East Asian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (EAJMR) is a scientific multidisciplinary research journal published by Yayasan Pendidikan Penelitian Pengabdian Algero. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication on adaptation, to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication on employee performance. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The population consists of active employees of PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) Sales I Region SUMBAGUT, with a total sample of 50 respondents taken through total sampling at PTPL Sales Region I SUMBAGUT in 2024. Data analysis was performed using single tables, cross tables, t-test, and the Coefficient of Determination. The results showed Interpersonal Communication Strategies resulted in four strategies: 1). SO (Strength-Opportunity) Strategy by enhancing interactive communication between employees and supervisors to utilize supervisors who openly accept employee feedback, 2). ST (Strength-Threat) Strategy by developing interactive communication to overcome difficulties in discussing work issues with supervisors, 3). WO (Weakness-Opportunity) Strategy by improving communication among employees by leveraging supervisors who openly accept feedback, and 4). WT (Weakness-Threat) Strategy by developing two-way communication to overcome difficulties in speaking and obtaining support from supervisors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how consumer loyalty is affected by brand trust and the marketing mix. In this study, one hundred respondents made up the sample. A survey approach was employed as the data gathering strategy, while a questionnaire served as the study instrument. The research's test findings made use of the Smartpls 4.1 programs' outer model, inner models, and hypothesis testing. The findings of this study demonstrate that: customer satisfaction influences customer loyalty positively and significantly; brand trust influences customer satisfaction positively and significantly; marketing mix influences customer satisfaction positively and significantly; and brand trust has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. Customer loyalty is strongly mediated by customer satisfaction when it comes to the impact of the marketing mix.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how employee engagement and self-efficacy affect employee performance through innovative work behavior at PT Asam Jawa Medan. It is categorized as quantitative descriptive research. The sample included 125 respondents selected using a non-probability sampling method. Data analysis was performed using both the outer model and inner model with the SmartPLS program. The results indicate that employee engagement, self-efficacy, and innovative work behavior positively and significantly impact employee performance. However, employee engagement has a negative and insignificant effect on innovative work behavior and does not significantly influence employee performance through innovative work behavior.

Abstract

The movie dialogue from Hidden Figure is used in the present research. Published in 2016, this is an American motion picture. Theodore Melfi was the director of this movie. The same-titled novel served as the inspiration for this movie. The lives of three African-American women who work at NASA are chronicled in this movie. Theodore Melfi was the director of this movie.As a minority, they are positioned. By using Norman Fairlough's critical discourse theory, the researchers in the present research wanted to analyze this movie. The primary source of data for the present research is the dialogue used in the movie. The approach used to get meaning from this movie is the descriptive qualitative method. The findings from the research demonstrate that colored people in America continue to face a great deal of discrimination. However, two philosophies are represented in this movie: the philosophy of ideology of feminism.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of environmental awareness, consumption values, and price perception on the purchase intention of Avoskin green skincare products. The sample consists of 100 respondents who are followers of the Rubi Community on Instagram and have never purchased Avoskin products. Data was collected through a survey using a questionnaire. The research instrument was proven valid and reliable, and the data was normally distributed without issues of multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity. The results indicate that environmental awareness, consumption values, and price perception each have a positive and significant influence on the purchase intention of Avoskin green skincare products.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how the Yogyakarta-based Eiger Adventure brand's image, trust, and satisfaction affect customer loyalty. Conducted by distributing questionnaires to 100 customers, the research used a quantitative approach to examine causal relationships, employing descriptive analysis, inferential analysis, and t-tests. Brand loyalty is unaffected by brand image, according to the findings. However, brand trust positively and significantly influences brand loyalty, showing that higher trust leads to greater loyalty to Eiger Adventure. Additionally, brand satisfaction also positively and significantly impacts brand loyalty, meaning customer satisfaction with Eiger Adventure's products and services enhances their loyalty. Although brand image did not have a substantial influence on consumer loyalty, the research does highlight the significance of trust and happiness with the brand.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the impact of integrated marketing communications, perceived quality, and brand awareness on Scarlett skincare brand equity. This study includes a sample of 100 respondents who used Scarlett skincare. The sampling technique was determined by purposive sampling.  Data collection in this study was done using survey method, with a questionnaire as the research instrument. The data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression. This research produces that Integrated Marketing Communication, Perceived Quality and Brand awareness has a positive and significant impact on Scarlett skincare brand equity.

Abstract

This research investigates the role of community empowerment in enhancing food security within urban areas, focusing on the development of the Juma Cindai Agroeducation Garden in Cinta Damai Village, Medan, Indonesia. Utilizing qualitative methodologies, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings highlight that unifying scattered farmer groups into the Juma Cindai Agroeducation Group significantly improved the efficiency and effectiveness of empowerment programs. Regular community discussions and FGDs facilitated the planning and implementation of relevant activities, such as hydroponics training. Positive community responses and active participation indicated a successful empowerment initiative. Intensive monitoring and evaluation ensured the program's alignment with its objectives, fostering technical skill development and social mindset shifts toward sustainable agriculture. The study concludes that structured community empowerment through urban agriculture can effectively enhance food security, economic independence, and community resilience against urbanization's impacts.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of Medan City Regional Regulation No. 2 Year 2022 on the Implementation of Libraries and its effectiveness in realizing the objectives of library services in Medan City. Utilizing qualitative research methods, the study analyzes data from interviews, observations, and documentation to assess policy implementation based on Van Mater Van Hord's theory, focusing on policy size and objectives, resources, communication, and environmental factors. Findings indicate that the regulation has positively impacted library services, encouraging reading habits and knowledge dissemination through various programs and innovations, such as mobile libraries and digital initiatives. The Medan City Library and Archives Office, supported by 67 staff members and adequate financial resources, has effectively utilized inter-organizational communication to coordinate efforts. Despite challenges like limited staff, the economic, social, and political environments remain supportive, with no significant obstacles. The implementation also includes digitalization efforts like the e-pada application, aimed at increasing public access to information and mitigating the adverse effects of social media.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the conceptualisation of drug metaphors in YouTube news. This type of research includes qualitative research which is descriptive analysis. This research method uses the methods of listening, engaging, and discoursing. The advanced technique uses the comparative equating technique to determine the correspondence between metaphorical expressions and the cognitive function of metaphors. The results of this study reveal that ontological metaphors are more dominant in YouTube news compared to structural metaphors and orientational metaphors. The narrator conceptualises more physical things for abstract things. The metaphors contained in the drug news were found to be 2 structural metaphors, 3 orientational metaphors, and 12 ontological metaphors.
