Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of microprudential policies, specifically spin-offs, conversions, and mergers, on Islamic banks in Indonesia, both directly and indirectly through transmission variables, in relation to the growth of the Islamic banking market share. The method used in this study is the dynamic ARDL model, which was chosen for its ability to accommodate data stationarity, cointegration, and short- and long-term relationships. This study utilizes monthly time series data from Bank Umum Syariah (BUS) and Unit Usaha Syariah (UUS) in Indonesia, covering the period from January 2008 to December 2023, resulting in 192 observations for each variable. The data were processed using MS Excel and EViews 10. This research finds that only conversion has a significant direct impact on market share in both the short and long run, while mergers are significant only in the long run, and spin-offs are insignificant in both time frames. As for the transmission variables, DPK and ROA consistently drive market share growth in both the short and long run. NPF is significant only in the long-term simultaneous impact model, where its increase hampers market share growth, whereas FDR is significant only in the short-term simultaneous impact model, where its increase promotes market share. This study incorporates all three microprudential policies—spin-offs, conversions, and mergers—within a single equation model, accompanied by the use of a dynamic model that has not been employed in previous studies. This approach allows for the examination of both short-term and long-term effects.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the "Harmoni Makarti" Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, initiated by Hengjaya Mine, in revitalizing the Pomponangi farmer group through the introduction of sustainable farming practices as a counterbalance to industrial dominance. The research employed a quasi-experimental Difference-in-Differences (DiD) approach to analyze changes in land use, crop diversification, production costs, and farmer income. Data were collected through surveys, soil quality measurements, field observations, and analysis of farmer group records. Statistical analysis, including paired t-tests, was used to measure the program's impact. The intervention yielded significant positive outcomes. The program successfully secured farmland tenure, slowing conversion rates. It reduced average production costs by 21% (Rp 195 per kg) through the adoption of organic fertilizers and pesticides. Crop diversification increased from 4 to 10 types, leading to a 164% surge in average annual farmer income (from Rp 23.55 million to Rp 62.25 million). Furthermore, the establishment of market linkages with a local enterprise (BUMDES) generated an additional Rp 30.35 million in weekly revenue. The program also achieved a high Community Satisfaction Index score of 85.31. The "Harmoni Makarti" program demonstrates that well-designed CSR initiatives can effectively empower local farmer groups, promote sustainable agriculture, and enhance economic resilience in regions dominated by extractive industries. The findings suggest that such a model of corporate-community partnership is replicable and offers a viable strategy for achieving balanced regional development.

Abstract

The rise in the global popularity of Genshin Impact raises concerns about the impact of addiction on player behavior, especially regarding communication patterns. This research focuses on understanding the factors contributing to changes in communication behavior patterns among individuals addicted to the Genshin Impact game. Employing a case study approach and qualitative descriptive research methods, we aim to analyze this phenomenon through in-depth interviews with five Genshin Impact game addicts, ensuring the accuracy of the data collected. The data will be processed using the analytical theory of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, as well as the six addictions theory by Iain Brown. The findings indicate that Genshin Impact game addicts experience a euphoria phase, followed by tolerance and salience, leading to changes in their playing time. Despite the negative impacts, such as excessive playing, there are also positive outcomes, such as increased social connections and additional income. In summary, the changes in deviant behavior patterns among Genshin Impact game addicts have both negative and positive impacts.

Abstract

Reproductive health issues throughout a woman's life cycle are diverse and complex. One common problem faced by women always is vaginal discharge. Vaginal discharge can cause itching, unpleasant odor, pain, and discomfort. This issue must be carefully monitored if it recurs, as it can lead to infertility and cancer. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of green betel leaf decoction on vaginal discharge in adolescent girls at Al-Muhajirin Islamic Boarding School, Purwakarta Regency in 2024. The research design is a plan arranged so the researcher can obtain answers to the research questions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, employing a one-group pretest-posttest format and a paired t-test. The paired t-test is appropriate because there is a single group measured twice, before and after treatment. The average vaginal discharge score in adolescents before administering green betel leaf decoction was 16.86, which decreased to 4.00 after treatment. The Wilcoxon test was used for statistical analysis, resulting in a p-value of 0.000. There was a significant effect before and after administration of green betel leaf decoction in reducing vaginal discharge among adolescent girls at Ma Miftahul Ulum Cikupa-Purwakarta in 2024. Out of 32 respondents, 21 experienced a decrease in vaginal discharge scores.

Abstract

Menopause is experienced by many people who suffer from hypertension, but many ignore it without taking proper treatment. If not treated immediately, complications may occur. To address this, one non-pharmacological alternative is herbal therapy. Celery leaf herbal therapy can reduce the kidneys' function in increasing blood pressure, so it can be used to treat hypertension in menopause. The research aims to determine the effect of the effectiveness of celery leaf (Apium graveolens L) decoction on reducing hypertension in menopause. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest and posttest without a control group. The sample consisted of menopausal women suffering from hypertension, totaling 30 respondents. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, and the measurement tools included questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The results showed that menopausal women who did not consume celery leaf decoction had an average value of 0.47, while those who consumed it had an average value of 0.76. The statistical test used was the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test, which yielded a significance value of P = 0.000 (<0.005), indicating a significant difference between those given and not given celery leaf decoction.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health is an important aspect in shaping a healthy and productive generation, yet many young people face significant challenges due to limited knowledge and access to appropriate health information and services. Research problems identified include high rates of adolescent reproductive health issues such as unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and anemia, particularly in rural areas where access to information and healthcare services remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of adolescent empowerment programs in optimizing reproductive health knowledge, attitudes, and service utilization among adolescents in Sukamandi Village, Sagalaherang District, Subang Regency. The research method used was community-based participatory research (CBPR) involving 50 adolescents aged 13-19 years selected through purposive sampling. Interventions included comprehensive reproductive health training sessions, formation of youth health cadres, peer education programs, and social media-based educational campaigns implemented over a four-month period from February to May 2025. Results showed significant improvements, with reproductive health knowledge increasing by 45% (from baseline mean score of 65.2 to post-intervention score of 94.5), utilization of adolescent health services at the Health Center increasing by 30%, positive attitudes towards healthy living behaviors improving by 40%, and successful establishment of 8 peer education sessions conducted by trained youth cadres. The implications of this research demonstrate that community-based youth empowerment approaches can serve as effective strategies for improving adolescent reproductive health outcomes in rural settings, providing a sustainable model for scaling up similar interventions in comparable communities across Indonesia.

Abstract

The Kampung KB (Family Planning Village) program aims to improve the coverage of family planning (KB) and reproductive health through a community-based approach. Evaluation is needed to determine the extent to which the program is running according to target. To evaluate the implementation of family planning and reproductive health programs in Kampung KB Kalijati District, Subang Regency. Qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document review from 30 informants (family planning cadres, family planning acceptors, community leaders, and health center officers). Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The Kampung KB program has succeeded in increasing the number of active family planning acceptors by 20% in the last 2 years. The main obstacles are the limited number of[A1] extension workers, low male participation, and access to reproductive health services in remote areas. Education and cross-sector support still need to be strengthened. The Kampung KB program in Kalijati District is running quite well, but it requires increased human resource support, continuous education, and equitable access to reproductive health services.

Abstract

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a progressive interstitial lung disease characterized by scarring of lung tissue and limited treatment options, resulting in high morbidity and poor prognosis. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy has emerged as a promising regenerative intervention due to its potential for immunomodulation, epithelial repair, and anti-fibrotic effects. This review synthesizes current clinical and observational studies involving human participants, highlighting the safety and preliminary therapeutic benefits of MSCs in managing PF and related pulmonary conditions. Several clinical trials involving patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and COVID-19-associated lung injury demonstrated favorable safety profiles and trends toward improved pulmonary outcomes. Additionally, observational findings from the application of the Vinski Protocol at Celltech Stem Cell Centre provide further support for the regenerative capabilities of MSCs. While current human studies are encouraging, further large-scale and long-term clinical trials are essential to validate the efficacy of MSC therapy and establish standardized treatment protocols for PF.

Abstract

This replication experiment study examines the asymmetric cost of language code switching in bilingual Javanese-Indonesian and tests the suitability of the cost pattern with the inertial task set hypothesis. Participants consisted of 72 students (49 women, 23 men; aged 20–23 years) who were native Indonesian speakers with Javanese as a second language (L2) or vice versa. The experiment was carried out using a Microsoft Excel-based program to pronounce numbers in both languages. The response records were analyzed to measure the reaction time (in seconds) of the correct responses. Reaction times for incorrect answers were excluded from the analysis. The average reaction time was analyzed using ANOVA and paired sample t-tests with SPSS version 22. The results showed that there was no significant difference in code transfer costs in the transition from L1 to L2 and vice versa, either in the group with the dominant Indonesian language (L1?L2: M = 0.62 s, SD = 0.12; L2?L1: M = 0.62 s, SD = 0.11; t = 0.24, p = 0.98) or Javanese (L1?L2: M = 0.59 s, SD = 0.11; L2?L1: M = 0.59 s, SD = 0.11; t = 1.05, p = 0.3). However, a significant difference was found between mentions with code transfer (M = 0.61 s, SD = 0.11) and without code switching (M = 0.57 s, SD = 0.1; t = 3.88, p = 0.00). These findings do not support the task set inertia hypothesis and indicate balanced bilingual characteristics in the study subjects.
