Abstract

The purpose of this study is that it is easy for students to write an exposition text through the inquiry learning model. The researcher applies an inquiry learning model that is applied to class VIIG students of SMP Negeri 2 Taman Sidoarjo. The research uses the application of a learning model, namely the application of inquiry. This learning model helps students to solve problems in groups in order to foster a sense of kinship and cooperation. Learning to write exposition texts was chosen as the study material because the students' ability to write exposition texts has not been achieved. This is based on learning outcomes that have not reached the expected KKM. From the initial observations, it was obtained that the pretest (before the inquiry model was applied) was 27.8% or 10 students who could compose the exposition text well or scored above the KKM and the posttest results (after the inquiry model was applied) 22.3% or 8 students had not. reach KKM. This research is a descriptive quantitative research in its implementation through two cycles, namely pretest and posttest. The pretest was carried out without using a learning model and the posttest was carried out with a learning model. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were class VIIG students of SMP Negeri 2 Taman Sidoarjo. The data collection of this research was carried out by observing the teacher and students to find out the activities of the teacher and students during the learning process, the students' writing learning outcomes to determine the improvement of learning outcomes.

Abstract

The subject of this research was the seventh grade students 2014/2015 academic year. The number of participants in this research was 36 students, there are 16 boy students and 20 girl students. In completing the research, the researcher used the observation,teacher and students activity, written test and field note as the instruments of collecting the data. The result of this research on pre-cycle or first reading skill comprehension condition of students acquire three students can be done with 8,32% on the class that consist 50,05. On the second cycle in the teacher activity was 83,3%; and students activity was showed 85,4%; the result test of students reading skill comprehension was 27,78% and the average was 74,78. The second cycle result was 16,7% which is higher than first cycle. In the teaching activity that shows has improved about 6,96% to 92,36%; the result of reading skill comprehension test based on SKL was 94,44% improve about 66,66%. In other hand, the average of study reading skill comprehension higher than before was 9,41% improve to 84,19. This research was improving students reading skill of Junior High School 3 Waru. Through reading comprehension, students were indirectly recognize and memorize learning material.

Abstract

Politeness is ethics in public communication, of course, having regard to the choice of words is good and right and need to know with whom and where to communicate. The researchers used a qualitative approach because this research itself aims to menjelasan and describe the use of the principle of cooperation that appear in the interaction between students and teachers in Junior High School 2 Krian. The primary data obtained directly through field surveys using all the original data collection methods. Secondary data were obtained from the data collection agencies that publish the data to the user community. This research data is speech or units of conversation between students and teachers in the Junior High School 2 Krian. Sources of data in the study is the subject of where the data can be obtained (Arikunto, 2010: 172). Source of data that students and teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Krian. Based on the findings of the data analysis of the data and found some maxims of cooperation in the interaction between students and teachers in Junior High School 2 Krian. Maksim this cooperation is based on the opinion of Grice consisting of four maxims. The maxim is a maxim (1) Quantity; (2) Quality; (3) Relevance; (4) ways or execution.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the use of languageis polite to the people who have an important role for Indonesia it is very important due to the smoothness and harmony and to establish intimacy between the narrator and the opponent. The formulation of the problem in this research is "How politeness between Hatta Rajasa and Jusuf Kalla on TV One in the candidate Vice President debate period2014-2019 based on the approach of Brown and Levinson? ". The aim or the purpose is to describe the linguistic politeness Hatta Rajasa and Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the debate vice president debate on TV One based approach Brown and Levinson. This study used a qualitative approach. The data in this study were obtained from the candidate Vice President debate sentences containing linguistic politeness strategies according to Brown and Levinson. Source of data in this study, candidate vice president debate. Data collection techniques in this research that usesrefer methods, tapping techniques, and use advanced techniques is (SBLC). Based on the findings and the discussion has been described in chapter IV, it can be concluded that politeness strategies according to Brown and Levinson include (1) Bald-on Strategy (Without Strategy), (2) Positive Politeness Strategy (familiarity), ( 3) Negative Politeness Strategy (Formalities), and (4) Off-record Politeness Strategy (Strategy of indirect or fuzzy.

Abstract

SMS (Short Message Service is one of the written discourse form which is developing now. SMS (Short Message Service) is short message in text form which is on the cell phones media. Now, SMS is not Short Message Service anymore, but it has turned into Smile Message Service because SMS which is currently available now not only contains short message that is used to convey information but also as a means to convey humor ideas among the users. Therefore, now the SMS may be called as a form of humor discourse. Ketawa.com is one of the media on the internet that contains various kinds of humor SMS, in the form of words, sentences and discourse containing ideas of humor. The researchers used a qualitative methodology for generating descriptive data about the form and function of WSH on ketawa.com. The data was WSH in the form of words, sentences and discourse on ketawa.com edition June, 20th 2014 and the data source was ketawa.com. Data collection techniques which was used was a method of documentation by means of documenting data WSH on ketawa.com edition June, 20th 2014 by means copied into Microsoft Word document on the computer first, and then transferred to the thumb drive (USB). The results of data analysis in this research was discourse’s form of humor SMS on ketawa.com consists of forms of narrative discourse, expository discourse, hortatory discourse, exposition discourse, description discourse and the discourse of the puzzle. The most dominant of WSH form was discourse’e form of hortatory and descriptive. The function of humor SMS discourse on ketawa.com consisted of a function as a means of entertainment, education, social protest and as a media to edify or morals. The most dominant function of WSH was as a means of entertainment.

Abstract

The aspects of moral and social values are also many contained in any reggae song lyrics. Reggae song lyrics have a message about the behaviors of society and always uphold high human values. Because breath laden reggae lyrics that contain the struggle and the liberation of the weak from the authorities. Reggae music, the appellation of the rastaman, has become a new form of subculture in this country, where the young people determine and classifies themselves. Just how social observers and the members of the community to understand with the culture that they choose in order to avoid misrepresentation harmful to them. Data used in the study is the aspect of moral and social values. The sources of data are from the lyrics of the song sung by Den reggae Basito, books, internet, and Rastafaria group. Data collection technique in this study is transcription technique transform of oral into written data. While the methods used to analyze the data in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Based on the result of analysis the lyrics song sung by den Basito, in this study explained that every reggae song sung by Den Basito also has the meaning contained. In any lyrics, Den Basito tries to convey moral and social values in society today. Political world also become inspiration of making the lyric song. Den Basito wants to convey the natural beauty that we have if we respect for each other. In the lyrics, contain many meanings such as loyalty, religion, morality, politics, knowledge, beauty, and social value.

Abstract

The language style or known the Figure of Speech is an expression of feelings that have deep meaning for others. This research was conducted to look at the style of the language in the lyrics of popular songs by Syahrini. The analuses covered were stylistic repetition, alliteration, assonance, parallelism, “Simploke”, and redundancy. Analysis methods of this research used descriptive qualitative method. Based on the analysis of the lyrics of a popular song Syahrini explained that the style of repetitipn languange is a classification of words in a few times to amplify the pressure. We can see the lyrics of the songs, entitled: My Lovely, Aku Tak Biasa, Bohong, Kau Yang Memilih Aku, Semua Karena Cinta, Sesuatu, Cinta Tapi Gengsi, Pusing Setengah Mati, Aku Tak Biasa (Cover Alda) dan Kau Cetarkan Hatiku. While the other songs on the album are Tatapan Cinta, Kau Sengaja, Kau Sengaja, Sang Pencipta, Tak Terganti, Aku Pergi, Tak Memilih, Memilih Aku, Kau Bohong, Taubatlah Taubat, Ya Robbi, Cinta Terakhir, dan Jangan Memilih Aku. In the alliteration style is a kind of language style that is concrete use of the word tahat have teh begining of the same consonant. Analysis of language style of the lyrics songs by Syahrini is titled Kau Yang Memilih Aku, Sesuatu, Pusing Setengah Mati, dan Aku Tak Biasa (Cover Alda). Whereas in the others Syahrini song lyrics are entitled: Tatapan Cinta, Habislah Sudah, Sang Pencipta, Tak Terganti, Tak Memilih, Melewati Batas, Kau Bohong, Taubatlah Taubat, Ya Robbi, dan Jangan Memilih Aku. In stylistic assonance of vocal style is similar in the wording. In Syahrini song lyrics have stylistic analysis of a popular song titled: My Lovely, Aku Tak Biasa, Kau Yang Memilih Aku, Semua Karena Cinta, Sesuatu, Cinta Tapi Gengsi, dan Aku Tak Biasa (Cover Alda). According to other Syahrini song lyrics titled: Habislah Sudah, Sang Pencipta, Tak Terganti, Tak Memilih, Memilih Aku, Taubatlah Taubat, Cinta Terakhir, Suasana Dikota Santri. In the parallelism style is a confirmation of language pronunciation used to clarify a statement as the seriousness. In the Syahrini song lyrics have stylistic analysis of a popular song titled: Aku Tak Biasa, Bohong. “Simploke” is repeated word in the sentence at the beginning or end of the line or continued sentences. In the Syahrini song lyrics have stylistic analysis of a popular song titled: My Lovely, Aku Tak Biasa, Bohong, Kau Yang Memilih Aku, Semua Karena Cinta, Sesuatu, Cinta Tapi Gengsi, Pusing Setengah Mati, Aku Tak Biasa (Cover Alda), dan Kau Cetarkan Hatiku. While the lyrics of other songs titled: Kau Sengaja, Habislah Sudah, Tak Terganti, Aku Pergi, Melewati Batas, Memilih Aku, Kau Bohong, Taubatlah Taubat, Cinta Terakhir, Jangan Memilih Aku, dan Suasana Dikota Santri. Pleonasme is an excessive use of the word re-added the next sentence with a view to better of the meaning of the lyrics in a song. In the Syahrini song lyrics have stylistic analysis of a popular song entitled Bohong.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai religius (akhlak, akidah, Syariah) Tokoh Saritem Dan Sukirman yang terdapat dalam novel Kelir Slindet Kedung Darma Romansha karya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis data. Penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk memperoleh gambaran empiris tentang religiositas dalam novel. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode closereading yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik membaca dan mencatat langkah-langkahnya. dan sebagai objek penelitian adalah novel Kelir Slindet. Hasil penelitian penulis menyimpulkan bahwa nilai-nilai novel religi Slindet Kelir Kedung karya Darma Romansha meliputi Nilai pendidikan agama Islam berupa akhlak, aqidah dan syariah.: Nilai akhlak tercela meliputi Nelembuuk, judi, minum, Nilai syariah meliputi shalat , doa, pertobatan. Nilai akidah meliputi, keimanan kepada Tuhan; iman pada malaikat; iman dalam buku; dan iman Rasul.

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Nilai Sufistik dalam Album SurgaMu Karya Ungu” ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai sufistik dalam album SurgaMu karya Ungu terkait dengan syauq, mahabbah, Tarkussyahwat, Muhasabatun Nafs dan At-Taubat. Melalui teori tasawwuf dan menjadikan album SurgaMu sebagai sumber datanya. Dalam album SurgaMu, yang merupakan salah satu bentuk syair ini mengandung banyak nilai sufistik pada lirik lagu-lagunya. Di antaranya yaitu Kerinduan terhadap Tuhan (Syauq), Cinta kepada Tuhan (Mahabbah), Menahawan Hawa Nafsu (Tarkussyahwat), Intropeksi Diri (muhasabatun nafs) dan Taubat (At-Taubah).

Abstract

Kajian ini membahas tentang makna meme pada kolom Sunday Meme di surat kabar Jawa Pos. Pembahasan utama yang dikaji adalah tentang makna semiotika yang digunakan dalam kolom meme hari Minggu di surat kabar Jawa Pos edisi Agustus-Oktober 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna semiotik meme pada kolom Sunday Meme di surat kabar Jawa Pos edisi Agustus-Oktober 2015. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori semiotika yang digunakan oleh Charles Sanders Pierce. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kualitatif berupa penelitian deskripsi atau studi pustaka. Objek penelitian ini adalah ikon meme yang dimuat pada kolom Sunday Meme di surat kabar Jawa Pos. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi yang dilakukan dengan cara mengumpulkan dan mempelajari sumber pustaka yang relevan dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna semiotik meme dalam kolom Sunday Meme memiliki variasi yang berbeda berdasarkan tema yang diterbitkan. Tema yang digunakan adalah, politik, pemerintahan, agama, ekonomi, dan bencana alam. Analisis meme dapat dilakukan dengan mengetahui konteks yang berkaitan dengan meme yang diterbitkan.
