Abstract

This article aims to find out how the mathematical representation abilities and difficulties experienced by students in solving problems in the Linear Program course. The research method uses descriptive quantitative methods. Subjects in this study were students of level III Mathematics Education Study Program, University of Suryakancana, data collection was carried out using test instruments in the form of descriptive questions related to mathematical representation abilities. The results of this study are: 1) Students have a fairly good mathematical representation ability and are classified as moderate in the linear program course but are still weak in indicators of the ability to represent mathematical expressions (making mathematical equations or models, solving problems involving mathematical expressions). This is because students are not familiar with story questions and non-routine questions and mathematical representation questions; 2) Students experience difficulties in designing, compiling, formulating and constructing mathematical models correctly, determining the feasible area (solution area) as well as the solution point of the given problem, as well as carelessness and lack of student care in calculating and completing the iteration process and forgetting to determine variables entry and exit so that it has an impact on the work results / improper solutions of the problems presented.

Abstract

Penjadwalan adalah kegiatan untuk menentukan waktu yang dibutuhkan dan urutan kegiatan serta menentukan waktu proyek dapat diselesaikan. Aljabar Max-plus merupakan salah satu metode yang bisa digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah penjadwalan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui model Aljabar Max-plus dalam pembangunan perumahan dan waktu optimum dalam menyelesaikan proyek pembangunan perumahan. solusi optimal waktu dalam pembangunan perumahan. Penelitian menggunakan metode Analisis data dengan menggunakan studi literatur dan pengumpulan data. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan data primer. Adapun prosdur dalam penelitian ini yaitu mengambil data pembangunan peumahan, membuat alur petri net, mencari model Aljabar Max-plus, membuat matriks Aljabar Max-plus, mengolah data, dan mencari jalur kritis. Hasil penelitian diperoleh waktu optimal meggunakan analisis model Aljabar Max-plus yaitu selama 62 hari.

Abstract

This research aims describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts based on their cognitive level. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The subjects were selected by 3 students based on their cognitive level using purposive sampling technique, obtained one student in the high, medium and low categories. Data collection through tests, interviews, and documentation analyzed through stages of data reduction, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Based on results of data analysis, it found that students' ability to understand mathematical quadrilateral is cognitive level high and moderate are able to solve problems on indicators providing examples and not examples of a concept. And students a high cognitive level are able to solve problems on indicators restating a concept. Meanwhile, students a low cognitive level were unable to solve any of questions. So students at high, medium and low cognitive levels are unable to solve problems on the indicators of classifying objects according to certain properties according to the concept, and applying the concept of algorithms in problem solving. So can concluded that ability to understand the mathematical concepts of the material of sagiempat flat is low.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' self-regulated learning level and students' mathematical connection ability for each self-regulated learning level. The topic used is quadrilateral. This is qualitative research with descriptive method. Study took place at Desa Ancaran Kec./ Kab. Kuningan, West Java, with subjects consisting of six seventh grade SMP/MTs students. Data is collected using questionnaires, tests, interviews, and documentation. Questionnaire and mathematical connection ability tests were given to all six subjects. After collecting data, analysis is performed with steps: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Result shows that out of six subjects, 1 student is classified high in self-regulated learning category and 5 other students are classified average in self-regulated learning category. Out of three selected subjects, 1 student with high level of self-regulated learning has connection ability in good category, while 2 students with average level of self-regulated learning have mathematical connections in sufficient category. Student with high level of self-regulated learning can fulfill three of the five indicators of mathematical connection ability, 1 student with average self-regulated learning can fulfill two indicators, and 1 student with other self-regulated learning can fulfill one indicator of mathematical connection.Keywords: Mathematical Connection Ability, Self-Regulated Learning, Quadrilateral

Abstract

This research is a development research with the aim of this research is to obtain HOTS-based mathematics textbooks that are valid and suitable for use and can support students' mathematical abilities, one of which is high-order thinking skills. The 2013 curriculum emphasizes modern pedagogical dimensions in learning, namely using a scientific approach. The research method used is development research or known as RD (research and development). R D model used is Borg and Gall which includes the following stages: preliminary study, design, product development. The final stage of Borg and Gall's RD research method is implementation. Researchers used the modified results of the Borg and Gall RD research method due to limited research time and ineffective pandemic conditions for maximum implementation, as evidenced in a limited trial of online learning to one class XI SMA only about 20% responded. The teaching materials developed are in the form of learning modules for SMA and SMK levels. The results of this study can be concluded that the developed book products meet the very good criteria of each category. In other words, the developed book product is said to be valid and suitable for use.

Abstract

Students usually have difficulties in visualizing images that are caused by the lack of students’ conceptual understanding. We need learning which is able to help the students’ conceptual construction. One of them is by using technology in learning. This study aimed to develop students’ worksheets using a scientific approach based on GeoGebra for the eleven-grade of senior high school in Mataram-Indonesia. This study type was Research and Development (RD) using Plom model. The developed product was validated by experts and tested for its practicality by mathematics teachers and students. The quality of the product refers to the validity and effectiveness of the product. The results of expert validation and field try out indicated that the developed worksheet is valid and practical. The result of the research showed that students’ worksheet is valid and effective with validation average score is 4.44 and effective. The students’ average score is 86.84% (above the minimum standard) and the average of students' responses is 87.72% (positive category). It can be concluded that the developed worksheet can be used in the classroom
