Abstract

Antibiotic resistance has become a significant public health issue in Indonesia, prompting the search for alternative antimicrobial agents from natural sources. Endophytic fungi symbiotically living inside medicinal plants such as Curcuma zedoaria (temu putih) have the potential to produce bioactive secondary metabolites that could serve as new antibacterial agents. This study aimed to isolate endophytic fungi from the rhizome of temu putih originating from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), evaluate the antibacterial activity of isolates grown on Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB) and Yeast Malt Broth (YMB), and identify as well as elucidate the structure of the secondary metabolite compounds produced. This experimental comparative study involved isolation of endophytic fungi by surface sterilization, culturing on PDB and YMB media, extraction with ethyl acetate, and antibacterial testing against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and Escherichia coli ATCC 8739 using the microdilution method. Metabolite profiling was performed using HPLC-DAD, preparative HPLC for fractionation, LC-HRMS for molecular mass identification, and NMR spectroscopy for structural elucidation. Five endophytic fungal isolates were successfully obtained from the temu putih rhizome. Antibacterial activity was stronger in isolates cultured on PDB compared to YMB. From isolate TP 3 cultured in PDB, several secondary metabolite fractions were isolated, with fraction 4 (F4) containing linoleic acid as the pure compound. F4 demonstrated a Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of 200 µg/mL against S. aureus, comparable to the TP 3 PDB isolate, while against E. coli, F4 showed MIC > 200 µg/mL and TP 3 PDB isolate showed an MIC of 100 µg/mL.

Abstract

The high coal production target of PT Antareja Mahada Makmur at the PT MIFA Bersaudara jobsite demands the availability of optimal heavy equipment units. The Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4845 unit as the main means of transportation experienced a decrease in productivity due to frequent breakdowns in the rear lamps, which interfered with coal getting and coal hauling activities. This study aims to implement improvements to reduce the frequency and duration of breakdowns in the taillights of the DT Arocs 4845 unit. The method used was a direct experiment with several stages of technical intervention: (1) replacement of bulb lamps with more vibration-resistant LED types, (2) modification of lamp brackets with the addition of damper rubber and safety chains, and (3) repair of electrical wiring. Breakdown data before (April 2024) and after the repair (July 2024) were analyzed using Pareto charts and cost calculations. The implementation of the fix successfully eliminated the taillight breakdown incidents altogether. The frequency of breakdowns decreased from 12 times (21.18 hours lost) to 0 times, thus saving potential lost costs of IDR 31,742,518 per month. Integrated solutions for LED light replacement and bracket modification have proven to be very effective and efficient in improving unit reliability. This research provides a proactive maintenance strategy that can be replicated for similar units to support the achievement of production targets.

Abstract

The rapid growth of private vehicles in urban areas has caused various problems such as traffic congestion, increased air pollution, excessive fuel consumption, and decreased quality of life. The urgency of this research lies in the need for strategic solutions to reduce the use of private vehicles in the city center, one of which is through the construction of Park and Ride (PnR) facilities integrated with public transportation. The purpose of this research is to determine the strategic location of PnR facilities in Cirebon City to support a more sustainable urban transportation system. This research uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method involving ten main criteria, including parking lot capacity, supporting facilities, ease of access, transportation integration, intermodal connectivity, and development costs. Data was obtained through expert surveys and secondary data from relevant agencies. The results showed that the alun-alun kejaksan area is the most optimal location for the development of PnR facilities, followed by Kejaksan Station, Prujakan Station, and Harjamukti Terminal. This location is superior in terms of accessibility, land capacity, transportation mode integration, and proximity to community activity centers. These findings are expected to be a reference in planning and policy making for the development of urban transportation systems in Cirebon City.

Abstract

Cirebon is a coastal city rich in cultural heritage, particularly colonial-era buildings documented since the 15th century. Despite this historical wealth, no Regional Regulation specifically governs the management of strategic colonial heritage areas. The absence of such regulation leaves these sites vulnerable to damage from urban development and disasters, especially floods. This study aims to identify the potential of colonial heritage in Lemahwungkuk District for tourism while ensuring resilience to flooding. Using a mixed-methods approach, descriptive statistical analysis was applied through building observation with spider web graphs, combined with flood potential modeling using geospatial analysis to map vulnerability levels. The findings were triangulated with expert interviews. Results revealed that many heritage buildings are located in areas of very high flood risk, influenced by low soil permeability, dense building structures, and proximity to the Kriyan and Sipadu rivers. Observations also showed several buildings in poor condition, abandoned, or heavily damaged, increasing vulnerability. For development into a sustainable tourist area, further studies are required to assess flood and structural risks comprehensively. This should be supported by cross-sectoral coordination and improved drainage infrastructure to protect cultural assets.

Abstract

Poured concrete is made based on the standards applied. A table with a practical plate design is a design table that is easy to use in Iapangan and can be used as a reference material for engineers. The plate in question is a conventional double-sided double-reinforced concrete plate according to SNI 1726:2019, the design is used by Iangsung for the calculation of the Ientur moment, and the results are compared with the results of structural analysis using the ETABS 18 application. The results of the calculation using the direct design method and the existing application show almost the same trend, although the values are not much different. Ms. Excel is used as a tool to calculate plate designs with various styles. The variable parameters are the size of the span, the size of the baIok and koIom, the life load, f' c and f'y. The values obtained are presented in the form of niIai moment Ientur and distance of the Age and presented in the form of a calculation table.

Abstract

This study applies Light’s theory of ecological citizenship which emphasizes three key aspects including responsibility for environmental impact, concern for the well-being of others, and efforts to preserve ecological sustainability. The research aims to examine how ecological citizenship is actualized in the daily lives of riverbank residents and how the local government supports this process. It employs a qualitative case study method with data collected through field observations and interviews involving 32 informants consisting of urban village heads, neighborhood leaders, and residents. Supporting literature and administrative documents were used as secondary sources, and data validation was conducted using triangulation of techniques and sources. The findings show that ecological citizenship in the riverbank areas of North Banjarmasin is reflected in both community participation and government involvement. Residents engage in waste management, voluntary clean-up efforts, and collective sanitation funding, all of which are supported by strong social cohesion. The local government contributes by providing infrastructure, organizing awareness programs, and maintaining sanitation through routine institutional initiatives. To further strengthen ecological citizenship, residents are encouraged to participate in environmental decision-making through public forums and direct communication with authorities. Local governments are advised to facilitate inclusive and informative discussion spaces, use digital platforms to broaden public engagement, and collaborate with universities and community organizations to enhance environmental education. These efforts are essential for fostering a collective sense of ecological responsibility and promoting sustainable practices in riverbank communities.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of relationship marketing and service delivery on customer satisfaction and loyalty within Indonesia’s internet service provider industry, with customer engagement behaviour examined as a moderating variable. Given the growing competition in the internet service provider market, especially following the entry of satellite-based providers like Starlink, understanding factors that drive customer retention has become increasingly critical. Data were collected through a structured survey targeting students with extensive internet use, and analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. The findings reveal that both relationship marketing and service delivery significantly contribute to customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. Notably, customer engagement behaviour was found to moderate these relationships variably, enhancing the positive impact of service delivery on satisfaction but, in some cases, diminishing the effect of relationship marketing on loyalty. These results underscore the need for internet service providers to balance engagement strategies carefully and prioritize reliable, high quality service delivery to foster customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty. The study’s theoretical contributions extend the understanding of relationship marketing and customer engagement, while practical implications highlight strategies for internet service providers to remain competitive in Indonesia’s dynamic market.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a guided inquiry-based module integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) to improve cognitive learning outcomes and science process skills of tenth-grade high school students on the topic of biological technology innovation. The study adopts the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. At the analysis stage, needs assessment was conducted through interviews, observations, and questionnaires to identify learning problems and student difficulties in understanding complex and abstract biotechnology concepts. The design and development stages involved creating an AR-based guided inquiry module that combined interactive visualizations, guided inquiry activities, and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-oriented exercises. The product was validated by material experts, media experts, and learning experts to ensure content accuracy, media feasibility, and instructional appropriateness. Implementation was carried out using a quasi-experimental design with control and experimental groups, where pre-tests and post-tests were administered to measure learning gains. The evaluation stage included formative evaluation during development and summative evaluation after implementation. The findings indicate that the AR-based guided inquiry module is feasible, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ cognitive achievement and science process skills, while also fostering higher engagement and motivation in learning biology.

Abstract

This study seeks to assess the strengths and limitations of the automated scoring system and the traditional scoring method in writing and speaking tasks among English Language Learners attending four secondary schools in Ankpa Local Government, Kogi State, Nigeria. The study employed a mixed methods approach, maximizing quantitative tests for scoring accuracy, reliability, and consistency, while the qualitative approach was used to gather data for feedback quality and learner perception. The results reveal that automated systems excel in technical accuracy and consistency, achieving high reliability for grammar and syntax tasks, with Cronbach's Alpha = 0.94, but tend to perform low on higher-order constructs assessment-as for creativity and coherence, r = 0.52-which remains a strong point of the teacher assessment. Feedback by a teacher had strengths in its depth and personal touch; however, this was subjected to subjectivity and required considerable amounts of time. The research does call for an assessment model in a hybrid avatar-automated system scalability with nuanced, motivational feedback from a teacher. Included recommendations are professional training for educators, ethical policies to guide the implementation of technologies within schools, and algorithm improvement guidelines for developers. This paper contributes to the discourse on equitable and effective assessment practices, emphasizing a balance of technological innovation with human expertise in education.

Abstract

People with disabilities who have physical, mental, and emotional limitations often face discrimination and negative perceptions, resulting in unequal political participation and disparities between them and other members of society. The objectives of this article are 1) to describe the important role of inclusive political education for people with disabilities in achieving equal political participation and 2 ) to analyze the various challenges and obstacles in inclusive political education for people with disabilities in achieving equal political participation. The method used is a literature review, with data sources including books, journals, and supporting websites. Inclusive political education is in line with the diversity of Indonesian society, especially for persons with disabilities as a marginalized group. Inclusive political education will ensure that everyone has equal opportunities without discrimination by any group, including persons with disabilities. Several aspects that need to be considered in inclusive political education for people with disabilities include detailed and interactive modules, interesting and accessible methods, adequate facilities and infrastructure, experience-based learning, extensive and regular discussion forums, and cross-sector collaboration. High political participation among people with disabilities will ensure their equal status with other members of society.
