Abstract

General Background Leading precast concrete manufacturers place great emphasis on product quality to maintain brand reputation and satisfy high construction standards. Specific Background At PT XYZ, pile foundation production requires a comprehensive quality control system spanning from material selection and reinforcement assembly to final product inspection. Knowledge Gap However, detailed empirical evaluations examining how rigorous inspection procedures across spinning, curing, and molding stages minimize structural defects remain essential for operational excellence. Aims This study aims to examine the quality control process in the production of pile foundations at PT XYZ. Results The findings indicate that consistent quality control application across material preparation, wire caging, spinning, and curing ensures technical specification conformity, minimizes production defects, and preserves structural durability. Novelty This work provides a systematic descriptive evaluation of end-to-end precast spun pile manufacturing workflows combined with monthly defect rate monitoring. Implications The results offer practical frameworks for precast concrete industries to maintain product quality, process efficiency, and long-term customer satisfaction. Key Findings Highlights Quality control is applied systematically across every production stage from material preparation and wire caging to final inspection. Rigorous inspection procedures ensure product conformity with technical specifications while maintaining the strength and durability of spun piles. Monthly defect analysis demonstrates low defect rates below one percent, proving the effectiveness of consistent quality supervision. Keywords Quality Control, Precast Concrete, Spun Piles

Abstract

General Background Fouling is the dominant cause of the progressive loss of thermal duty in industrial heat exchangers across petrochemical, refining, and power generation sectors. Specific Background The design and monitoring of these units still rely heavily on constant fouling factors that ignore the dependency of deposition on flow rate and surface temperature. Knowledge Gap Conventional lumped methods fail to account for local hydrodynamic and thermal conditions, while existing distributed or data-driven models either impose high computational burdens or lack generalized analytical sensitivity. Aims This study develops a self-contained, simulator-independent mathematical model coupling the steady-flow energy balance, logarithmic-mean-temperature-difference (LMTD) relation, and effectiveness–number-of-transfer-units (epsilon-NTU) formulation to an asymptotic Kern-Seaton-type fouling law. Results At design velocity, the model predicts a 20.3% reduction in overall coefficient, a 10.7% loss of duty, and a 30-day fouling time constant, successfully capturing the inverse-square velocity dependence and Arrhenius film temperature effects. Novelty The framework provides a transparent, computationally trivial analytical model that integrates an explicit velocity- and temperature-dependent fouling law with epsilon-NTU performance prediction and closed-form sensitivity coefficients. Implications The proposed simulator-independent tool is readily embedded in performance-monitoring systems, online soft sensors, and cleaning-schedule optimization routines. Key Findings Highlights The dynamic model successfully couples an asymptotic fouling law with epsilon-NTU relations, demonstrating that a 20.3% drop in overall heat-transfer coefficient results in an attenuated 10.7% loss of thermal duty. Asymptotic fouling resistance and time constants scale predictably with tube velocity and film temperature, confirming that higher flow velocities suppress net deposition while surface temperature accelerates it. Closed-form sensitivity coefficients and uncertainty propagation reveal that duty is most sensitive to inlet temperature differences, and near-pinch operations significantly amplify measurement uncertainties in inferred fouling resistance. Abstract

General Background Ambient temperature variations significantly influence the thermal performance of domestic refrigeration systems operating across residential and industrial sectors. Specific Background Elevated outdoor temperatures impose greater thermal loads on condensers, reducing heat rejection capability and lowering overall system efficiency. Knowledge Gap Limited empirical research exists on evaluating alternative refrigerants and optimizing wire-and-tube condenser surface areas under diverse hot climatic conditions. Aims This study experimentally evaluates the performance of traditional finned, few-finned, and no-finned condensers using R134a and R1234yf refrigerants at ambient temperatures of 20, 30, and 40°C. Results The traditional finned condenser consistently achieved the highest coefficient of performance, while R1234yf maintained stable operating characteristics despite lower overall efficiency compared to R134a. Novelty The research provides a comprehensive comparative assessment of condenser surface area configurations and alternative low-global-warming-potential refrigerants under controlled hot climate conditions. Implications These findings offer valuable guidance for optimizing domestic refrigerator designs in high-ambient temperature regions. Key Findings Highlights The traditional finned condenser consistently demonstrated superior thermal performance and higher energy efficiency than few-finned and no-finned designs across all tested ambient temperatures. Increasing the ambient temperature from 20°C to 40°C caused a reduction in cooling capacity and coefficient of performance while increasing compressor work due to higher condensing pressures. R1234yf exhibited more stable operating characteristics under varying ambient temperatures compared to R134a, confirming its potential as an environmentally friendly alternative despite its lower overall COP. Abstract

General Background Sliding bearings in internal combustion engines endure high loads and harsh operational environments under traditionally relied upon hydrodynamic lubrication systems. Specific Background Modern engines require improved efficiency and reduced emissions, driving the transition toward mixed lubrication regimes that pose significant durability and wear challenges. Knowledge Gap Evaluating sliding bearing performance under severe operating conditions requires an integrated methodology combining practical experiments and theoretical simulations using hydroelastic models that account for contact surface deformations. Aims This research aims to present an integrated methodology combining practical experiments and theoretical simulations to evaluate sliding bearing performance under demanding engine operating conditions. Results The results indicate a complex interaction between temperature, film thickness, and load-bearing capacity, demonstrating that friction coefficients depend significantly on applied axial pressure and temperature variations. Novelty This study integrates elastohydrodynamic lubrication modeling with experimental validation to assess mixed lubrication transitions, lubricant rheology under high pressure, and iterative surface wear profiles. Implications These findings provide critical insights for developing innovative adaptive lubricating oils and advanced bearing designs to enhance durability and efficiency in internal combustion engines. Key Findings Highlights The friction coefficient increases significantly with higher loads, reflecting a transition into a mixed lubrication system. High pressure significantly increases lubricant viscosity via compressive viscosity effects, whereas high shear rates induce viscosity thinning. Iterative wear simulations using Archard's equation show that initial edge loading wear reaches a depth of 3.6 micrometers and stabilizes contact pressure over time. Abstract

General Background Product quality remains a crucial factor in the manufacturing industry because it dictates customer satisfaction, production efficiency, and organizational competitiveness. Specific Background PT. XYZ as a company operating in machine fabrication still encounters high defect levels, recording 42 defective products or an 8.83% defect rate during January–June 2026, which exceeds the corporate target of 4%. Knowledge Gap Comprehensive risk identification and failure prioritization across machine fabrication stages are required to systematically address welding irregularities and inspection oversights. Aims This study aims to identify primary defect causes, determine risk priority levels using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and establish corrective priorities through Pareto Diagram analysis. Results The FMEA results indicate that porosity in welding represents the highest risk with a Risk Priority Number (RPN) of 270, while Pareto analysis reveals that porosity, inspection escapes, undercut, and distortion account for a cumulative 46.81% contribution among 235 defect events. Novelty The integration of FMEA risk quantification with Pareto prioritization provides a structured multi-criteria approach specifically tailored to machine fabrication production lines. Implications Implementing the proposed corrective actions is expected to diminish defect rates, suppress rework volumes, and elevate overall operational efficiency at PT. XYZ. Key Findings Highlights Porosity defects during the welding process yielded the highest Risk Priority Number of 270, identifying welding operations as the most critical production stage. Pareto Diagram analysis established that porosity, inspection escapes, undercut, and welding distortion contribute a cumulative 46.81% share of total recorded defects. The empirical defect rate reached 8.83% during the observation window, significantly surpassing the organizational benchmark target of 4%. Abstract

General Background Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) remain a foundational technology for Internet of Things (IoT) deployments, offering capabilities for distributed sensing, localized data collection, and multihop communication toward edge gateways or sinks. Specific Background Routing layers within WSN designs dictate packet delivery ratios, end-to-end delays, energy consumption, network congestion, and overall operational lifetimes. Knowledge Gap Traditional routing models often rely on minimum hop counts or simplistic shortest-path metrics, which can cause early battery depletion on near-sink relay nodes and ignore dynamic wireless link variability. Aims This study introduces a computer-engineering framework designed to optimize routing protocols for WSN-based IoT systems through a novel Energy and Link-Quality Aware Routing (ELQAR) model. Results Simulation experiments demonstrate that the ELQAR framework achieves higher packet delivery ratio stability under dense node distributions, mitigates delay growth during heavy traffic loads, and extends network lifetime markers compared to baseline protocols. Novelty The approach combines remaining energy, expected transmission quality, forward hop progress, queue load, and route freshness into a unified next-hop selection score without requiring global topological information. Implications This framework provides a reproducible design and simulation environment that can be integrated into resource-constrained embedded nodes and gateway architectures to balance reliability, energy efficiency, and latency. Key Findings Highlights The ELQAR routing model combines residual energy, link quality, forward progress, queue state, and stability into a single normalized score to select optimal next-hop parents. Simulation results indicate that the optimized routing approach maintains superior packet delivery ratio stability as node densities increase from 25 to 150 nodes. Network lifetime checkpoints show that the proposed framework extends operational rounds before initial node failure and total network depletion compared to shortest-hop, LEACH-style, and RPL-like routing approaches. Abstract

General Background The construction of a steel frame warehouse requires a strong foundation system to ensure the stability and safety of the overall building. Specific Background The cold storage warehouse construction project in Cilacap uses a deep foundation in the form of precast piles and pile caps to support the structure on soft soil. Knowledge Gap In-depth evaluation of the stages of piling implementation using Hydraulic Static Pile Driver (HSPD) and testing the integrity of piles in actual soil conditions still requires comprehensive practical documentation. Aims This study aims to provide an overview of the implementation of pile and pile cap work based on field observation methods. Results The results of the observation show that the series of work includes determining the pile point, piling to the depth of the plan, quality testing, and casting of pile cap and tie beam in a monolith. Novelty This study presents the integration of actual field data from HSPD tool records with the analysis of the construction stages of the cold storage warehouse foundation. Implications This finding can be a practical reference in improving the quality of planning and implementation of foundation work in similar construction projects. Key Findings Highlights The piling work using a Hydraulic Static Pile Driver (HSPD) tool with a capacity of 320 tons has proven to be effective in minimizing vibration and noise in soft soil conditions. Quality testing through PDA test and hydraulic pressure dial data recording ensures that the mast carrying capacity has met the planning requirements. The casting of pile caps and tie beams is carried out in a monolith using K-350 concrete quality to ensure an even distribution of structural loads.
