Abstract

The rapid growth of educational technology has increased the need for appropriate instructional design models in educational product research and development (R&D). This qualitative meta-analysis maps the use of five widely adopted models--ADDIE, Kemp, Dick and Carey, Borg and Gall, and Gagné--in educational product development studies published from 2020 to 2025. Scopus-indexed articles were used as the data source because they provide peer-reviewed publications, internationally comparable metadata, and sufficient bibliographic consistency for transparent PRISMA-based screening. The study identified 335 records and retained 240 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed through narrative synthesis by coding the instructional design model, product type, research method, author characteristics, and implementation pattern. The findings show that ADDIE and Borg and Gall are the most frequently used models, especially in R&D studies and in the development of digital learning media, learning resources, and instructional products requiring staged validation. Dick and Carey, Gagné, and Kemp appear less frequently and are generally applied in more specific instructional contexts. These findings indicate that model selection is shaped by research objectives, product scale, development complexity, and reporting demands. The study contributes a comparative reference for selecting instructional design models in educational product development.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the complexity of teaching Computer Numerical Control (CNC) in vocational high schools, which is often hindered by the disparity between limited practical facilities and the number of students. The objective of this study is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the implementation of mentoring in the CNC learning process among 11th-grade Machining Technology students at SMK PGRI 3 in Malang City. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with four students as primary informants, two mentors as agents of innovation, and one practicing teacher as a validator, employing source triangulation. The results indicate that mentoring effectively reduces operational anxiety and enhances students’ self-efficacy in exploring complex geometric designs. This mentoring process facilitates the deep transfer of tacit knowledge, particularly regarding the accuracy of machine zero-point determination and an understanding of precision down to the micron level aspects not fully accommodated by digital simulation tools. In conclusion, the triadic synergy between students, mentors, and teachers creates a learning ecosystem that is accountable and aligned with manufacturing industry standards. This study recommends the development of a formal mentoring model integrated into the vocational curriculum to optimize the sustainable utilization of productive workshops.

Abstract

Research on Indoglish has largely concentrated on social media discourse, written language practices, and broad educational setting, remaining spontaneous peer interaction comparatively underexplored. Addressing this gap, this study examines Indoglish as natural peer talk in post class discussion among master’s students. By applying a qualitative sociolinguistic design, the study draws on naturally occurring spoken interaction recorded after class amd transcribed using Turboscribe. The dataset consists of nine audio recordings, involving 20 EFL master students , with each recording lasting approximately 20-30 minutes. The data were investigated to identify recurrent structural patterns in bilingual utterances and to define their sociolinguistic sig in context The findings reveal three fundamental patterns: Indonesian Matrix with English insertion, Hybrid or mixed framed structures, and English Matrix with Indonesian insertion. These patterns prove that Indoglish in post class peer discussion is not a random alternation of linguistic elements, but systematic and interactionally meaningful practice. The analysis further reveals that such bilingual patterning allows learners to negotiate meaning, express stance, maintain interactional flow, and strengthen peer solidarity in informal academic discourse. By shifting attention from predominantly written and digitally mediated indoglish to naturally occurring spoken discourse, this study contributes to the sociolinguistic comprehending of bilingual language practice among EFL learners and highlight post class peer discussion as a productive site for investigating multilingual meaning making.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the application of reframing techniques in addressing family communication problems among juvenile inmates at the Class II Special Development Institution for Children (LPKA) in Palu. Family communication problems may affect the psychological well-being of juvenile inmates and their social reintegration process. Therefore, counseling interventions through reframing techniques are considered a potential strategy to support the improvement of family communication. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 24 juvenile inmates, and the total sampling technique was applied. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through simple linear regression and t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The results indicated an increase in family communication scores following the implementation of reframing techniques. Statistical analysis showed a regression coefficient of 0.608 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), suggesting a positive association between the implementation of reframing techniques and improvements in family communication among the participants. These findings indicate that reframing techniques have the potential to support the improvement of family communication among juvenile inmates and may be considered as an alternative strategy in guidance and counseling services at LPKA. However, due to the absence of a control group, the findings should be interpreted with caution and do not fully establish a causal relationship.

Abstract

Pedagogical competence among early childhood education (ECE) teachers is closely related to teachers’ ability to observe, assess, document, and interpret children’s development. Although assessment is essential in ECE, teachers still face administrative workload, limited assessment literacy, and uneven digital competence. This systematic literature review examines assessment and observation practices as dimensions of teachers’ pedagogical competence. Following PRISMA procedures, 41 peer-reviewed articles published between 2022 and January 2026 were selected from Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and GARUDA. The main inclusion criteria covered ECE contexts, empirical or rigorous review articles, Indonesian or English language publications, full-text access, and indexed journals. Thematic synthesis was conducted through coding and clustering. The findings show a shift from administrative reporting toward authentic, reflective, and child-centred assessment through continuous observation, pedagogical documentation, portfolios, and digital tools. Assessment quality depends on child development knowledge, observation skill, documentation competence, reflective capacity, and digital competence. This review contributes a conceptual mapping of ECE assessment competence and highlights the need for professional development, ethical digital documentation, and institutional support.
