Abstract

Indonesia's foreign policy on security, particularly in the South China Sea, is a multifaceted and successful strategy rooted in historical imperatives, geographical considerations, and principled values. This analysis employs a comprehensive methodology, encompassing an examination of Indonesia's historical pursuit of territorial integrity, its strategic geographic positioning, and the influence of core values in shaping foreign policy. By actively participating in regional and international forums, Indonesia employs active diplomacy, adheres to a policy of neutrality, and enforces maritime laws, contributing to conflict resolution and regional stability. Through a detailed analysis of its roles as a mediator, facilitator of maritime cooperation, promoter of international law, and key participant in regional initiatives, this study underscores Indonesia's significant impact on fostering peace and stability in the South China Sea. The examination of Indonesia's success lies in its ability to empower ASEAN, strengthen bilateral relations, and enhance maritime defense capabilities, all of which collectively contribute to the nation's pivotal role as a regional leader in shaping the geopolitical landscape of the South China Sea. Indonesia's foreign policy on security, especially in the South China Sea, emerges as a comprehensive and successful strategy, blending historical awareness, strategic positioning, principled values, and proactive engagement.

Abstract

Filipino passengers use Jeepneys as their primary mode of transportation in their everyday lives. However, as the world is trailing through an era of advancements, the modernization of public utility vehicles (PUV) is introduced to solve other societal problems. This study centered on the implementation, challenges, and repercussions of modernized jeepneys in the Philippines between four stakeholders involved: jeepneys operator/ driver, passenger, and implementer. The qualitative research design was utilized to gather data through key-informant interviews and archival research. The findings revealed that modernized e-jeepney positively affect the transportation system, with benefits such as reduced pollution, comfort, and job opportunities. Despite the myriad benefits associated, various stakeholders encounter significant challenges throughout its implementation, such as route rationalization, financial burden, and fierce competition.

Abstract

The pandemic has led researchers to reconsider traditional approaches, resulting in an increased dependence on digital platforms for data gathering, analysis, and dissemination. This qualitative study investigates the experiences and adaptations of Development Studies graduate and post-graduate students at Ateneo de Davao University in data gathering within a hybrid learning environment. The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated a shift from traditional face-to-face data collection methods to hybrid approaches, combining in-person and online learning modalities. Drawing on connectivism theory, the study explores how students navigate digital networks and adapt research methodologies to hybrid settings. Through Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), data were collected from three graduate and post-graduate students, focusing on modifications in data gathering strategies, challenges encountered, and comparisons with traditional methods. Thematic analysis revealed themes related to methodological changes, technological integration, and shifts in research experiences. While hybrid learning offers enhanced accessibility and flexibility, challenges include ensuring data reliability and addressing technological barriers.

Abstract

This study looks into how future math teachers solve problems when dealing with sequences. Data show a worrying trend: none of the respondents received a very high score, and more than 60% received a low grade. The biggest obstacle turned out to be harmonic sequences, indicating a critical knowledge gap. Even simple sequences, such as arithmetic sequences, could be challenging, especially when phrased issues and non-consecutive phrases were included. It's interesting to note that students started using online tools like YouTube lessons as part of a self-help movement. This, however, draws attention to a possible over-reliance on outside sources. The study highlights how crucial it is to reinforce fundamental information across a range of sequence types. Future math teachers can approach and solve sequence issues with more confidence if they have a solid grasp of the fundamentals and have conducted purposeful web research. This will ultimately result in more effective teaching methods.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality of tensile testing conducted at the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory of Politeknik Negeri Medan. Based on the results of attribute inspection, there were 42 units of material defects with a value of 0.124260355. The Upper Control Limit (UCL) was 0.415734865, and the Lower Control Limit (LCL) was 0.0167214 or 0. The subsequent check sheet showed that 34 test specimens did not meet the standard. The  value was 0.0100591716, the UCL was 0.03631557869, and the LCL was 0.00362 or 0. The next check sheet revealed 25 failed tests with a  value of 0.0073964497, a UCL of 0.0299413849, and an LCL of -0.0151484 or 0.
