Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of perceptions regarding product halal status, price, and Islamic lifestyle on cosmetic purchasing decisions among consumers at the Ranitha Shtuff store in Lhokseumawe City. The study employs a quantitative approach using an associative method. The sample consists of 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via Likert scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS  27 software. The results indicate that perceptions of product halal status, price, and Islamic lifestyle each have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions both individually and simultaneously with Islamic lifestyle emer ging as the most dominant variable. An R-square value of 0.681 demonstrates that the three independent variables explain 68.1% of the variation in purchasing decisions, while the remainder is attributed to variables outside the scope of this study. These findings offer a theoretical contribution to the study of Muslim consumer behavior within the framework of Islamic economics, as well as a practical contribution for cosmetic business operators in understanding consumer preferences in regions governed by Sharia law.

Abstract

The growth of the Islamic finance industry has not been fully matched by an increase in the uptake of Sharia financing products, primarily due to limited public understanding, access, and trust. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic marketing, service quality, and Sharia values on the decision to choose Sharia financing, both directly and through the mediating role of brand image. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed, surveying 300 members of the general public and MSME operators in Banyuwangi Regency who had experience with Sharia financing services. Respondents were selected via purposive sampling; data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that Islamic marketing and brand image have a positive and significant influence on the decision to choose Sharia financing, whereas service quality and Sharia values did not demonstrate a significant direct influence. Brand image mediates the positive effects of Islamic marketing and Sharia values, as well as the negative effect of service quality, on the decision-making process. These findings confirm that an institution's image serves as an evaluative mechanism that translates marketing communications, service experiences, and the application of Sharia principles into financing decisions. Sharia financing institutions need to strengthen their reputations through contract transparency, service consistency, and the substantive application of Sharia values.

Abstract

Intentional sexual intercourse during daytime in Ramadan incurs kaffarah al-jima'i, which requires feeding 60 poor persons when the prescribed conditions are met. This study aims to examine how digital ZISWAF platforms can optimize the collection and distribution of Ramadan expiation within the framework of contemporary Islamic economics. This study employs a qualitative normative method through literature review and content analysis of classical and contemporary fiqh sources, relevant DSN-MUI fatwas, and digital ZISWAF practices implemented by institutions such as BAZNAS and Dompet Dhuafa. The findings indicate that digital platforms can improve the accessibility, traceability, and administrative efficiency of kaffarah payments while supporting broader distribution to eligible beneficiaries. The analysis also shows that a digital payment mechanism, with an estimated cost of approximately IDR 1–2 million per case, can simplify the fulfillment of the feeding requirement for 60 poor persons, provided that the payment is managed according to applicable Islamic legal provisions. These findings imply that digital ZISWAF can strengthen the socioeconomic function of kaffarah by expanding access, improving distribution management, and supporting transparency. The study recommends clearer institutional standards and regulatory guidelines for digital kaffarah management to ensure Sharia compliance and measurable social impact.

Abstract

Islamic banking has been expanding in OIC countries but its systemic stability and contribution to SDGs are not well examined. The study examined the determinants of the stability of Islamic banking focusing on SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 4 (Quality Education) with a dynamic panel data of 44 OIC countries (2015–2025). Endogeneity and country-specific effects are controlled for in the study using the System Generalised Method of Moments (Sys-GMM). The key variables are CAR, FDR and GDP growth, while inflation and bank size are control variables. Z-score and NPF measure stability. The results show that CAR has a significant positive effect on the Z-score (β = 0.231, p < 0.01) and a negative effect on NPF (β = -0.189, p < 0.01), confirming the capital buffer hypothesis. FDR exhibits a non-linear risk-liquidity trade-off, whereas GDP growth always supports stability. Most importantly, the SDGs composite proxy exhibits a strong positive association with stability, which implies that a stronger social development trajectory would offer a conducive environment for sound Islamic financial intermediation. The findings have important policy implications for OIC regulators to align prudential frameworks with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Abstract

This study analyses the influence of religiosity, Islamic financial literacy and peer conformity on the consumer behaviour of Generation Z in the city of Surabaya, with locus of control as the mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach, using data obtained from 260 Generation Z respondents in the city of Surabaya. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that religiosity has no effect on consumer behaviour. Sharia financial literacy has a negative effect on consumer behaviour, whilst peer conformity and locus of control have a positive effect on consumer behaviour. Religiosity and Islamic financial literacy have a positive effect on locus of control, whilst peer conformity has no effect on locus of control. Furthermore, locus of control does not mediate the effects of religiosity, Islamic financial literacy, and peer conformity on consumer behaviour.  The findings of this study indicate that improving Islamic financial literacy should be a priority in helping Generation Z make wiser consumption decisions. The ability to weigh up one’s needs and financial circumstances is also important, particularly when faced with peer pressure. This can be supported through Islamic financial education that encourages Generation Z to be more discerning in setting consumption priorities and to consider their alignment with Islamic principles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity, Islamic financial literacy, and accessibility on the use of Islamic financial products by millennials in Pontianak. This study employs a quantitative approach, involving 100 millennials in Pontianak as respondents. A questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument, while respondents were selected using purposive sampling and analyzed using SEM-PLS with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0. Based on the results, the study found that religiosity has a negative but insignificant effect on the use of Islamic financial products. Conversely, Islamic financial literacy and accessibility have positive and significant effects on the use of Islamic financial products. These findings suggest that the use of Islamic financial products among millennials is more influenced by their ability to understand the principles and mechanisms of these products, as well as the ease of accessing services, rather than by religiosity. Therefore, Islamic financial institutions need to prioritize strengthening financial literacy through education on the characteristics, contracts, benefits, and mechanisms of these products, as well as improving service accessibility—particularly through digital services and the provision of easily understandable information.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Waqf Literacy, Financial Self-Efficacy, Islamic Branding, and Love of Money on Cash Waqf Interest in Generation Z, with Lifestyle as a mediating variable. The potential for cash waqf in Indonesia is enormous, but the level of public participation, especially among Generation Z, is still relatively low. Therefore, an understanding of the factors that may influence Generation Z's interest in cash waqf is necessary. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using the SEM-PLS method using SmartPLS. The results showed that Waqf Literacy, Financial Self-Efficacy, and Islamic Branding have a positive and significant effect on Cash Waqf Interest. Meanwhile, Love of Money did not significantly influence Cash Waqf Intention. In the indirect effect test, Lifestyle was shown to mediate the influence of Waqf Literacy and Love of Money on Cash Waqf Intention. However, Lifestyle was unable to mediate the influence of Financial Self-Efficacy and Islamic Branding on Cash Waqf Intention. The findings of this study indicate that Waqf Literacy is the most dominant factor in increasing Cash Waqf Intention among Generation Z.
