Abstract

This qualitative study investigates the role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in fostering economic empowerment within Ketapang Village, Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency. Utilizing interviews, observation, and documentation, the research explores the BUMDes' impact on building and developing the economic potential of the local community. Findings suggest that BUMDes play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life and societal well-being, strengthening the local economy, and contributing to national economic resilience. However, challenges persist, notably the limited community involvement in decision-making, budgeting, and program evaluation. The study underscores the need for enhanced community engagement to maximize the effectiveness of BUMDes initiatives. Abstract

This study aims to provide a thorough examination of Population Administration Services and its impact on the performance of the Banjarbendo Sidoarjo Village Government. Utilizing qualitative descriptive research methods, including interviews, observation, and documentation, the research follows Agus Dwiyanto's analytical framework for data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results reveal a commendable performance in implementing Population Administration Services, showcasing high village government productivity. The assessment of service quality, encompassing nine essential elements, demonstrates overall effectiveness. However, challenges are identified, including internal issues related to information technology readiness and external constraints such as aligning service schedules with community preferences. This research contributes valuable insights to public service enhancement, emphasizing the need for adaptive strategies in addressing internal and external obstacles. Highlight : Comprehensive Analysis: The study provides an in-depth examination of Population Administration Services, offering a holistic perspective on its implementation and impact on rural governance. Abstract

This study employs a qualitative descriptive analysis method to investigate the sustainable management of organic waste in Ketapang Village, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Utilizing observation and interviews, the research applies Haris's theory to analyze economic, social, and environmental sustainability aspects. Findings reveal three key aspects: economic sustainability through the development of fruit-picking tourism, environmental sustainability via ecosystem preservation, and social sustainability by enhancing community skills. The study provides valuable insights into organic waste management, offering a reference for improving its quality and contributing to the broader objectives of sustainable development. Highlight : Economic Empowerment: The study emphasizes the development of fruit-picking tourism as a means to generate employment and economic benefits, contributing to the financial sustainability of Ketapang Village. Abstract

This study investigates community satisfaction with public services in Banjarasri Village, Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency, employing a qualitative descriptive design with a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. Using a sample of 334 randomly selected respondents, the research assesses satisfaction across nine indicators outlined in the Decree of the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform. While overall satisfaction is observed, the study reveals a neutral sentiment towards service time, indicating a need for improvement in this specific aspect. The average value of 3.17 suggests a positive community response. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of enhancing service time to further elevate public satisfaction with local services, contributing to the broader discourse on effective public administration.Highlight : Comprehensive Assessment: This study conducts a thorough evaluation of community satisfaction with public services in Banjarasri Village, encompassing various dimensions outlined in the Ministerial Decree. Abstract

This study investigates digital literacy among village government officials in Kalisogo Tambak during the implementation of the Village Information System (SID) Program. Employing a descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach, data was gathered through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The research focused on seven aspects of digital literacy, including knowledge assembly, information presentation, material comprehension, awareness of media importance, network access awareness, information filtering, and comfort with communication and information dissemination. Results indicate an overall strong digital literacy index among the village government apparatus, with the highest score in feeling comfortable and having broad access (77%) and the lowest in awareness of the importance of conventional media and its connection to internet media (70%). The findings underscore the need for targeted interventions to improve awareness in this specific aspect, offering valuable insights for enhancing integrated digital-based public services. Highlight : Integrated Digital Services: The study evaluates the digital literacy of Kalisogo Tambak's village government apparatus, providing insights into their proficiency in utilizing the SID Program for delivering integrated digital-based public services. Abstract

This study employs a qualitative description method to analyze the performance of Sidoarjo District General Election Commission employees, focusing on commissioners and various administrative roles. Utilizing interviews, observation, and documentation, the interactive data analysis model by Miles and Huberman is applied. Findings reveal commendable performance across indicators, yet highlight a notable issue with punctuality. Despite disciplined office hours, employees exhibit lower punctuality during activities and office entry. Limited working hours appear to shape their engagement, with perceived inactivity outside election periods. Various factors impede employee work at the General Election Commission in Sidoarjo Regency. Abstract

This qualitative study employs a descriptive approach and purposive sampling to investigate the effectiveness of village funds in Bluru Kidul Village, Sidoarjo District, Indonesia, utilizing Martani and Lubis' Effectiveness Theory. Despite positive strides in infrastructure development, challenges persist, particularly in the delayed repair of damaged roads leading to flood-related disruptions in community mobility. The village head plays a crucial role in fund management, and this research aims to shed light on the existing constraints. By exploring the gap between expectations and reality, our findings contribute to a better understanding of the complexities surrounding village fund utilization Highlight : Challenges in Road Maintenance: Despite successful infrastructure development, delayed repairs of damaged roads in Bluru Kidul Village contribute to flood-related disruptions, impacting community mobility. Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study investigates the implementation of the Land and Building Tax (PBB) exemption program in Sidoarjo Regency, focusing on communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Employing purposive sampling, primary data was gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. Utilizing Miles and Huberman's data analysis, the study reveals that all variables were fulfilled, with challenges arising from insufficient information dissemination by some villages and a shortage of billing staff. The Sidoarjo Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) is urged to innovate communication channels for direct community engagement and enhance staffing levels. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers and tax authorities globally, emphasizing the need for efficient communication strategies and resource allocation to ensure successful tax exemption programs. Abstract

This research employs a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the government's role in promoting gender perspective in development within Sidoarjo Regency, Indonesia. Utilizing purposive sampling, the study draws upon role theory by Soerjono Soekanto, focusing on active, participatory, and passive roles. Findings reveal that the Sidoarjo Regency Government effectively advocates and socializes gender mainstreaming, demonstrating an active role. The government engages in education and motivation, encouraging broad societal participation, exemplifying a participatory role. However, a passive role is observed in limited active involvement in socialization activities. This research underscores the importance of government initiatives in fostering gender equality, offering insights applicable to global development discourse Highlight : Government Advocacy and Socialization: The study reveals the Sidoarjo Regency Government's effective advocacy and socialization efforts in promoting gender mainstreaming, reflecting an active role. Abstract

This qualitative descriptive research explores the government's performance in handling women's violence with a focus on UPTD PPA, aiming to achieve good governance. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study, employing purposive sampling. Findings reveal that UPTD PPA falls short in realizing good governance, with deficiencies in accountability, transparency, and community participation indicators. Supporting factors include government regulations and budgetary support, along with collaboration from various agencies. Inhibiting factors involve divergent views on violence handling between UPTD PPA and the police, coupled with low public trust. This study underscores the need for enhanced collaboration and public engagement to strengthen the government's response to women's violence. Highlight : Challenges in Accountability: Lack of transparency and accountability in budget utilization by UPTD PPA hinders the realization of good governance in addressing women's violence. Technology Deficiency: Absence of technological tools for information dissemination impairs transparency within UPTD PPA, posing a barrier to effective communication with the public. Interagency Collaboration and Public Trust: Successful collaboration with government entities like the police, prosecutors, hospitals, and social services supports effective handling of women's violence, while addressing differences in understanding between UPTD PPA and the police is crucial for overall success.
