Abstract

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is currently the most commonly used invasive procedure in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). PCI procedure can cause friction to the endothelium leading to the release and activation of thrombin. Thrombin activation increases the risk of restenosis. This study aims to determine the effect of PCI on TAT levels in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. This study was conducted on CAD patients who will undergo PCI and have met the inclusion criteria. Blood samples were collected before and after PCI procedure and were examined for TAT measurements. The value obtained is then analyzed based on changes in values before and after the PCI procedure, and is significant if the p-value <0.05. A total of 20 subjects, 17 males and 3 females. The mean of pre-PCI procedure for and TAT were 6.1 ± 1.02 while the mean of post-PCI procedure for TAT were 5.17 ± 1.36, with a significant with the p-value <0.001. There is an increase level of AT-III and a decrease level of TAT in post-PCI CAD patients.

Abstract

Follow-up menunjukkan penyembuhan optimal dan peningkatan kualitas hidup.

Abstract

The esports industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, attracting the attention of various sponsors to utilize these platforms in achieving their business goals. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of esports sponsorship in the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) on brand associations and consumer purchase intentions. Using a quantitative approach and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques through SmartPLS, data was collected from 160 respondents who are active in the esports community in Indonesia. The results showed that positive attitudes towards sponsors (?=0.461, p<0.001) and sincerity of sponsorship motives (?=0.177, p=0.039) had a significant effect on brand association. Sponsor-event suitability (?=0.241, p=0.030) and activity engagement (?=0.240, p=0.004) were also shown to strengthen brand associations. For purchase intent, attitudes towards sponsors (?=0.391, p<0.001), sincerity of motives (?=0.223, p=0.013), and activity involvement (?=0.197, p=0.037) showed significant influences. This research model was able to explain 88.3% of brand association variance and 85% of purchase intention variance. These findings provide strategic insights for esports sponsors to optimize their investments through an authentic and relevant approach to the target audience.

Abstract

Down Syndrome (DS) is a genetic disorder characterized by intellectual and physical developmental delays, often accompanied by craniofacial anomalies such as cleft lip and palate (CLP). These structural abnormalities impair feeding, swallowing, and oral functions, leading to nutritional deficiencies and growth challenges. This study explores the use of a feeding plate as a non-surgical intervention to improve feeding efficiency in DS patients with CLP. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of feeding plates in enhancing nutritional intake, stabilizing tongue position, and supporting craniofacial development. A case study was conducted on a 2-day-old male DS patient with palatoschisis. The feeding plate was fabricated under inhalation sedation, with impressions taken using putty material. The device was inserted and adjusted to ensure comfort and functionality. Parental education on usage and hygiene was emphasized. Findings revealed significant improvements in feeding efficiency, with the patient’s weight increasing from 3 kg to 5.5 kg over three months. The feeding plate also reduced nasal regurgitation and aspiration risks while providing psychological relief to caregivers. Early intervention with feeding plates was shown to be crucial for preoperative preparation and overall quality of life. The study underscores the importance of multidisciplinary care and early prosthetic intervention in DS patients with CLP. Feeding plates serve as a transitional tool, bridging the gap until surgical correction, and highlight the need for tailored, family-centered approaches in managing syndromic craniofacial anomalies.

Abstract

Mucocele is a benign lesion commonly found in the oral cavity, particularly on the lower lip, resulting from mucus retention or extravasation from the minor salivary glands. Although typically painless, it can interfere with oral functions such as speaking and eating, affecting patient comfort. Surgical excision is the preferred management, especially for large, recurrent, or functionally disruptive lesions. This case report presents the management of a mucocele in a pediatric patient using an excision technique under general anesthesia, considering the patient’s young age, limited cooperation, and the sensitive location of the lesion. The procedure was performed carefully to avoid damage to adjacent tissues and minimize recurrence risk. The outcome showed good healing without complications and a significant improvement in the patient's comfort. Excision under general anesthesia is an effective management option for mucocele in pediatric cases where conventional approaches are challenging.

Abstract

Abstract

Skeletal Class II malocclusion is a condition involving disharmony between the maxilla and mandible, often caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, including deleterious habits such as thumb sucking. This habit may exacerbate anterior dental proclination, mandibular retrusion, and occlusal disturbances. This case management involves a combined approach of habit-breaking therapy using an oral screen and fixed orthodontic treatment to correct dental position and jaw relationship. The case report demonstrates successful control of the thumb-sucking habit through behavioral management and the use of an oral screen, followed by the application of fixed orthodontic appliances to correct the malocclusion. Treatment outcomes included improved facial esthetics, occlusal function, and behavioral modification. Comprehensive and multidisciplinary management is essential to achieve optimal results in patients with skeletal discrepancies and persistent oral habits.
