Abstract

This study aims to analyze the growth, effectiveness, and contribution of parking levies to the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Kupang City during the 2015–2023 period. The study is motivated by the importance of optimizing PAD to support regional fiscal independence, while parking levies, as one of the sources of PAD, have not yet made an optimal contribution. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach supported by qualitative data. The main data, consisting of parking levy targets and realizations as well as PAD realizations, were obtained from the Kupang City Transportation Office and the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency of Kupang City, while supporting data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The results show that parking levy revenue increased nominally from Rp889,115,100 in 2015 to Rp3,194,281,900 in 2023; however, its growth was fluctuating and experienced a decline in 2019. The effectiveness of levy collection during the 2015–2018 period was categorized as effective to highly effective, whereas during the 2019–2023 period it declined and was categorized as less effective. The contribution of parking levies to PAD during the study period ranged only from 0.63% to 1.68%, indicating a very low contribution. This study concludes that parking levies have the potential to be improved, but this requires better governance, stronger supervision, and the digitalization of the collection system in order to enhance their contribution to the PAD of Kupang City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on harmonious brand passion (HBP) and obsessive brand passion (OBP), as well as the impact of obsessive brand passion on brand addiction among skincare consumers on social media. The increasing phenomenon of FOMO, driven by the intensity of social media usage, encourages consumers to follow trends, particularly in skincare products associated with lifestyle and self-image. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 150 respondents who are active social media users and have purchased skincare products. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, and the data are analyzed using linear regression with SPSS. The results show that FOMO has a positive and significant effect on both HBP and OBP. In addition, OBP also has a positive and significant effect on brand addiction. These findings indicate that higher levels of FOMO lead to stronger emotional attachment to brands, both harmoniously and obsessively, which ultimately increases the tendency toward addictive consumption behavior. This study implies that social media-based marketing strategies should be implemented carefully to avoid encouraging excessive consumer behavior.

Abstract

The skincare sector in Indonesia has experienced swift growth and has become an integral part of consumers' daily routines. This upward trend in usage has brought about concerns for the environment, prompting the introduction of green skincare options as a more sustainable choice. Even with this transition, enthusiasm for green products does not necessarily translate into corresponding purchase action. This study aims to examine the influence of product knowledge and environmental awareness influence purchase intentions and their effects on the purchase behavior regarding local green skincare items, treating purchase intention as a mediating factor. This study uses a quantitative approach through a survey of skincare users in Semarang City as the research population, with purposive sampling techniques applied to 180 respondents who meet the criteria of skincare consumers. The data is analyzed using SEM-PLS method. The findings indicate that both product knowledge and environmental concern significantly influence purchase intention, while purchase intention and environmental concern play a significant role in influencing purchase behavior. However, there is no direct influence of product knowledge on purchasing actions. Additionally, purchase intention serves as a mediator in the connections between product knowledge and purchase behavior, as well as between environmental concern and purchase behavior.

Abstract

Indomie Korean Ramyeon was introduced in response to the high consumption of instant noodles and the growing popularity of Korean culture in Indonesia. Increasing market competition requires companies to understand the key factors that drive consumers’ repurchase intention. This study aims to analyze the influence of Korean Wave, Price Perception, and Perceived Quality on Repurchase Intention, with Customer Satisfaction as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using an online survey of 200 respondents who had previously consumed the product. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4, and mediation effects were tested using bootstrapping. The results indicate that Korean Wave, Price Perception, and Perceived Quality have positive and significant effects on both Customer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intention. Furthermore, Customer Satisfaction mediates the relationship between Price Perception and Perceived Quality on Repurchase Intention, but does not mediate the effect of Korean Wave. These findings suggest that the Korean Wave acts as a direct driver of repurchase intention, while customer satisfaction is more strongly influenced by perceived price and product quality. Therefore, companies should maintain product quality and price-value alignment while leveraging Korean cultural trends as a marketing strategy to enhance repurchase intention.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of career development, reward system, and organizational culture on employee performance at the Regional Development Planning and Development Research Agency of Batu Bara Regency, focusing on the effect of career development. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 30 employees selected purposively. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that partially, career development has no significant effect on employee performance (t count 1.358 < t table 2.055; sig. 0.185 > 0.05). Conversely, the reward system and organizational culture have a positive and significant partial effect. However, simultaneously, these three variables have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with an F count of 12.950 > F table 2.98. This finding indicates that the existing career development program is not yet optimal and has not been able to independently drive performance improvement, so it needs to be evaluated and integrated with the reward system and strengthening organizational culture to achieve better employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of communication on employee performance at the Lubuk Pakam Primary Tax Service Office. The research method used is quantitative with a simple linear regression approach. The study population consisted of 119 employees, with a sample of 54 people taken using non-probability sampling technique and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using validity, reliability, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that communication has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This is evidenced by the t-count value of 7.255 > t-table 2.006 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The regression equation Y = 15.234 + 0.682X indicates that every one-unit increase in communication will increase employee performance by 0.682 units. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.507 indicates that communication contributes 50.7% to employee performance, while the rest is influenced by other factors. Thus, the better the communication within the office environment, the higher the employee performance.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore how financial literacy and self-discipline impact spending habits concerning “buy now, pay later” (BNPL) services among Generation Z in Cirebon City. This research utilizes a quantitative method with an explanatory framework. Data was gathered through a survey involving 199 individuals who were chosen via purposive sampling, and the analysis was carried out using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that financial literacy positively and significantly influences consumer behavior related to BNPL usage. Similarly, self-discipline also shows a positive and significant impact on consumer habits. These results imply that, in the realm of digital credit, financial awareness and self-control perceptions do not always serve as protective mechanisms; instead, they can sometimes justify persistent spending under certain circumstances. Additionally, these two factors together explain 59. 2% of the variation in consumer behavior. This research highlights the necessity of understanding consumption behavior within the BNPL framework not just through the lens of technological ease but also considering the cognitive and psychological aspects of the users.
