Abstract

Pemecahan masalah adalah tingkatan berpikir tertinggi yang dibutuhkan siswa dalam belajar matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa ditinjau dari perspektif gender. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat siswa SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa kelas X pada tahun pelajaran 2018/2019, yang terdiri dua siswa laki-laki dan dua siswa perempuan. Tahap penelitian dimulai dengan pemilihan subjek penelitian yang ditentukan berdasarkan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang setara. Setelah pemilihan subjek, selanjutnya pemberian tugas pemecahan masalah, persamaan kuadrat, dan wawancara. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan triangulasi sumber dengan wawancara dua kali yaitu memberi tes kepada siswa yang berbeda tetapi memiliki kemampuan yang sama dan jenis kelamin yang sama sehingga menghasilkan data yang konsisten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa perempuan memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa laki-laki berdasarkan langka Polya: 1) memahami masalah, 2) perencanaan penyelesaian, 3) menyelesaikan masalah, dan 4) melihat kembali jawaban.

Abstract

Problem solving is the highest level of thinking which students need in learning mathematics. This study aims to describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of gender’s perspective. The research subjects consisted of four students of Class X at SMAIT Al-Fityan School Gowa in the 2018/2019 academic year, consisting of two male students and two female students. The research phase begins with the selection of research subjects determined based on equivalent problem solving ability tests. After selecting the subject, the next phase is giving assignment problem solving, quadratic equations, and interviews. The validity of the data is done by using triangulation of sources by twice interviews, giving tests to students who are different but have the same ability and the same sex in order to produce consistent data. The results showed that female students had better mathematical problem-solving abilities compared to male students based on Polya Steps: 1) understanding the problem, 2) planning the solution, 3) solving the problem, and 4) looking back at the answers.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep merupakan hal dasar mempelajari matematika. Prinsip yang ada pada matematika dapat diterapkan jika konsep matematika dapat dipahami dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman konsep matematika khususnya statistika melalui penggunaan instrument soal two tier test berbasis online.. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan Bahasa Inggris  semester IV dengan jumlah responden 75 mahasiswa. Hasil analisis data menggunakan two tier test diperoleh bahwa tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa pada indikator memahami sebesar 35%, miskonsepsi-1 sebesar 20,67%, miskonsepsi-2 sebesar 15%, dan tidak memahami sebesar 29,33%. Hasil lain menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada level comparing hanya sebesar 13,33% jauh lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan ketiga indikator lainnya yaitu interpreting, classifying, dan interferring.

Abstract

This study is a survey research using quantitative approach. The subject in this study was eighth grade students with 132 students. Data in this study were collected using two instruments, namely mathematics reasoning ability tests and self-efficacy questionnaires. Analysis of the data in this study was divided into two parts, namely descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis described of mathematical reasoning ability and self-efficacy. Inferential analysis used Pearson product moment correlation test to find relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical reasoning ability. The results of the study showed that the students' self-efficacy was in high category and the strength aspect was the dimension of self-efficacy with the highest score. In mathematical reasoning ability, the ability of students to give correct and complete evidence of solutions has the highest score. The result of correlation test showed that there was relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical reasoning ability with a positive relationship

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to produce creative and interesting mathematics learning media using easy sketch application. The subjects for this service activity are teachers who are members of the Forum MGMP Matematika wilayah II Polewali Mandar. The method in this service was training to make creative and interesting learning media in the form of videos. This service activity began with explanation of material about learning media which includes: the importance of using appropriate learning media for students, types of learning media, teacher obstacles in making creative and interesting learning media examples of IT-based learning. Furthermore, exercises were carried out to make learning videos using the easy sketch. The service team consisted of lecturers and students. Overall this service activity went well and smoothly. This was shown by the attention of the participants during the training, number of questions asked about the material, and the learning videos produced by the participants. Some participants had been able to make complete learning videos which include: learning objectives, material explanations, sample questions, and practice questions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah cluster random sampling. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA MAN 1 Bone dengan kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks tuntas dengan mencapai 84%, aktivitas peserta didik mencapai kriteria aktif dengan mencapai 70,93%, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran sangat baik. Dari hasil uji hipotesis terhadap kelas kontrol dan eksperimen yang berdistribusi normal dan homogenitas diperoleh  bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika setelah diterapkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran ekspositori. Oleh karena itu, disimpulkan bahwa penerapan penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Pair Checks efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika

Abstract

Students usually have difficulties in visualizing images that are caused by the lack of students’ conceptual understanding. We need learning which is able to help the students’ conceptual construction. One of them is by using technology in learning. This study aimed to develop students’ worksheets using a scientific approach based on GeoGebra for the eleven-grade of senior high school in Mataram-Indonesia. This study type was Research and Development (RD) using Plom model. The developed product was validated by experts and tested for its practicality by mathematics teachers and students. The quality of the product refers to the validity and effectiveness of the product. The results of expert validation and field try out indicated that the developed worksheet is valid and practical. The result of the research showed that students’ worksheet is valid and effective with validation average score is 4.44 and effective. The students’ average score is 86.84% (above the minimum standard) and the average of students' responses is 87.72% (positive category). It can be concluded that the developed worksheet can be used in the classroom

Abstract

Through mathematics students can develop various abilities such as: reasoning ability, analytical thinking ability, critical thinking ability and problem solving ability. During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers are required to maintain the substance of the mathematics material taught to students. This study aims to describe and analyze the teacher's strategy in implementing online mathematics learning at the elementary school level. The sample of this study was elementary school teachers totaling 129 people spread over 33 elementary schools in the South Sulawesi region. The instrument used in the study to collect data was in the form of a strategy questionnaire for elementary school teachers to carry out mathematics learning and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques in this study consist of data reduction, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that online learning was not more effective than face-to-face learning in class. However, various strategies are carried out by teachers to overcome these problems so that online mathematics learning can be carried out in accordance with the needs of students. These strategies include: making learning videos, building good communication with parents, providing additional lesson hours, forming small study groups for students, encouraging parents to participate in learning so that they can assist teachers in guiding children to study at home.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan perbedaan pengaruh dari penerapan TGT dan DL dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi Experiment. Populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VI sekolah dasar dengan sampel yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive Random Sampling terdiri dari du kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan mengumpulkan data yaitu observasi keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran dan tes akhir pembelajaran berupa tes essay. Hasil pengujian secara deskriptif yaitu penerapan TGT berpengaruh positif dibandingkan dengan DL ditinjau berdasarkan hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa. Berdasarkan pengujian inferensial pada hipotesis penelitian dengan uji t ditemukan thitung > α berarti terdapat perbedaan pengaruh, dimana pengaruh penerapan model TGT lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan DL. Sehingga, secara umum diinterpretasikan bahwa TGT berpengaruh positif dibandingkan dengan DL terhadap hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa sekolah dasar.TEAMS GAMES TOURNAMENT (TGT) AND DISCOVERY LEARNING (DL) IN LEARNING MATHEMATICS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLAbstract: This study describes the different effects of the application of TGT and DL in mathematics learning in elementary schools. This research is a Quasi Experiment. The population of this research is the sixth grade students of elementary school. The sample is determined by using purposive random sampling technique consisting of two classes. The instruments used to collect data were the observation of student activeness in learning and the final test of learning in the form of an essay test. The results of the descriptive test, namely the application of TGT have a positive effect compared to DL in terms of learning outcomes and student activity. Based on inferential testing on the research hypothesis with the t test, it was found that tcount > α means that there is a difference in influence, where the effect of applying the TGT model is higher than that of DL. Thus, it is generally interpreted that TGT has a positive effect compared to DL on learning outcomes and the activeness of elementary school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning motivation and mathematics anxiety on mathematics learning outcomes through metacognition ability. This research is an ex-post facto research with a sample of 78 students, namely class XI MIPA 1 and class XI MIPA 3 SMA who were selected using cluster random sampling. The data collection technique used the following instruments: learning motivation questionnaire, mathematics anxiety questionnaire, metacognition ability questionnaire, and mathematics learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the trimming model path analysis. The results showed that: (1) student learning motivation has a direct and significant effect on students' metacognition abilities, (2) learning motivation has an indirect effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes through students' metacognition abilities, (3) student learning anxiety has an indirect effect on student learning outcomes through k students' metacognition abilities
