Abstract

The determination of the Qibla direction today commonly relies on solar-based instruments such as the theodolite, which provides high measurement accuracy. However, these tools face limitations under unfavorable weather conditions when sunlight is unavailable. This study aims to develop an alternative Qibla direction measurement method using the daily positions of star constellations with a device called the Qibla Laser. The research adopts a research and development approach, combining observation, experimentation, and evaluation, grounded in Islamic astronomy (ilmu falak). Data were collected through participatory observation and field experiments using the Qibla Laser as primary data, while secondary data were obtained from relevant literature and documents concerning raṣdu al-qiblah. A descriptive analysis was used to explain the astronomical and mathematical basis of the tool, while a comparative analysis was applied to assess its accuracy against contemporary calculations and Ephemeris data. The findings indicate two main results: first, the Qibla Laser is a viable alternative for determining the Qibla direction when solar-based tools are unusable; second, it offers high accuracy as it targets the star’s center point rather than relying on light reflection like sunlight. This innovation contributes to the advancement of practical and precise astronomical instruments for Qibla determination.

Abstract

This study examines the validity of electronic signatures (e-signatures) and the challenges in proving their authenticity in civil contracts in Indonesia. Based on an analysis of Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE) as amended by Law No. 19 of 2016, as well as Government Regulation No. 71 of 2019, e-signatures have the same legal force as conventional signatures if certain requirements are met, particularly regarding identity authentication, information integrity, and non-repudiation. The findings reveal different approaches in practice: the formalist view emphasizes official certification, the flexible view accepts uncertified e-signatures as long as their authenticity can be proven, and the protective view restricts their use to high-value transactions. An analysis of several court decisions shows patterns in the acceptance of e-signatures: (1) certified e-signatures tend to be fully accepted, (2) uncertified e-signatures are accepted to a limited extent if supported by technical evidence such as server logs and expert testimony, and (3) there are still weaknesses in regulations, infrastructure, and the legal apparatus’s understanding of e-signature technology. Proof-related risks include document security vulnerabilities, difficulties in accessing log data, and a lack of technological literacy among legal practitioners. Abstract

In the digital era, faith-based educational institutions face significant challenges in adapting to technological advancements to enhance governance and educational quality. Although digital transformation has become increasingly vital in the educational landscape, the digital divide remains a major concern, particularly among madrasahs and pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools) in Indonesia.This study explores the role of digital technology in improving the efficiency of governance and operations within faith-based educational institutions. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, and the analysis of official documents and academic literature.The findings indicate that the implementation of digital systems such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), cloud-based platforms, and financial information systems has significantly enhanced transparency, accountability, and academic monitoring. Nevertheless, several obstacles persist, including limited digital infrastructure in rural areas and low digital literacy among educators. This study highlights the importance of strategic interventions, including regulatory support, capacity-building programs, and infrastructure development, to ensure equitable access and sustainable implementation of digital technologies. The integration of digital technology not only streamlines administrative functions but also enriches interactive learning experiences and strengthens relationships between educators and learners.Effective digital transformation can serve as a catalyst for building more collaborative, transparent, and accountable faith-based education systems, while contributing to broader educational reform in Indonesia and similar contexts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Makna Simbolik Tradisi Tolak Bala Sedekah Petang Jum’at pada Masyarakat Islam di Sungai Pinang Kabupaten Musi Rawas.” Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis makna simbolik yang terdapat dalam tradisi sedekah petang Jum’at sebagai bentuk tolak bala di Desa Sungai Pinang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjelaskan tata cara pelaksanaan tradisi tersebut serta mengungkap makna simbolik yang dipercaya masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan kepala desa, tokoh agama, dan masyarakat berjumlah 20 orang, observasi terhadap proses pelaksanaan sedekah petang Jum’at, serta dokumentasi kegiatan terkait. Analisis data dilakukan melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan keabsahan data diperkuat dengan triangulasi waktu, sumber, dan metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi ini dilaksanakan sekitar pukul 14.30 WIB di rumah warga yang menjadi tempat penyelenggaraan. Seluruh masyarakat ikut serta dengan membaca Surah Yasin dan doa bersama. Hidangan seperti nasi tumpeng, wajik ketan, nasi punjung ayam kampung, bobonos, dan makanan lainnya dijadikan simbol sedekah. Masyarakat meyakini tradisi ini membawa keberkahan dan keselamatan bagi keluarga pelaksana serta masyarakat Desa Sungai Pinang secara umum.

Abstract

Active learning strategy is a learning method that encourages students to be actively involved in the teaching and learning process, so that they can more easily understand and remember the material more effectively. This study aims to identify active learning strategies that are efficient in improving students' understanding, especially in the subject of Fiqh for class XI at MAN 4 Kediri. This active learning strategy has proven to be more effective because it encourages students to participate directly, increases motivation, and encourages collaboration. In addition, this method can reduce boredom caused by monotonous lecture methods, so that students become more active, creative, and innovative. Thus, educators can consider implementing active learning strategies to improve students' understanding in the subject of Fiqh

Abstract

Menentukan awal bulan Kamariah seringkali terjadi perbedaan pendapat dalam penetapannya, khususnya bulan Ramadhan, Syawal dan Zulhijah. Hal ini sewaktu-waktu bisa menyulut pertikaian diantara umat Islam khususnya di Indonesia. Penentuan awal bulan (New Moon) itu ditandai dengan munculnya hilal yaitu bulan sabit pertama kali setelah terjadinya kongjungsi atau ijtima’. Dalam penetapan tersebut terdapat dua metode yang sering digunakan, diantaranya metode hisab dan metode rukyat. Dimana metode hisab dimaknai dengan menghitung kemunculan hilal sedangkan metode rukyat dimaknai sebagai kegiatan mengamati visibilitas hilal, yaitu penampakan bulan sabit yang tampak pertama kali setelah terjadinya ijtimak. Namun dalam perjalannya untuk bisa mengamati visibilitas hilal maka ditetapkanlah imkanur rukyat yaitu kemungkinan hilal bisa terlihat. Banyak sekali perspektif mengenai kriteria imkanur rukyat baik dari yang bersifat sederhana sampai yang bersifat modern. Untuk yang bersifat sederhana biasanya muncul di era masa lampau yang telah dikaji oleh ulama-ulama klasik, salah satunya imkanur rukyat menurut KH. Muhammad Syuja’i seorang ulama klasik yang merupakan pendiri Pondok Pesantren As-Syuja’i yang mengarang Kitab Khulashah Al-Aqwal fiima Yata'allaqu bish-Shiyami wal Hilaali. Oleh karena itu, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menggali sejarah imkanur rukyat dalam Kitab Khulashah Al-Aqwal fiima Yata'allaqu bish-Shiyami wal Hilaali.

Abstract

This study examines the strengthening of sharia management as an aspect of development in the industrial sector. The industrial sector has seen substantial growth in recent years, in reaction to global demand for products and services compliant with sharia guidelines. Where the process to produce goods starts from processing raw materials, into semi-finished products which are then further processed into finished goods. However, to ensure sustainable growth and face future challenges, effective management from a sharia perspective is essential. This research aims to find out how strengthening sharia management can function as a development in the industrial sector. Qualitative methods were chosen to gather information from a variety of sources, such as literature reviews, interviews with industry experts, and analysis of company documents. Then, the information is analyzed using relevant qualitative analysis methods. The findings of the study show that strengthening sharia management can provide significant benefits in business development in the industrial sector. In conclusion, strengthening sharia management as a strategy for industrial business development is able to create long-term added value for the company, increase customer reputation and trust, and encourage substantial growth. Therefore, the advice for practitioners and decision-makers in the industry is to prioritize the effective implementation of sharia management in their business strategies, paying attention to aspects of ethics, quality, and innovation that are in line with sharia principles. Abstract

Digitalization brings changes in childcare, especially media and technology sources, as more and more parents allow their children to be stimulated by the presence of a shared position with the adopted position of children at various moral, social, and spiritual levels. This is a form of legal neglect of the executive parent and in the perspective of Islamic law is defined in terms of the mandate of care (ḥaḍānah). The purpose of this study is to express and detail the same problem, as well as convey information and scientific issues and opinions regarding the position of the digital world on children in this study using various library research methods and theological-normative, psychological, and sociological approaches and the rules of the Qur'an, hadith, classical books (yellow books) and Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, issued. This is assessed internally and externally. Digital consumption without parental supervision can influence the emergence of deviant behavior leading to vulgarity, online game addiction and disrespect towards parents. From an Islamic perspective, parents not only "own" their children physically, but also their faith, morals, and character. Therefore, minimal parental supervision of children's digital sites and applications can be considered a serious violation of legal custody. Furthermore, this study aims to raise parents' awareness of their potential educational and preventive role in the digital world, based on Islamic values, as a solution. This study is not intended to blame parents, but to reawaken collective awareness that raising children is not only about providing food and shelter, but also about guiding their minds, protecting their morals, and accompanying their souls, even in the virtual world. The digital world can be a blessing, but it can also be a disaster. Everything depends on the extent to which parents are present as teachers, protectors, and role models, both in real life and online. If neglect continues, not only will children's futures be threatened, but also the divine trust entrusted to them. Therefore, this journal invites all readers, especially parents, educators, and policymakers, to collectively return to the essence of Islamic parenting: parenting that is full of values, based on sharia law, and filled with responsible love. Because in this digital age, love alone is not enough; it requires direction, control, and meaningful presence.

Abstract

Islamic educational supervision plays a strategic role in improving the quality and professionalism of educators while integrating Islamic values into the learning process. Etymologically, the term supervision derives from the words super and vision, meaning “to see from above” or “to oversee.” In the context of Islamic education, supervision is understood as a form of service, guidance, and nurturing conducted in a humanistic and Islamic manner to assist teachers in developing competence, character, and effectiveness in teaching and learning. Supervision is not merely focused on administrative control but also emphasizes spiritual and moral aspects through the principle of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil). The urgency of Islamic educational supervision lies in its function as a means of teacher development, enabling educators to adapt to modern challenges without losing their Islamic spirit. Through well-directed supervision, teachers receive guidance, motivation, and feedback to enhance professionalism and teaching quality. Furthermore, supervision serves to maintain the quality of educational institutions so that they remain grounded in the principles of aqidah, sharia, and noble character. Therefore, Islamic educational supervision holds a comprehensive meaning—not only as a control mechanism but also as a medium for nurturing and transforming Islamic values within the education system.

Abstract

Islamic educational supervision is a systematic effort to guide and enhance the professional quality of teachers based on Islamic spiritual and moral values. This study aims to describe the concepts, techniques, and challenges in the implementation of supervision within Islamic education. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature analysis that integrates modern supervision theories with Islamic educational principles. The results indicate that supervision in the Islamic context is not merely a form of control but a process of guidance and mentorship (taujih and tarbiyah) emphasizing the values of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, sincerity, and moral responsibility. Supervision techniques can be conducted individually or in groups, such as classroom observation, interviews, workshops, and peer supervision. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including limited supervisor competence, control-oriented paradigms, and low teacher awareness of the importance of Islamic-based supervision. Therefore, continuous strategies are needed, such as capacity building for supervisors, collaborative approaches, and the use of supervision instruments aligned with Islamic values. Supervision grounded in Islamic principles is expected to develop educators who are professional, morally upright, and committed to improving the overall quality of education sustainably
