Baitul Ulum: jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan
Jurnal Baitul al-‘ulum : Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi terbit dua kali dalam satu tahun (setiap bulan Juni dan Desember) merupakan kumpulan hasil karya dosen, pustakawan, peneliti dan arsiparis dengan lingkup kajian perpustakaan, kepustakawanan, informasi (information studies) dan kearsipan, karena itu menjadi wadah pengembangan ilmu perpustakaan dan informasi yang kritis, dinamis dan aktual. Jurnal Al- Baitul al-‘ulum : Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi menampilkan karya tulis berbahasa Indonesia dengan fokus pada perkembangan keilmuan yang merupakan hasil penelitian atau kajian teoritis yang berkaitan dengan literatur perpustakaan dan informasi serta kearsipan. Jurnal ini diterbitkan oleh Jurusan Ilmu Perpustakaan dan informasi Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, baik edisi cetak maupun online. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk memunculkan hasil karya dari penelitian secara berkualitas berdasarkan data aktual dan asli yang berkontribusi untuk para dosen, pustakawan, peneliti dan arsiparis studi ilmu perpustakaan dan informasi. Dari aspek perpustakaan diharapkan akan dapat ditampilkan analisis terhadap konsep/ teori dan struktur kajian ilmu perpustakaan yang mencakup kepustakawanan. Serta dari aspek informasi (information studies) diharapkan akan dapat dimunculkan analisis tentang teknologi informasi, sosial informasi (information social) dan lain-lain secara konprehensif dan berkualitas.

Abstract

Fasilitas sebagai peran pendukung dari aktivitas dan program yang ada di perpustakaan seharusnya dipenuhi dan dibuat selayak mungkin, karena dengan fasilitas yang layak perpustakaan bisa menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung dalam akses informasi. Kendala yang sering kali terjadi dalam proses pengembangan fasilitas adalah pendanaan atau penyedia sumber daya. Perpustakaan IPDN memiliki inovasi untuk melakukan kerjasama dengan BNI. Tujuan utama dari jalinan kerja sama ini adalah sebagai terobosan inovatif dalam rangka meningkatkan kinerja IPDN. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meneliti lebih lanjut mengenai dampak dari kerjasama antara BNI dengan perpustakaan Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri, serta mengetahui juga terkait fasilitas apa saja yang telah dikembangkan dari hasil kerjasama tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan studi kasus, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data adalah menggunakan wawancara, observasi, studi dokumen dan studi literatur. Setelah melakukan penelitian, hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perpustakaan IPDN berhasil melakukan kerjasama dengan BNI dalam bidang pengembangan fasilitas. Bentuk keuntungan yang diberikan adalah pengadaan sarana dan prasarana, penataan tata ruang, hingga desain interior.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of the Rumbai Reading House in increasing the reading literacy of the people of Jambi City. The main discussion in this research is about the role of the Rumbai Reading House in improving literacy in the community, which has been established since 2015. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this Reading House are the Chair of the Reading House, its members and the community. To measure data validation, triangulation is used. First, the role of the Reading House in Reading Literacy Activities. Community Recognizes Asam Atas RT 14 Kec, Kota Baru, Jambi City. Viewed from three aspects: (1) Sources of Information The sources of information owned by the Rumbai Reading House can help visitors fulfill their information needs, both formal and informal. (2) When visiting the community, visits to the Rumbai Reading House appear to be lacking. , only a few people came to visit. This shows that there is less interest in visiting the Rumbai Reading House. (3) Interest in Reading shows that efforts to increase interest in reading in the RT 14 Kenali Asam community need to pay attention to children's preferences for other educational media, such as educational films, as well as designing literacy strategies or programs that are interesting and relevant for them, so that interest in reading can be achieved. increases. Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the MTsS Ulumul Quran library in supporting the religious moderation program and the strategies used by the MTsS Ulumul Quran library in implementing the religious moderation program among madrasahs. Based on data found in the field, the MTsS Ulumul Quran library together with teachers have made efforts to increase awareness and understanding of students about religious moderation, provide a religious moderation reading corner, and expand access to digital information. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The subject in this study was a librarian who was selected using the purposive sampling technique. The results of the study indicate that the role of the MTsS Ulumul Quran library in implementing the religious moderation as the followings: as the main source of teaching and learning activities, developing reading interests and habits, a strategic place to find information, a place to establish communication between users, as an agent of change, builder, and preservation of culture, and the level of community progress. This study also revealed several obstacles faced by the library, namely limited collections, difficulty in attracting students' interest in reading, and lack of discussion space in the library. The implementation of the "Rakan Lima" strategy with a focus on increasing understanding of religious moderation and providing a special reading corner for religious moderation shows the library's commitment to building a tolerant, peaceful, and culturally diverse madrasah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran perpustakaan MTsS Ulumul Quran dalam mendukung program moderasi beragama serta strategi yang dilakukan perpustakaan MTsS Ulumul Quran dalam mengimplementasikan program moderasi beragama di kalangan madrasah. Berdasarkan data yang ditemukan di lapangan, perpustakaan MTsS Ulumul Quran bersama dengan guru telah berupaya dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman santri tentang moderasi beragama, menyediakan pojok baca moderasi beragama, dan memperluas akses informasi digital. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini 1 orang pustakawan yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan telah berperan dalam mendukung program moderasi beragama dengan menjadikan perpustakaannya sebagai sumber utama kegiatan belajar mengajar , pengembangan minat dan kebiasaan membaca terkait, tempat strategis dalam mencari informasi, wadah menjalin komunikasi antar pengguna, sebagai agen perubahan, pembangun, dan pelestarian budaya, dan tingkatan kemajuan masyarakat. Walaupun demikian ,penelitian ini juga mengungkap beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh perpustakaan yaitu keterbatasan koleksi, sulitnya menarik minat baca santri, dan kurangnya ruang diskusi di perpustakaan. Penerapan strategi “Rakan Lima” dengan fokus pada peningkatan pemahaman moderasi beragama dan penyediaan pojok baca khusus moderasi beragama menunjukkan komitmen perpustakaan dalam membangun madrasah yang toleran, damai, dan menghargai keragaman budaya.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to reveal how to build librarians' emotional intelligence in the Service work environment of the Library and Archives Intitutional of Jambi regional. The concept of emotional intelligence developed by Goelman is a concept that has several variants for measuring a person's emotional intelligence. The research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach which aims to reveal phenomena in the field. Purposive sampling is a selected sample where the head of the department is the key informant, then 14 librarians are the informants. Data was collected through documentation, structured and unstructured interviews, observation. Data analysis uses the Miles & Huberman concept which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results show that the role of emotional intelligence in supporting the service performance of librarians is recognizing one's emotions, demonstrated by an attitude of emotional awareness, careful assessment, and self-confidence. Managing emotions is demonstrated by being self-aware, trustworthy, alert, adaptable and innovative. Self-motivation is shown by encouraging achievement, commitment, initiative and optimism. Recognizing other people's emotions is shown by understanding other people, dealing with diversity, and political awareness. Building relationships is demonstrated by an influential attitude, the ability to overcome conflict management, and the ability to collaborate. Recommendation Key word : Emotional intelligence; service performance; Library and Archives ABSTRAK Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mengungkap bagaimana membangun kecerdasan emosional pustakawan di lingkungan kerja pelayanan Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip daerah Jambi. Konsep kecerdasan emosional yang dikembangkan oleh Goelman merupakan konsep yang memiliki beberapa varian untuk mengukur kecerdasan emosional seseorang. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang bertjuan mengungkap fenomena di lapangan. Purposive sampling merupakan sampel yang terpilih dimana kepala Dinas sebagai key informan, selanjutnya 14 pustakawan sebagai informan. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi, wawancara terstruktur dan tidak tersttruktur, obeservasi. Analisis data menggunakan konsep Miles & Huberman yang terdiri dari pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan Penarikan Kesimpulan/Verifikasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peran kecerdasan emosional dalam menunjang kinerja pelayanan pustakawan adalah Mengenali emosi diri ditunjukkan dengan sikap kesadaran emosi, penilaian secara teliti, dan kepercayaan diri. Mengelola emosi ditunjukkan dengan sikap kenali diri, dapat dipercaya, kewaspadaan, adaptabilitas, dan inovasi. Memotivasi diri ditunjukkan dengan sikap dorongan berprestasi, komitmen, inisiatif, dan optimis. Mengenali emosi orang lain ditunjukkan dengan sikap memahami orang lain, mengatasi keberagaman, dan kesadaran politis. Membina hubungan ditunjukkan dengan sikap berpengaruh, kemampuan mengatasi manajemen konflik, dan kemampuan berkolaborasi. Abstract

Collection is the most important thing in the Library, but the collections contained must also comply with applicable standards. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the National Library Standards (SNP 699: 2017) at the Archives and Library Service of Jambi City, especially related to the management of library collections. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The method of determining the subjects in this study is by Purposive Sampling using the Miles and Huberman model analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of the study indicate that aspects that are in accordance with the SNP include types of collections, collections per capita, and collection preservation, which indicate the diversity of collections and attention to collection maintenance. Meanwhile, aspects of collection development and collection up-to-dateness are almost in accordance, although there are shortcomings in written policies and the number of recent collections that have not reached the standards required by the SNP. On the other hand, aspects that are not fully in accordance with the SNP include the procurement of library materials, where the budget allocated is much lower than the needs regulated by the SNP. Abstract

Management of Library collections at State High School 8, Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province. The Library is one of the infrastructure facilities that every school must have. The aim of this research is to optimization of library collection management at SMAN Negeri 8 Batanghari regency, Jambi province. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research show that (1) The flow of library collection management at SMA Negeri 8 Batanghari Regency, jambi Province is inventory, classification, cataloging, making library equipment, arranging library collections on library shelves. The majority og library collection management is carried out by the library manager of state High School 8, Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province. (2) Barriers to managing library collections at SMA Negeri 8 Batanghari Regency, Jambi Province (3) Effort to prevent several obstacles in the process of managing library collections at SMA Negeri 8 Regency, Jambi Province. Abstract

The ideovisual reading technique is the "Implementation of the Ideovisual Reading Technique to Support the School Literacy Movement in Special Schools for the Deaf (SLB-B) under the YPAC Foundation for Child Development (YPAC) Banda Aceh." The aim is to understand the implementation of ideovisual reading for deaf students in SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh and identify the challenges faced in applying ideovisual reading at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh. The subjects of this study are three high school teachers from SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that ideovisual reading is implemented in teaching deaf students at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh through the stages of the School Literacy Movement (GLS), which consist of planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. In the planning stage, adjustments are made to materials according to students' needs and the planning of school literacy movement activities. The implementation stage involves applying ideovisual reading, teacher-student interactions, and student participation in the school literacy movement. In the evaluation stage, assessments are conducted on the consistency of using visual media in learning, the intensity of literacy application, the variety of reading materials, the frequency of book borrowing, and the presentation of information to students. Ideovisual reading has become a technique used by teachers to deliver materials, thus enhancing the literacy skills of deaf students. However, its application at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh faces minor challenges, including a lack of supporting tools, limited teacher skills in using ideovisual media, and differences in learning curricula. The solutions to these challenges include providing the necessary equipment by the school and training teachers in ideovisual reading skills. Thus, the implementation of ideovisual reading media can be further developed to support the literacy development of deaf students at SLB-B YPAC Banda Aceh.
