies in hospitals can enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve patient experience and satisfaction. Furthermore, digital transformation supports better decision-making through data-driven analytics and strengthens coordination across departments. However, several challenges remain, including budget constraints, limited technological competencies among staff, and resistance to organizational change. This study provides valuable insights for hospital managers and policymakers in planning and implementing more effective digital transformation strategies. Future research is recommended to explore practical solutions to these challenges and to further examine the potential of digital technologies in strengthening hospital management

Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly is a chronic health issue that requires continuous care and holistic management strategies. One emerging non-pharmacological intervention is aromatherapy, particularly with lavender essential oil, known for its calming and relaxation effects. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of lavender aromatherapy as a complementary approach in managing blood pressure among elderly individuals with hypertension. A descriptive study design was employed, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected through direct observation of blood pressure and the accuracy of self-administered therapy, alongside semi-structured interviews conducted over four consecutive days. The findings indicated a gradual decrease in blood pressure following lavender aromatherapy sessions, accompanied by improved accuracy in therapy implementation and enhanced physical and emotional well-being. Participants reported subjective improvements, including reduced physical discomfort, increased relaxation, and better sleep quality. In contrast to previous studies that primarily focused on short-term physiological effects or clinical settings, this study emphasizes the self-administered application of lavender aromatherapy among the elderly in real-life contexts. By integrating both physiological and subjective perspectives, this research provides a more holistic understanding of aromatherapy’s role in hypertension management and demonstrates its feasibility within community-based primary healthcare. The study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on complementary health interventions and suggests the need for further experimental studies with control groups and larger sample sizes to enhance the generalizability of findings
