Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution of length to weight, sex ratio, gonad maturity level of julung fish (Hemiramphus lutkei) traded in Sanggeng and Borobudur Manokwari fish markets, West Papua. Research data collection was carried out for ± 1 month, namely February - March 2021, using a descriptive method. The number of fish samples collected was 542 fish. The results of the analysis of the size distribution of julung-julung fish during sampling for body length ranged from 219 – 355 mm for males and 215 -380 mm for females, with a body weight range of 27-53 grams for males and 30-65 grams. The sex ratio analysis of julung julung fish was obtained for males (321 fish) and females (221 fish) significantly different, which means this ratio deviated from the ideal value of 1:1. Based on the results of the analysis show that the value of X2 -count > X2 -table, then H0 is rejected, which means the sex ratio of male and female fish is not balanced from TKG I-VII for males and TKG II-VII for females and mostly found in TKG III conditions. The size of the male julung fish when the gonads first mature was estimated at a length of about 230-260 mm and the female at a size of 250-280 mm. The average Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) of female julung fish was 0.0876 and the standard error was 0.0061 with a GSI range of 0.0092 – 0.7574. The relation- ship between TKG and GSI shows that the increasing stage of fish gonad maturity will be followed by an increase in the value of the fish gonadal index.

Abstract

Heavy metals are hazardous pollutants because they are toxic. If present in large quantities, it can affect the ecological and biological aspects of waters. Heavy metals are included in the group of dangerous pollutants because they have non-biodegradable properties and are easily absorbed or precipitated. This study aims to determine the concentration of heavy metals Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn, oceanographic parameters, and pollution index in the waters of Yos Sudarso Bay. Sampling points are in three locations with consideration as pollutant-producing locations. The analysis of sea water quality was carried out descriptively by comparing the results of the analysis with sea water quality standards based on the Decree of the Minister of the Environment Number 51 of 2004 and the pollution index method to see the pollution category. The results showed that the concentration of heavy metals Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn had exceeded the water quality standard based on the Decree of the Minister of the Environment Number 51 of 2004. For water parameters, namely the temperature had exceeded the water quality standard. standard. standard. quality standard, DO and salinity are less than quality standard, pH is below quality standard, phosphate and nitrate exceed the quality standard based on the Decree of the Minister of the Environment Number 51 of 2004. The pollution index for stations 1, 2 and 3 is lightly and moderately polluted.

Abstract

Holtekam village has potential resources in coastal waters. Potential coastal resources in the waters of Kampung Holtekam include coral reefs and fish. The waters of Kampung Holtekam become a source of livelihood for fishermen to find fish and become a tourist destination for various communities. Population growth and development continues to grow and develop in the coastal area of Kampung Holtekam. This has a negative impact on the waters of Kampung Holtekam. Based on the above, it is suspected that the water quality of Holtekam Village has decreased and the health of the coral reef ecosystem is also disturbed. This study aims to determine the condition of the waters based on physical and chemical factors and to determine the health status and condition of coral reefs in the waters of Holtekam Village, Muara District. Water quality data collection techniques are carried out in situ at 5 data collection points which are considered representative of the area around coral reefs and to obtain data and information on coral reef ecosystems using the Point Intercept Transec (PIT) method (Manuputty and Djuwariah. (2009). Analysis of the data in this study, the water condition data obtained were analyzed descriptively and compared with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment No. 51 of 2004 concerning Water Quality Standards for Marine Biota. Coral reef data obtained, analyzed the percentage of coral reef cover following the Manuputty and Djuwariah formula (2009). From the research that has been done it can be concluded that the water quality of Kampung Holtekam is based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment ganHidup Number 51 (2004) concerning water quality standards for marine biota, water quality parameters for temperature, DO and pH are still suitable for coral reef growth. Unless brightness, current speed and salinity do not match accordingly. The percentage of coral reef cover at point 1 is 22%, point 2 is 14%, point 3 is 26%, point 4 is 26% and point 5 is 40%.Shows the condition of the coral reefs in the waters of Kampung Holtekam in a damaged to moderate condition.

Abstract

Study of shoreline change is an important step in understanding the dynamics in the coastal area in Jayapura City and is a first step to reduce the risk of coastal erosion and also minimize social, physical and economic losses. This research was conducted in the coastal area of Yos Sudarso Bay, Jayapura City, Papua Province by utilizing multi-temporal Landsat satellite imagery (Landsat 5 TM, Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI-TIRS) for 1994, 2000, 2007, 2014 and 2020. Analysis Shoreline changes are determined using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS). End Point Rate (EPR), Net Shoreline Movement (NSM) and Linear Regression Rate (LRR) are used to calculate the rate of change of the coastline and predictions of change of the coastline for the next 10 years. The results showed that in the period 1994-2000 there was an area of 535749.22 m2 of abrasion and 399361.87 m2 of accretion. During the 2000-2007 period, 453,876.10 m2 of abrasion occurred and 447,121.39 m2 of accretion. In the 2007-2014 period there was 781,274.83 m2 of abrasion and 259,221.26 m2 of accretion. In the 20014-2020 period, 93,328.79 m2 of abrasion occurred and 74,204.42 m2 of accretion. Spatially, the coastal areas of Yos Sudarso Bay, Jayapura City, which experienced abrasion included Holtekamp Beach, Hamadi Beach, and a small part in Youtefa Bay, while those that experienced accretion included DOK II Beach, Entrop Beach, Ciberi Beach, in Youtefa Bay and Cape Ria. The shoreline changes rate (LRR) in the coastal area of Yos Sudarso Bay, Jayapura City due to abrasion in the period 1994 to 2020 is 0.89 m/year, while the shoreline change rate due to accretion is 0.70 m/year. Based on the prediction of shoreline changes at Holtekamp Beach, it is predicted that the highest abrasion will occur as far as 50.19 m with an average abrasion distance of 20.22 m, while the highest accretion is as far as 19.19 m with an average accretion distance of 10.55 m.
