Abstract

The importance of implementing an internal control system and the appropriateness of compensation in preventing fraud in hospitals. In the health sector, especially hospitals, fraudulent practices such as asset embezzlement, corruption, and fraudulent financial statements often occur, which are detrimental to the state and society. This study aims to analyze and prove the effect of the implementation of the internal control system and the suitability of compensation on the prevention of fraud by inspectorate examination as an intervening variable at the Eye Hospital of the Regional Public Service Agency of East Kalimantan Province. The research method used is quantitative with primary data sources. The sample of this study is 60 employees of the East Kalimantan Provincial Eye Hospital. Data is collected through questionnaires distributed using Google Forms. The data analysis technique used is the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM). The results showed that the implementation of the internal control system and inspectorate inspection had a positive and significant effect on fraud prevention, while the appropriateness of compensation had no effect on fraud prevention. In addition, the implementation of the internal control system has a significant effect on the prevention of fraud through the inspectorate's inspection, while the appropriateness of compensation has no effect on the prevention of fraud through the inspectorate's inspection. The implications of this study show that hospitals need to strengthen the internal control system and improve the inspection function of the inspectorate to reduce the risk of fraud.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide strengthening of indigenous governance structures based on local wisdom in protecting the territorial rights of Indigenous Peoples. The research method can be grouped into the realm of socio-legal research, namely the type of socio-legal research, so the approach used is the non-doctrinal approach method.  The results show that the strengthening of indigenous government structures based on local wisdom has been implemented in the Republic of Indonesia and has received protection guarantees, but the regulation of the existence of indigenous government structures in strengthening the territorial rights of indigenous peoples has not been answered properly. Recognition of smaller community unit areas cannot only be guaranteed by using policies alone, the existence of indigenous government structures in villages / customary territories / other names is not just formed but is influenced by genelogical-territorial so that regional ties and blood descent structures are very strong. Legal requirements Article 97 Paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Village Law explain that the establishment of an adat village must fulfill the following requirements: the existence of a customary law community unit along with its traditional rights that are actually still alive, whether territorial, genelogical, or functional in nature and the existence of customary government institutions.  The implications of this research suggest that for the effective protection of Indigenous Peoples' territorial rights, a more comprehensive legal and policy framework is needed that recognizes and supports the complex genealogical and territorial structures of customary governance.

Abstract

Philosophy is a discipline that aims to seek truth by exploring answers to fundamental questions. In its endeavors, philosophy interacts with the evolving results of science, including schools such as Neo-Positivism. This research aims to analyze and understand the differences in research paradigms, especially in social science, with a focus on positivism, constructivism, and critical paradigms. In addition, this research also describes the positivism paradigm and its three basic assumptions: ontology, epistemology, and methodology. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The results show that the Neo-Positivism paradigm has a significant influence in the development of science and human civilization. Positivism emphasizes that science is the only valid form of knowledge and only observable facts can be used as objects of study. Thus, positivism rejects the existence of forces beyond facts that can be tested empirically. The implication of this research lies in a deeper understanding of how research paradigms contribute to the formation of scientific theories as well as the application of science in people's lives.

Abstract

Violence experienced by adolescents has an impact on them both in terms of personality and the way they view life. This study aims to find out how the lives of adolescents who experience family violence become meaningful. The research method in the study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling system with data collection methods in the form of in-depth interviews with five participants. The results showed that adolescents who were victims of violence by their parents interpreted life in various ways. They lose trust in others and see life as a struggle for survival. They no longer identify their parents as parental figures. Teenagers see parents as threatening and insecure. Adolescent victims of violence fill their lives with sadness because they do not get affection, and they want freedom from their parents. This study concludes that adolescents who experience violence tend to try hard to survive the hard life they get. The findings of this study underscore the profound impact of family violence on adolescents' perceptions of their lives and interpersonal relationships. Understanding these experiences is critical to developing targeted interventions and support systems aimed at reducing the long-term effects of violence.
