Abstract

The learning process in the classroom still tend to focus on the teacher, causing less students are actively involved in the learning process seen in the number of students who ask and answer questions that lead to low test score is below standard. Application of group investigation learning model was expected to improve the mastery of concepts and creative thinking of students. This research aimed to determine the influence of the learning model group investigation to the mastery of concept environment pollution  and creative thinking in high school student of class X. Abstract

The following variables will be examined in this research to determine their respective influences: (1) the direct impact of stress on academic performance; (2) the direct impact of stress on self-management; (3) the direct impact of procrastination on academic performance; (4) the direct impact of procrastination on self-management; and (5) the direct impact of self-management on academic performance. Explanatory research is the methodology utilized in the study to explain the variables examined and provide a causal relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. This research examines the direct and indirect effects of stress, work, and procrastination on Self-Management and Academic Performance. The sample in this research was lecturers from the University in Serang City, Indonesia. Remember the population of around 100-200 people. Then, for technique, data collection uses a saturated (complete) sample, where all populations make a sample. The tools used in this research, apart from computers (laptops), are (1) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and (2) Smart-PLS 3.2.9 Professional. Results: The research involved 110 respondents in a study. In part, most respondents are in a group aged 31-40 years, with as many as 48 lecturers (43.64 %). Sex between men and women was almost balanced, with men at 57 (51.82 %) and women at 53 (48.18 %). Qualification _ There were 103 postgraduate academics (93.64%) and seven postgraduate academics (6.36%). Statistical test results show that stress positively affects academic performance, indicated by a parameter coefficient of 0.053. Thus, the hypothesis (H1) cannot be accepted: Stress has a positive but insignificant effect on academic performance. Hypothesis 2 (H2): Procrastination positively affects Academic Performance, indicated by a parameter coefficient of 0.054. Thus, the hypothesis can be accepted: Procrastination has a positive but insignificant effect on Academic Performance. Hypothesis 3 (H3): Stress positively affects self-management; this is indicated by a parameter coefficient of 0.482. Thus, the hypothesis can be accepted: Stress positively and significantly affects Self-Management. Hypothesis 4 (H4): Procrastination positively affects self-management, indicated by a parameter coefficient of 0.324. Thus, the hypothesis can be accepted: Procrastination positively and significantly affects academic performance. Hypothesis 5 (H5): Self-management positively affects academic performance, indicated by a parameter coefficient of 0.809. Thus, the hypothesis can be accepted: Self-Management positively and significantly affects Academic Performance.

Abstract

Nurses working in the ER and caring for CHF patients in the emergency room, where life-threatening illnesses are cared for, must always be highly skilled and proactive. Hence, a study aimed to explore the lived experiences of emergency room nurses caring for patients with congestive heart failure and its implications for health education as a phenomenological study. The Husserlian method was used among ten (10) participants chosen through purposeful sampling. The results show that most nurses are stressed, ill-experienced, and less skilled, which led to the conclusion that nurses need a charge-up to enhance both physical skills and relieve emotional stress. This implies that more training and skill acquisition seminars should be introduced to hospitals and institutional curricula to make ER nurses more competent and ready to face life-threatening conditions like CHF. Some implications to the health education including improved training programs, curriculum development, support systems in education, emphasis on disease knowledge, empathy and patient education, and building resilience.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the "learning loss" resulting from recent academic disruptions. This study used a classroom action research, utilizing peer tutoring as the primary intervention amidst various psychological factors. The pretest identifies ten least-mastered mathematics skills, including simplifying numerical expressions, operations on integers, converting fractions to decimals, ordering rational numbers, and solving word problems. Challenges are also noted in approximating volume and area, understanding angles, and interpreting graphical data. Focus group discussions highlight the positive feedback for the intervention and factors contributing to learning loss, such as limited study time, connectivity issues, social media distractions, poor study habits, and math difficulties. Implementing tutorial intervention before the post-test effectively addresses learning loss and significantly reduces learning gaps.

Abstract

Gender equality as a sustainable development goal is hoped to neutralize the influence of gender differences in all development sectors, including education. This region-wide survey among elementary school administrators (n=1626) in the Philippines revealed that the ratio of female-to-male administrators is 2:1. Profiling of the target respondents showed that more women finished their doctoral degrees and that the majority of the administrators are non-holders of a principal position for both genders and that both genders only have their highest level of relevant training and professional affiliation at the 'division level,' with very limited participation to international level. Further, statistical analysis showed that gender and school geography have a highly significant correlation, though the strength of the association is weak. Furthermore, gender correlates with age, civil status, highest educational attainment, and none with others, while geography correlates with the highest professional training and affiliation. The computed means of the school success indicators are high. However, none correlate with either gender and geography, except for average monthly MOOE utilization, which shows a highly significant correlation with geography, implying that schools in rural areas have lower utilization than those in urban areas. Interestingly, though the association is 'weak,' analysis shows that male administrators are associated with higher promotion rates, completion rates, mean percentage scores, and average monthly MOOE utilization. Policy recommendations are provided to address the issues found.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop a Canva quiz-based mathematics learning media tested on simple fraction material in grade III elementary schools. The type of research used is Research and Development (RD) research, using learning material instruments, tests, and 4D development models (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). Based on the analysis results, including media expert validation, material expert validation, and user validation, it can be concluded that the development of Canva quiz-based media can improve the learning process. This is taken from the results of media validation, obtained good qualifications with an average score of 95.5% (valid), and has material aspects on mathematics problems received good qualifications with an average score of 88%. In the questionnaire results, teachers obtained good qualifications with an average 92% (valid) score. Therefore, the development of canva quiz-based learning media can be used to improve the mathematics learning process in grade III elementary schools.

Abstract

Being a working student is challenging as they must balance school and work responsibilities. This study aimed to explore the lived experiences of working students in a private higher education institution in the province of La Union, Philippines, during COVID-19. The study is qualitative research, specifically descriptive phenomenology. A purposive sampling technique was used for the selection of participants. A semi-structured interview was used to generate data from 10 participants. Further, thematic analysis was utilized where three major themes emerged: (1) Experiencing the Tidal Rise and Fall of Work-Study Balance, (2) Anchored Expectations and Pressure, and (3) Coping Up and Sailing with the Wind. Ethics were strictly observed in the study. The study revealed that their circumstances form valuable experiences as young adults as they learn to become responsible individuals. They cope by making the necessary adjustments to their schedule, perspective, self-management skills, and formation of support they get from people. They continue the odyssey with burning motivation to strike a work-study balance, hence, highly commendable.
