Abstract

In the era of globalization and information technology, the ability to think critically is a very important skill for students to have. This ability is not only useful in an academic context, but also in everyday life to make informed and rational decisions. However, research shows that many students still have difficulty in using critical thinking skills, especially when reading narrative texts. This study aims to identify the difficulties experienced by students in using critical thinking skills when reading narrative texts. In addition, this study also aims to find effective teaching strategies to improve students' critical thinking skills in this context. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The research participants were junior high school students who were selected by purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify the main themes that emerged from the data. The results showed that students experienced several difficulties in using critical thinking skills when reading narrative texts, including difficulties in analyzing characters, understanding the storyline, and identifying key themes. In addition, the study found that the use of teaching strategies involving group discussions and open-ended questions can help improve students' critical thinking skills. The implications of this study show that teachers need to develop more interactive and collaborative teaching strategies to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The government has made efforts to realize prosperity for all Indonesian people, including indigenous Papuans. Local culture plays a key role in shaping consumer preferences, patterns of business behavior, and the use of economic resources, which are important in designing economic development strategies that match the values and needs of local communities. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the dynamics of legal and cultural interactions in supporting local economic growth in Papuan society. The research method uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique involves searching, collecting, and reading various literature sources. Data were analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results show that the interaction between law and culture is crucial in supporting local economic growth in indigenous Papuan communities, with cultural values, traditions and social norms playing an important role in shaping local economic practices. The complexity in the interaction between Papuan customary law and formal state law highlights the challenges and opportunities in achieving harmony between the two to advance local economic growth. This research has implications for the importance of integration between state law and Papuan customary law in efforts to promote sustainable local economic growth. Thus, the resulting policies can be more effective in accommodating local economic interests without overriding existing local wisdom, so as to achieve a balance between economic development and cultural preservation.

Abstract

The implementation of construction work, there are still many problems, namely schedule mismatches, delays, and cost calculations that are sometimes inaccurate because they still use conventional methods. In the Al-Multazam Islamic Boarding School Building Construction project, Kuningan still uses traditional methods, where this method has the potential for human error because in making calculations it can be wrong to enter data which will ultimately change the calculation results to be greater. This research aims to show that the BIM method is very important to be applied in construction projects to streamline work productivity in building construction projects. In this case, there are differences in the results of the calculation of Quantity Take Off on the project, the difference in the results of the analysis shows that there is a difference between the existing volume and the volume of the Quantity Take Off results using the BIM concept, Foot plate foundation work has an average difference of 6.67%, Tie Beam has a difference of 7.62%, Beams have a difference of 5.30%, Columns have a difference of 8.26%, and Floor Plates have an average difference of 2.51%.  This research has implications for the application of BIM to enable a more structured, efficient, and accurate planning and implementation process, thereby reducing the potential for errors caused by human factors. In addition, the use of BIM can also increase efficiency in overall project management, including in schedule monitoring, cost estimation, and resource management, which in turn can increase work productivity on building construction projects.

Abstract

This research aims to design a VFR Corridor that can connect airports located in the province of North Sumatra, especially those airports that do not yet have a VFR Corridor. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). Data was collected using observation, literature study, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the current condition of the VFR Corridor has not connected the eight airports in the North Sumatra region. However, the eight airports can be connected with the new VFR Corridor design consisting of three segments. This design allows VFR aircraft to follow the VFR Corridor path rather than flying direct. In addition, the VFR Corridor design also ensures that the movement of VFR aircraft will not interfere with IFR aircraft following STAR at Kualanamu Airport in Medan and Sisingamangaraja Airport. This study has implications for improving the safety and efficiency of flight operations in the North Sumatra region. With a structured and connected VFR Corridor, VFR aircraft pilots have clearer guidance in air navigation, so the risk of collisions with IFR aircraft can be minimized. In addition, this design also supports the development of aviation infrastructure in North Sumatra, especially in facilitating connectivity between airports that do not yet have a VFR Corridor.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of product development and Promotion on purchase intention, with the role of social media influencers as moderating variables. This research focuses on consumers of TEKIRO brand hand tools products distributed by PT Altama Surya Anugerah (ASA) - Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative, with a Google Forms survey approach. The research sample consisted of 190 respondents who were consumers of TEKIRO hand tools products in 15 major cities in Indonesia. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with the quota method. This data was collected by online and offline questionnaires, which the researchers then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the AMOS version 23 application. The study results indicate that product development has a significant positive effect on purchase intention. The Promotion has no significant effect on purchase intention. Social media influencers strengthen the positive Influence of product development on purchase intention. However, social media influencers do not strengthen the Influence of Promotion on purchase intention. This research implies that companies must prioritize innovative and sustainable product development and can utilize social media influencers who are credible, relevant to the company's business, know the influencer's audience, and have a good reputation to increase consumer purchase intention.

The method used in this research is quantitative. The population in the study were 92 Property and Real Estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2022. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses the classic assumption test and hypothesis testing. The results showed that in property companies on the IDX for the 2018-2022 period, institutional ownership had no significant effect on the structure and cost of Capital. Profitability has a significant negative effect on capital structure and a significant positive effect on the cost of Capital. Liquidity has no significant effect on capital structure, but is significantly negative on the cost of Capital. The cost of Capital has a significant positive effect on capital structure. It can mediate the effect of profitability on capital structure. However, it does not mediate the effect of institutional ownership and Liquidity. This study has implications for corporate financial policy, especially in managing capital structure and cost of Capital. Companies need to pay attention to profitability and liquidity factors in making financial decisions, because both significantly influence the structure and cost of Capital.

Abstract

The photography industry, particularly photo studios, is undergoing a significant transformation due to the development of digital technology and social media. Generation Z, as a digital generation, interacts with photography in unique ways, making brand community, brand experience and customer engagement increasingly relevant for building strong relationships with photo studios. This study aims to determine and analyze Generation Z's loyalty to photo studios, focusing on the mediating role of customer participation behavior and customer citizenship behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationship between latent variables. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to Generation Z consumers in Indonesia. The findings show that brand experience and customer engagement significantly increase customer participation and citizenship behavior, which in turn strengthen customer loyalty. However, brand community does not directly influence citizenship behavior or customer loyalty, highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach in building customer loyalty. These results have important implications for photo studios, indicating that creating positive brand experiences and increasing customer engagement are critical to fostering customer loyalty, especially among Generation Z. Photo studios should focus on improving these areas to build a stronger and more loyal customer base.
