Abstract

This study overviews the incorporation of environmental education within the senior phase curriculum in three selected primary schools in a district situated in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. By examining the implementation process, pedagogical approaches, and perceived outcomes, this study aims to provide comprehensive insights into the effectiveness of incorporating environmental education at this educational level. The study involved three purposively selected grade 7 teachers as participants. Through a multiple case study design, the study explores the alignment of environmental education with broader educational goals, the challenges encountered, and the strategies teachers employ. Qualitative data were collected through interviews and classroom observations. The study demonstrated that teachers encountered fundamental challenges incorporating environmental education in the senior phase. These challenges include inadequate resources, time constraints within an already demanding curriculum, teacher preparedness, and the need for innovative assessment methods. The findings contribute to the localized context and offer valuable implications for enhancing environmental education incorporation in senior phases across diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This research investigated how AI technologies can change education, focusing on personalized experiences, adaptive systems, and integrating AI tools in teaching practices. A mixed-method research design was applied, using both surveys and interviews to gain data from teachers concerning their views on generative artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for their teaching practice. The study concludes that there is a range of teachers' familiarity with generative AI, indicating an optimistic perspective despite challenges such as training gaps and technological barriers. This report reveals that the successful implementation of AI technology in their work demands support and constant professional development programs. Age-related discrepancies were uncovered among the respondents, necessitating specialized training to handle different requirements across various ages. Inclusion in educational environments requires collaboration among teachers, policymakers, and artificial intelligence developers. It is recommended that future studies should include longitudinal impact assessment, comparative analysis of AI tools, cross-cultural exploration of AI adoption, investment in infrastructure policies that might promote the use of ICTs in education as well as development policies relating to technology yet this work adds to the existing literature on AI integration by providing insights for educators, policymakers, researchers who want to leverage the potentials of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for improved teaching-learning process.

Abstract

Graduate education is crucial for national progress and modernization, as it trains, educates, and develops a workforce capable of empowering human life and responding to changing societal needs. The study examined students' expectations of employment opportunities, focusing on high demand and expected growth rates. A descriptive research design was utilized using a survey questionnaire to gather the needed data. The study was conducted at a Polytechnic College in La Union, Philippines during the first semester of the 2019 – 2020 academic year, with a total sample size of 73. The study revealed that the M.A. graduates were mostly married females aged 36-40 handling Teacher II positions. However, challenges like time constraints, distance, and excessive paperwork necessitate program improvements. A Polytechnic College in La Union, Philippines should regularly follow up with M.A. graduates, enhance faculty training, provide scholarship grants, offer affordable options, update graduate programs, and improve physical facilities and resources.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the biggest gaming markets in the world. Most mobile or video games are played via mobile phones, tablets, or consoles. According to a data report from We Are Social, Indonesia is a country with the third largest number of video game players in the world, 94.5%. This study aimed to discover more about the influence of online games on adolescent emotions at one of the junior high schools in Sepatan, Tangerang, Indonesia. The research design used in this study is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. The sample used amounted to 172 respondents. The data analysis used in this study is Kendall's tau-b correlation test, which looks at the correlation coefficient value. The results of this study show that students' use of online games is in the moderate category (76.7%), and emotions are in the low category (65.1%). In the statistical test results obtained, p.value = 0.000 ≤ 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that online games significantly influence adolescent emotions.

Abstract

In this study, the researcher determined the level of acceptability by students of the START Approach as utilized in a community extension. To do this, the researcher identified the attributes of the approach based on the literature and developed a survey questionnaire. The survey questionnaire was validated by experts in the field and was administered digitally to target respondents in January 2024. Salient findings showed that students rated the approach as highly acceptable in general, with a weighted mean of 3.57 in a scale of 4. The students claimed that the approach is flexible, practical, and doable, among other favorable attributes. Further, they claimed that the approach could be used to teach science investigatory projects. This pioneering approach has been developed as a potential extension tool with a wide range of areas of utilization even in fisheries research education.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an appropriate standard instrument that can measure the influence of link and match learning and the availability of practical laboratory facilities on the quality of vocational school graduates. This instrument was prepared because no standard instrument based on this activity would theoretically improve the quality of vocational school graduates. The quality of graduates from an educational institution, including vocational schools, is influenced, among other things, by the competence of teachers, students, materials, methods, facilities and infrastructure, educational environment, curriculum, and costs. This research used a quantitative approach using survey research model with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis techniques. Factor analysis in this research used Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with the help of Lisrel 8.80 full version. The measurement model is based on Goodness of Fit criteria, namely, to test the suitability of the theoretical model with empirical data. The instrument is valid to measure the influence of link and match learning and the availability of practical laboratory facilities on the quality of vocational school graduates.

Abstract

The 2019 Philippine Statistics Authority report on education equality in the Philippines based on CHED data shows that more females were getting advanced degrees than males. This study aimed to determine the gender correlates on knowledge, skills, and competencies (KSC) gained and the impact of a graduate degree on the graduates of a College in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Specifically, a comparison of the KSC gained, and the impact of their graduate degree on the personal lives and careers of male and female graduates was performed. Findings reveal no significant difference in the KSC gained and the impact of a graduate degree on the male and female graduates, except on interdisciplinary learning, with females being more knowledgeable in this area. In terms of effects, males experienced a higher impact on their graduate degrees than females in most areas of their personal lives and careers. However, statistically, such a difference was not significant. The researcher concluded that interdisciplinary learning is the only gender correlate for KSC and none for the impact of a graduate degree earned at a College in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. It is recommended that this study be replicated with more indicators for KSC and the impact and inclusion of other factors for the revised graduate school curricula.
