Abstract

The low soybean production is caused by many limiting factors, including low soil fertility. This is influenced by the use of chemical fertilizers which is a trend among farmers. Therefore, to overcome the above problems is to utilize pineapple peel waste as a bio-activator and the addition of coconut shell biochar as a medium. This study aims to determine the effect of various concentrations of bioactivator waste from pineapple peels on growth, total chlorophyll content and soybean production. The method used is an experimental method carried out at the Green House of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. The design used was a factorial design (6x5) arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments. Treatment 1 was negative control (0%), treatment 2 positive control (EM4), treatment 3 bioactivators 10%, treatment 4 bioactivators 20%, treatment 5 bioactivators 30%, treatment 6 bioactivators 40%. Each treatment was repeated 5 times so that 30 experimental pots were needed. The results showed a significant effect on production at a concentration of 30%. Keywords : Soybean (Gycine max (L.) Abstract

Duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) is an endemic plant of Indonesia that has a distinctive taste and is beneficial in the health sector. Besides that, the demand for duku seeds is increasing, so it is proven by the rapid propagation technique on a large scale. This can be achieved through tissue culture techniques. This study aimed to determine the effect of the growth regulators 2,4-D and BAP on Folium explants and Petiolus communis explants in inducing shoots. Leaf explants and leaf stalks were initiated using WPM (Woody Plant Medium) media with 4 different combinations of concentrations of growth regulators 2,4-D and BAP consisting of 0.0 ppm (2.4-D) + 0.0 ppm (BAP); 0.2 ppm (2.4-D) + 2.0 ppm (BAP); 0.2 ppm (2.4-D) + 2.5 ppm (BAP); 0.2 ppm (2.4-D) + 3.0 ppm (BAP) -D) + 2.0 ppm (BAP) on Petiolus communis explants is the most optimal combination of growth regulators, this is indicated by the growth response of the explants, namely the formation of brownish yellow callus on the explants.

Abstract

Duku (Lansium domesticum. Corr) is one of the fruit plants that grows a lot in Indonesia, especially in South Sumatra. Duku fruit has a fairly high level of consumption but takes a long time to reproduce. Modern duku propagation is an effort that can be used to overcome problems that occur in conventional duku cultivation. One of the efforts to propagate duku in a modern way can be done through tissue culture techniques. Tissue culture techniques can produce plants in large quantities and have the same characteristics and characteristics as the parent. This research was conducted from September 2022 – November 2022, taking place in the tissue culture room, the Integrated Laboratory of Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with experimental method using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments (0.0 ppm, 1.0 ppm, 1.5 ppm, 2.0 ppm and 2.5 ppm) and 5 repetitions. This study was to determine the response of petiole and leaf bone explants to tuna induction by BAP hormone administration. The best research results were given a concentration of 1.0 ppm BAP with growth time at 7 HST with the formation of bulges (nodules) on the upper surface of the explants.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of various concentrations of betel leaf extract Wati (Piper methysticum G. Forst.) on the mortality rate of armyworm (Spodoptera litura F.) and to see which extract concentration is more effective in controlling armyworm pest (Spodoptera litura F.) in sweet potato (Hypere). This research was conducted from June to August 2019 at the Petra Baliem Wamena College of Agricultural Sciences Laboratory using a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. Tests using betel leaf extract (Yulliaoken) with a concentration of 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%. Measurements were made on the mortality rate of armyworms in the form of a percentage (%). This research was carried out through 2 stages, namely: the preliminary test stage and the follow-up test stage. The results showed that Wati betel leaf extract (Piper methysticum G. Forst.) can increase the mortality of armyworm pests (Spodoptera litura F.) by administering the extract through immersion so that through feed, Wati betel leaf extract has the potential to be a stomach poison. The most effective concentration of betel leaf extract in increasing the mortality of second instar armyworm caterpillars was at concentrations of 80% and 90% within 5 hours. Thus, Wati betel leaf extract can be used as an effective vegetable insecticide in increasing the mortality of armyworm pests.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the effectiveness of applying liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of curly chili plants. This study used 3 kinds of liquid organic fertilizer compositions, namely SA (70% vegetable liquid organic fertilizer and 30% animal liquid organic fertilizer) which is not pasteurized and SB (70% vegetable liquid organic fertilizer and 30% animal liquid organic fertilizer) pasteurized. The doses given to plants by spray are SA (2 ml/liter of water), SB1 (2 ml/liter of water) and SB2 (4 ml/liter of water). This study was repeated four times, then the data were analyzed using Anava. If there is a difference, the effect is then tested with a 5% LSD test. Research shows that the use of liquid organic fertilizer that is pasteurized with a concentration of 4 ml/l water (SB2) showed the best results for the height of plant, number of leaves, and number of chilies, while for the number of branches that used the pasteurized liquid fertilizer (SB1 and SB2) showed better results than the liquid fertilizer that is unpasteurized (SA). Keywords : Liquid Organic Fertilizer, Curly Chili
