Bercadik: Jurnal Pengkajian dan Penciptaan Seni adalah publikasi ilmiah akses terbuka multidisiplin, yang diterbitkan oleh Program Pasca Sarjana Institut Seni Indonesia Padangpanjang, bekerja sama dengan Lembaga Penelitian Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat dan Pengembangan Pendidikan (LPPMPP) ISI Padangpanjang. Bercadik: Jurnal Pengkajian dan Penciptaan Seni, terbit 2 kali dalam setahun (pada bulan April dan Oktober) memuat artikel hasil penelitian, kajian, pemikiran, ataupun hasil penciptaan di bidang seni, baik seni rupa, seni pertunjukan, desain, kriya, maupun seni media rekam. Bercadik: Jurnal Pengkajian dan Penciptaan Seni juga terbuka bagi artikel dari bidang lain yang relevan, antara lain dari bidang budaya, filsafat, pendidikan seni, sastra dan humanitas secara umum, sebagai bentuk komiten pada interdisiplinaritas. Topik-topik dari bidang antropologi, sosiologi, studi kebijakan, sejarah, serta studi tata kelola, yang berhubungan dengan bidang seni secara khusus maupun dengan budaya dan kebudayaan secara umum, juga menjadi topik yang diundang untuk dimuat pada jurnal ini. Bercadik: Jurnal Pengkajian dan Penciptaan Seni, terbit secara daring mulai tahun 2021, setelah sebelumnya terbit dalam versi cetak pada rentang 2013-2017.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Karya komposisi musik “ Batampek”  merupakan musik yang terinspirasi dari sebuah pepatah minangkabau nan buto paambuih lasuang, nan pakak palapeh badia, nan lumpuah paunyi rumah, nan kuaik pambao baban, nan binguan disuruah-suruah, nan cadiak lawan barundiang. pepatah tentang penggambaran seorang pemimpin yang bijaksana yang bisa memanfaatkan sesuatu dan menempatkan sesuatu pada tempatnya. Abstract

ABSTRACT The title of this final project is “Designing the Branding of Songket Silungkang.” The purpose of the designing is to get identity which is always remembered so that it changes the behavior of targeted audience. Even though the city government has managed and organized the weavers, the songket weavers in the outside of Silungkang area also want to create the songket name according to the names of their areas. Therefore in the design of this songket Silungkang branding, it is highlighted through verbal and visual messages which are effective and efficient.The media of its design was the logo along with its description. The application of this media was in the forms of poster, x-banner, banner, flag-change, bumper logo, pin, sticker, key chain, postcard, billboard, brochure and facebook cover. Abstract

ABSTRACT Canang is an oral naming for the tradition of wording implementation in the society of Kuantan Singingi district, Riau province. Canang has unique characteristics in its implementation namely: always presenting calempong sound with certain rhythm patterns before the content of the message is delivered by tukang canang based on its whole implementation procedure and message content, the authors intertwine several small parts in order to materialize them into a musical work. Those parts are communication and tuah. The creation of this work was started by conducting identification toward the characteristics of procedures and benefits of canang implementation. The composition of several musical elements such as harmony, tempo, dynamics, and so on was interpreted into communication and tuah in the form of programa music. Keywords: Canang, Communication, Tuah

Abstract

ABSTRACT War is an act of violence involving physical and non-physical action, in other words, it’s a state of hostility between two or more groups of people. The development of human thoughts also has role in the development of weaponry technology. This raises the question of why humans utilize their intelligence and development to invent the destroying and killing instruments. On the contrary, the man himself utterly demands peace.In this creation, war served as a stimulus and observed object that inspired the creation. In order to feel the fright of war, deep exploration of numerous actual sources such as news observations and viewing in-the-middle-of-the-battlefield video were done. From the observation of various objects, certain feelings were obtained and then turned into the subject matter of mental form of creation that’s expressed through the medium of printmaking. The idea of the creation adopted the shape of buffalo’s horn as a result of reinterpretation toward reality. Distortion and visual stylization were later executed to obtain new visualization. Technically, the process of this work adopted conventional graphic arts/printmaking techniques such as relief printing technique (high printing) combined with serigraphy technique (screen printing). Keywords: war, subject matter, printmaking

Abstract

Abstrak Tari Rentak Bulian merupakan persofikasi dari upacara Bulean yang terdapat di Suku Talang Mamak Provinsi Riau, yang dilatar belakangi oleh sistem kehidupan masyarakat yang mempunyai kepercayaan terhadap kekuatan-kekuatan gaib. Upacara Bulean merupakan jenis upacara pengobatan sebagai solusi dalam mengobati suatu penyakit dengan mempergunakan kekuatan batin dalam mendekatkan diri kepada makhluk gaib, guna kesembuhan orang yang sakit. Kehadiran upacara Bulean menimbulkan inspirasi seorang seniman untuk mentransformasikan upacara Bulean kebentuk seni pertunjukan yaitu seni tari yang dinamakan tari Rentak Bulian. Tarian tersebut menggambarkan bagaimana cara pengobatan yang dilakukan masyarakat Talang Mamak untuk menyembuhkan penyakit melalui upacara Bulean. Dalam hal ini walau pun upacara Bulean telah mengalami alih rupa, baik dari segi bentuk, fungsi dan makna, telah berubah dari bentuk sakral ke profan, namun dalam konteks pertunjukannya tidak dapat mengabaikan persayaratan ritual yang harus dipenuhi.Kata Kunci: Upacara Belian, Rentak Bulian, Melayu, Masyarakat Talang Mamak

Abstract

ABSTRAK Raja Pamusuk Mandailing merupakan sebutan bagi seorang kepala adat (raja), yang pemimpin masyarakat adat di wilayah Mandailing Sumatera Utara. Di samping raja di wilayah ini juga ada jabatan yang disebut dengan Ketua Dewan Negeri dan Ketua Kampung yang khusus dalam bidang pemerintahan saja.  Sementara itu Raja Pamusuk beserta keturunannya sampai sekarang masih tetap diakui masyarakat sebagai pemimpin adat maupun dalam kegiatan yang berhubungan dengan pelaksanaan adat istiadat seperti upacara dan sebagainya.  Dalam masyarakat Mandailing, Raja Pamusuk disimbolkan dengan pohon beringin yang memaknakan sebagai pengayom atau melindungi masyarakat di bawahnya. Tulisan ini membahas keberadaan Raja Pamusuk Mandailing dalam hal kehidupan masyarakat Mandailing meliputi rumah adat, dan hubungan kekeluargaan.  Pembahasan lebih bersifat deskriptif yang diharapkan paling tidak dapat memberi gambaran tentang keberadaan Raja Pamusuk Mandailing.  Kata kunci: Raja Pamusuk Mandailing  ABSTRACT As the chief (king) custom, he is the leader of the indigenous peoples in the region. Authority board chairman and chairman of the village's land is specialized in the field of government, while the indigenous affairs retained and carried out by those who are entitled according to the customs of indigenous peoples concerned. That is why to this day remains traditional ceremonies led by the king of custom pamusuk.menurut. Chairman of the country has never been recognized as a king sitting Mandailaing community customs. King and his descendants to this day still recognized as king of indigenous peoples in traditional ceremonies, and they called the king of custom. Abstract

Kompang lives together with Malay Bengkalis people that majority of them are Muslims. Kompang as an art is present in the celebration of cultural events and it becomes the part of Malay Bengkalis people’s cultural processions. In this writing, it is discussed the social interaction and Kompang existence in the people of Dusun Delik as the area of Kompang art development. This research step used the qualitative method, with the approaches of anthropology, sociology, and ethnomusicology. The technique of data collection was conducted by doing observation, interview, and documentation. Those data were triangulated and coupled into sentences together with researcher’s observation and interpretation. Research result is the existence of a reciprocal relationship and social interaction in its society. In one side, Kompang has a role in its people condition; on the other side, Kompang lives and develops together with its people’s participation. Kompang in its social form is about humans’ relations in their societal group, while its spiritual form is praises and shalawat and salam sung together with the rhythm of jawab (tamsilam) and hadi (berzanji) lyrics.Keywords: Kompang Art, Social Interaction, Dusun Delik People

Abstract

ABSTRACT Musical work called Bulean, an Orchestra Music Composition, is a descriptive programa music. It is inspired by phenomenon occurred on healing ceremony of Talang Mamak tribe in Indragiri Hulu District, Riau. This creation aims at making a programa music that’s able to express phenomenon occurred on Bulean ceremony by using the approach of Western music convention in Orchestra format. Abstract

ABSTRACT Minangkabau culture is one of the oldest cultures in Indonesia. Minangkabau has rules that organize its people called as custom. Custom in Minangkabau is custom that philosophizes to nature because, in Minangkabau, existing customs can be altered such as nature that is always dynamic. However, there are certain parts of Minangkabau that cannot be altered. Minangkabau culture is an interesting culture to become the background of the story in the film. One of the films using Minangkabau as the background of its story is the film “Di Bawah Lindungan Ka’bah.” The film “Di Bawah Lindungan Ka’bah” is a film adapted from a novel with the same title. When watching a film, viewers will be presented pictures related to setting; acting and actors’ movement; costume and make-up, and lighting. Those four things are elements found in mise-en-scene. Mise en scene in a film determines many things such as viewers’ understanding of story delivered in the film. The mise en scene of the film “Di Bawah Lindungan Ka’bah” uses many Minangkabau elements such as rumah gadang, baju kuruang basiba (= basiba long dress), and surau. However, not all of those Minangkabau elements are accordingly suitable to describe Minangkabau culture in this film. Keywords: Minangkabau, Film, Di Bawah Lindungan Ka’bah, Mise-en-scene

Abstract

ABSTRAKUpacara Horja godang  merupakan upacara adat perkawinan pada etnik Mandailing, dilaksanakan setelah seminggu acara akad nikah. Upacara Horja Godang dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat keturunan raja-raja di Kecamatan Kotanopan yang mayoritas penduduknya adalah etnik Mandailing. Metode yang dipakai untuk menyelesaikan penelitian adalah menggunakan teknik kualitatif untuk menghasilkan data secara deksriptif, dengan menggabungkan pendekatan musikologi, etnomusikologi, antropologi, sosiologi, dan sejarah. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengungkap keterkaitan musik Gordang Sambilan dengan upacara  Horja Godang, mengkaji fungsi musik Gordang sambilan dalam upacara Horja godang pada masyarakat Mandailing Natal Kotanopan. Hasil penelitian, tradisi upacara Horja Godang berlangsung selama tiga hari, lima hari, atau satu minggu, dan disesuaikan dengan ketentuan adat. Pada upacara Horja Godang ditampilkan Gordang Sambilan sebagai musik pendukung upacara. Secara turun-temurun masyarakat Kotanopan berpendapat bahwa musik Gordang Sambilan merupakan musik adat dan Gordang Sambilan diyakini sebagai alat musik milik raja-raja mereka secaran turun temurun. Fungsi musik Gordang Sambilan sangatlah menentukan pada rangkaian upacara Horja Godang. Fungsi musik tersebut meliputi: fungsi ekspresi emosi; fungsi hiburan; fungsi representasi simbolis; fungsi komunikasi,; dan fungsi identitas etnik. Kata Kunci: Upacara, Horja Gordang, Gordang Sembilan, Mandaliling Natal
