Abstract

This study examines the performance of CNC machines at PT MTAT Indonesia from January to March 2023. Monthly production data, machine uptime, defect rates, and non-productive periods were collected to assess Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of preventive maintenance of CNC machines at PT MTAT Indonesia using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method to reduce downtime. This study uses monthly data from January to March 2023, including production uptime, defect rates, and non-productive periods, to calculate OEE. The analysis showed that the CNC machines achieved an average OEE of 86.52%, surpassing the global standard of 85%, indicating high efficiency and quality. The study used Pareto analysis to identify the main causes of downtime, finding technical and maintenance issues as the main contributors. By addressing these factors, PT MTAT Indonesia can further improve machine efficiency and productivity. This study contributes to this field by providing a comprehensive analysis of CNC machine maintenance and proposing strategies for continuous improvement.

Abstract

MSMEs play an important role in reducing unemployment, alleviating poverty, and promoting economic growth. This study aims to assess the socioeconomic conditions of kue kepang business owners in Busela, Dabung, Geger, Bangkalan, Madura, and evaluate the feasibility of the business from a social and economic perspective. This qualitative research used in-depth interviews and observation to collect primary and secondary data directly from the business location. The data were analyzed descriptively to understand the socioeconomic phenomena related to the Kue Kepang business. The findings show that the Kue Kepang business significantly empowers the local community by providing jobs for 10-15 people. The business not only maintains and promotes local cultural heritage but also contributes to regional economic stability. The average monthly income of business owners ranges between IDR 5,587,714 and IDR 5,915,000, depending on whether they rent or own their business premises. However, the business faces risks such as fluctuating raw material prices and competition from similar products that need to be managed for sustainable growth. The study concludes that the Kue Kepang business is viable and beneficial from an economic and social perspective, contributing significantly to local community development and cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of social and ecological accounting in forest management, given the importance of management practices that consider not only economic aspects but also social and environmental sustainability. The research used qualitative methods with a case study approach and literature review. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews with stakeholders, and analysis of documents such as sustainability reports and forest management policies. The results show that the integration of social and ecological accounting in forest management policies can improve transparency, accountability and sustainability of forest management. This practice helps in identifying social and environmental impacts more comprehensively. The findings confirm the importance of implementing social and ecological accounting to create more environmentally responsible policies and forest communities. This research also shows that the involvement of local communities in forest management can improve the effectiveness of forest management and conservation. This research makes an important contribution to the development of sustainable forest management strategies by emphasizing the importance of social and ecological dimensions in forest management accounting.

Abstract

Various therapeutic agents can be used to help maintain a neutral condition in the oral cavity, one of which is mouthwash. However, mouthwash uses synthetic active chemical ingredients which, in the long term, may pose risks to health; in certain levels, it has been reported to cause side effects and is toxic. Bangle rhizome (Zingiber montanum) is a natural ingredient that contains various phytochemicals and has antibacterial properties. This research aims to observe the extent of inhibitory property of bangle rhizome against the growth of Streptococcus mutans, Porphyromonas gingivalis and Enterococcus faecalis. The ethanol extract of bangle rhizome was divided into 5 concentrations (60% w/v, 70% w/v, 80% w/v, 90% w/v, and 100% w/v). The inhibitory property test was performed using the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion test with 3 replications. Chlorhexidine 0.2% was used as positive control and DMSO 10% was used as negative control. The results of this research showed that the ethanol extract of bangle rhizome could inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutans, Porphyromonas gingivalis and Enterococcus faecalis bacteria in all concentrations.

Abstract

Black betel leaves (Piper betle L. var nigra) are known to have antibacterial effects caused by secondary metabolites such as tannins, phenolic compounds, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids, and steroids. This study aims to assess the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of black betel leaves (Piper betle L. var nigra) against S. mutans, P. gingivalis, and E. faecalis by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone formed. This research is a type of pure experimental research (true experimental) with post test only control group design. This experimental research was conducted using the disc diffusion method in vitro, the bacteria were treated with black betel leaf extract (Piper betle L. var nigra) with a concentration variation of 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. The experiment was repeated three times. The results showed that black betel leaf (Piper betle L. var nigra) had antibacterial activity against two of the three bacteria. This activity was observed through the presence of distinct clear zones around the paper disks. In conclusion, extracts derived from black betel leaf (Piper betle L. var nigra) had antibacterial activity against S. mutans and P. gingivalis bacteria at 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100% concentrations. However, it did not have antibacterial activity against E. faecalis bacteria.

Abstract

E-commerce has become an integral part of modern life, including among university students who increasingly rely on digital platforms to fulfill their daily needs. This study aims to understand the pattern of e-commerce use among students of UIN SMH Banten as well as the factors that influence their preferences in online shopping. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data was collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 60 students from various faculties at UIN SMH Banten. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to identify trends and correlations. The results showed that 85% of the respondents regularly use e-commerce to purchase various products, with fashion and electronic product categories being the most popular. Shopee and Tokopedia are the platforms most frequently used by college students. Key factors influencing purchasing decisions include ease of use of the platform, discount promotions, trust in transaction security, and product reviews from other users. Preferences for specific platforms and products are influenced by ease of access, price, and reputation for security. The findings indicate great potential for e-commerce providers to develop more effective marketing strategies tailored to students' preferences.

Abstract

This research aims to apply the tahfizh learning method in improving the quality of memorization for blind students at Raudlatul Makfufin Islamic Boarding School which includes planning for guidance on Al-Qur'an tahfizh learning methods for blind students, application of learning methods, results of guidance on Al-Qur'an tahfizh learning methods. This research used qualitative methods, with a case study approach design. To explore data, it requires observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, these techniques were selected according to the research focus. The research results showed that the kinds of implementation of the tahfizh Al-Qur'an learning method improved the quality of memorization of blind students at Raudlatul Makfufin Islamic Boarding School. The tahfizh program at this Islamic boarding school is a mandatory program for all students, which aims to provide services to students in improving the quality of memorization of the Al-Qur'an. The findings indicated three tahfidz methods, namely Talaqqi, Tasmi, and Tikrar method. Raudlatul Makfufin Islamic Boarding School had implemented several methods previously, however, the results have not been able to provide a solution, because 27 (twenty-seven) students who achieved the memorization target, only 1 (one) person had memorized 3 Juz in one years. This issue supports the existence of the Talaqqi, Tasmi, and Tikrar methods to provide solutions to aspects of the tahfizh learning method for blind students. Based on the evaluation and supervision of tahfizh Al-Qur'an learning, it can significantly improve the quality and quantity of memorization for blind students, especially at the elementary level.

Abstract

The imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and endogenous antioxidants can cause various diseases, so exogenous antioxidants from plants such as bamboo shoots (Bambusa vulgaris) are needed. This study explored the antioxidant capacity, toxicity, and phytochemical content of bamboo shoot extracts. Using an in vitro experimental design, we analyzed bamboo shoot extracts for phytochemical content, antioxidant capacity using the DPPH method, and toxicity using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT). The research was conducted from December 2020 to June 2021 at the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory, Tarumanagara University. Data were analyzed using Graph Pad Prism V.8 software with the level of significance set at p<0.05. Phytochemical test results showed the presence of alkaloids, anthocyanins, betasianins, cardiac glycosides, coumarins, flavonoids, glycosides, phenolics, quinones, saponins, terpenoids, and tannins. The bamboo shoot extract showed antioxidant capacity with IC50 value of 673.54 µg/mL, total phenolic content of 2923.65 µg/mL, and total alkaloid content of 7.34 µg/mL. The toxicity test showed an LC50 value of 362.16 µg/mL. The bamboo shoot extract showed potential as an antioxidant and anti-mitotic agent, although its antioxidant capacity was lower than that of ascorbic acid. The presence of various secondary metabolites contributes to its bioactive properties. Further research is needed to explore its potential applications in preventing diseases caused by free radicals. Bamboo shoot extract contains significant amounts of phenolic compounds and other phytochemicals, which exhibit antioxidant and toxic properties, making it a potential natural source for antioxidant agents.

Abstract

Mixue is one of the most popular contemporary drink brands in Indonesia. One of the important raw materials for Mixue is lemon. In Indonesia, there are two types of lemon raw material suppliers, namely imported suppliers and local suppliers. This research aims to examine and compare the use of lemon raw materials from official suppliers of PT. Zhisheng Pacific Trading (MIXUE) imports raw materials from local suppliers in the context of use by Mixue retail stores operating in the food and beverage sector. This research uses mixed methods between qualitative methods and quantitative methods. Data collection techniques in this research were observation, interviews and questionnaires. Mixue is one of the most popular contemporary drink brands in Indonesia. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that local suppliers are superior to most of the factors considered than official suppliers. There is positive interest from experts involved in research regarding the use of lemon raw materials from local suppliers. From this research, recommendations and suggestions were obtained to consider updating policies related to regulations on the use of raw materials from third parties by considering all the advantages possessed by local suppliers in various factors. The results of this research state that local suppliers are superior in price and logistics efficiency. Official suppliers offer stable and reliable product quality.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global health problem that affects millions of people, characterized by a progressive decline in kidney function. This study aims to determine Drug Related Problems (DRPs) in the treatment management of CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) patients. This study used the literature review method. The research results from the collected literature will be summarized and presented in the form of descriptive analysis. Researchers will conduct literature searches through online sites such as Google Scholar, PubMed, ResearchGate, Elsevier, and NCBI. The keywords used are “CKD risk factors” and “drug therapy for CKD patients”. The results of the search for relevant literature will be collected and selected according to the inclusion criteria. The research results from the collected literature will be presented in the form of a descriptive table. The table will include information such as author, year of publication, article title, and summary of the study results. The prevalence of drug-related problems (DRP) in CKD patients ranges from 12% to 87%. Commonly found problems include ineffective treatment, inappropriate drug selection, and drug dosing issues. Regular drug monitoring and dose adjustment are essential to reduce adverse drug reactions and improve patient outcomes. Effective drug therapy management and patient education are essential to improve the quality of care and life of CKD patients. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the importance of identifying and addressing drug-related problems (DRPs) to improve treatment effectiveness in CKD patients. Close drug monitoring and comprehensive patient education are key components in the optimal management of CKD.
