Jurnal Gesture Seni Tari ini memuat tentang penulisan ilmiah dan penelitian seni tari tradisi dan tari non tradisi di Nusantara, hingga menyinggung persoalan-persoalan yang terkait dengan perkembangan pendidikan seni tari pada abad ini. Sebagai Jurnal Seni yang hadir ditengah-tengah lembaga Prodi Pendidikan Seni Tari; dalam hal ini jurnal gesture akan selalu konsisten untuk berupaya menampung segala bentuk karya tulis ilmiah yang berkaitan dengan bidang (Pengajaran, Pengkajian, Penyajian, Penciptaan, dan Pengelolaan) di Pendidikan Tari FBS Unimed.

Abstract

ABSTRACT - This study aims to package the Mak Inang Pak Malau dance learning according to KD 3.1, namely understanding the concepts, techniques, and procedures in imitating the basic movements of dance, in the form of Audio Visual learning media for high school class X students. The theoretical foundation that is used as a guideline in this study is the theory of Arianty et al, (2016: 106), the theory of Rayandra Asyhar (2012: 45) and Sumarno (2011: 23) which explain how the stages or procedures in making audio visual media. The data in this study are in the form of literature and field studies. Literature study is reading references in the form of books, journals / articles and research results. Meanwhile, field data were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The packaging method uses computer laboratory work. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of data processing are arranged systematically in the form of a thesis. The research process or packaging method is carried out in three stages, namely: the first stage of preparation, which is to prepare everything related to research before the shooting process. The second stage of implementation / presentation (production) is the start of the process of shooting or taking videos that will be used as media. The third or final stage is the follow-up, where in this process the media is checked again before it is packaged in the form of a VCD (Video Compact Disc). In this stage, a trial was also held by conducting a material feasibility test and a media feasibility test, making revisions, then being ready for use. This product obtained the results of the feasibility test with a score of 4.77 by the material expert and the results of the due diligence with a score of 4.87 by the media expert. The percentage of eligibility for material experts was 95% and the percentage of eligibility for media experts was 97%. Thus, the results of research on the packaging of the Mak Inang Pak Malau dance in Audio Visual learning media include material understanding concepts, techniques, and procedures for grade X high school students in Medan which are deemed very suitable for use. Keywords: Packaging, Mak Inang Pak Malau Dance, Audio Visual.ABSTRAK - Penelitian ini bertujuan mengemas pembelajaran Tari Mak Inang Pak Malau sesuai KD 3.1 yaitu memahami konsep, teknik, dan prosedur dalam meniru gerak dasar tari, dalam bentuk media pembelajaran Audio Visual untuk siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas. Landasan teori yang dijadikan pedoman pada penelitian ini adalah teori Arianty dkk, (2016:106), teori  Rayandra Asyhar (2012: 45) beserta Sumarno (2011: 23) yang menjelaskan bagaimana tahapan atau prosedur dalam pembuatan media audio visual. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa studi pustaka dan studi lapangan. Studi pustaka yaitu membaca referensi berupa buku, jurnal/artikel dan hasil penelitian. Sementara data-data lapangan dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Metode pengemasan menggunakan kerja laboratorium komputer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil pengolahan data disusun secara sistematis dalam bentuk skripsi. Proses penelitian atau metode pengemasan dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan yakni: tahapan pertama persiapan, yaitu menyiapkan segala sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan penelitian sebelum proses syuting. Tahapan kedua pelaksanaan/penyajian (produksi) yaitu mulainya proses syuting atau pengambilan video yang akan dijadikan media. Tahap ketiga atau terakhir yaitu Tindak Lanjut, dimana dalam proses ini media dicek kembali sebelum dikemas dalam bentuk VCD (Video Compact Disc). Dalam tahap ini juga diadakan uji coba dengan dilakukannya uji kelayakan materi dan uji kelayakan media, melakukan revisi, kemudian siap digunakan. Produk ini memperoleh hasil uji kelayakan dengan skor 4.77 oleh ahli materi dan hasil uji kelayakan dengan skor 4.87 oleh ahli media. Persentasi kelayakan ahli materi adalah 95% dan persentase kelayakan ahli media adalah 97%. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian pengemasan pembelajaran Tari Mak Inang Pak Malau dalam media pembelajaran Audio Visual meliputi materi memahami konsep, teknik, dan prosedur untuk siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas di Medan dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan.  Kata Kunci: Pengemasan, Tari Mak Inang Pak Malau, Audio Visual.

Abstract

Trade sianak plate swing dance is one dance originating from the Minangkabauthat developed in the city of Medan. The purpose of this study is to discuss theswing sianak Plate Dance Choreographers Trade Iskandar Muda views fromForm, Top Design, Design Floor.In the discussion of this study used the theories related to the topic of study suchas the Theory of Forms of Sal Murgiyanto Dance, Top of the Design Theory andDesign Theory Sudarsono floor of La MeriWhen the study to discuss Plate Dance Dance Choreographer swing sianak TradeIskandar Muda was conducted for two months. Place of research conducted at theStudio Dance Medan State University Faculty of Language and Art jl. IskandarWilliam. Data collection techniques including observation, interviews, literaturestudies and doumentasi, which is then analyzed by qualitative descriptive method.Based on the results of research conducted showed that dance Lenggo plate sianakthis trade is a dance that takes the movements of the Minang community activitiesare generally farmers, and developed into a new creation dance. There aremovements born / inspired by the movements of the flora, fauna and koreomatik.Form of motion which is divided into three energy intensity (weak, medium,strong), space (small and large), and time (slow medium, fast). There are 8 designon frequent / dominant in this dance that Spiral design, symmetrical,asymmetrical, curved, delayed, flat, low, and advanced. There are two designs onthe dance floor that occurred of which this is the floor design of straight lines andcurved lines flooring design. This dance had several times shown by the studiowidatra overseas parts of Asia and Europe, namely: Performance CompetitionCultural North Sumatra on "44" in Debrecen Flower Carnival in on Hungary andBelgrade Serbia Central Europe, and IMT-GT Prince of Songkla University ofThailand, performances which was attended by three countries, namely Malaysia,Thailand and Indonesia Hence dance swing plate sianak this trade very existencein the city of Medan. There are designs and forms of motion which draw heavilyon swing dance sianak Trade Plates Choreographer's Iskandar Muda.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe Educational Values in Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung. Theories used in this study include value theory and educational theory. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The population of this research are South Tapanuli people in Mabar Hilir and Deli Serdang, and the sample of this research are 3 South Tapanuli people in Deli Serdang and Mabar Hilir. In the discussion of this study as for the focus of my research is using the theory of religious values according to Abdul (2012: 129) and moral values according to Sutardjo (2011: 54). This study aims to describe the educational values in Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung. Data collection in this research is done by observation method, interview, documentation, and analysis technique. This study discusses the explanation of the values of education contained in Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung for dancers and the public to know that in a dance there are also good values that can be a positive value in everyday life and can be used as material teachers for learners. The results of the research can be seen that in Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung, contained the values of education in which viewed from the pattern of motion, fashion, music, and rules. The values are peeled through religious values and moral values which can then be used as a source of information to the community and the dancers that there are values that can be used as learning can also be used as teacher material for learners. Keyword: Value, Education, Religious Value, Moral Value, Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung.

Abstract

Tatak Siar–Siaren adalah salah satu jenis tari pada masyarakat Pakpak di wilayah Bharat. Sebelum masuknya agama, masyarakat Pakpak Bharat mempercayai roh-roh nenek moyang sehingga mereka mempercayai tindakan-tindakan yang di lakukan di dalam Tatak Siar-Siaren. Tatak Siar-Siaren selalu di lakukan untuk mengetahui keadaan kampung pada masa yang akan datang. Masuknya agama sekitar tahun 800 M, menyebabkan Tatak Siar-siaren jarang di tampilkan, karena bertentangan dengan ajaran agama. Sejak tahun 1986, Tatak Siar–Siaren muncul kembali tetapi bentuk penyajiannya mengalami perubahan.   Kata kunci : Tatak, sejarah, bentuk penyajian.

Abstract

                                                                     ABSTRACT The results of the research based on the data obtained show that in the process of implementing the ceremony of rejecting the dance of Dakdeng dance present in the middle of the implementation becomes one of the important parts that must be carried out because the Dakdeng dance becomes a means of entry of supernatural spirits called Mambang which is the spirit of the ancestors of their descendents . Mambang's spirits entering the body of the family and community will dance during the process of rejecting reinforcements. There are differences in the movements and character of the Dakdeng dance between one dancer to the other. Because every Mambang who possesses the body of a family or a number of people who become dancers has a different character. Different character can be seen from Mambang Buaya who is angry when he feels disturbed, Mambang Knight is able to control emotions when there are other Mambang who unintentionally interfere, Blind Mambang has a sensitive mood, Mambang Leaders have a strict, hard and responsible nature, Mambang Penangis the loner and likes to cry, Mambang Macan is quiet and calm, Mambang Jelita is cheerful and encourages the other Mambang to dance, Mambang Galak is very angry when he sees the audience recording with his cellphone camera, Mambang Iba is gentle and a loner, Mambang Berdembah covers the genitals and is happy approaching with other Mambang spirits, Shy Mambang does not want to show his face in public and cover it with a scarf. Judging from the different character of Mambang, the movements performed are also different according to the wishes of each Mambang.                                                                                    Keywords: Movement, Character, Dakdeng Dance, Mambang.

Abstract

This  research  is  a  study  about  Tor-tor Manilpokkon Hasaya  in  Horja  Godang Ceremony from  South Tapanuli Society Against Presentation Form. The purpose of this  study  was  to  describe  the  form of presentation  and   meaning of Tor- tor Manilpokkon symbols this Hasaya. In the results of this study the authors used several theories that support the research  topics       include the theory  of form,  meaning theory,  the theory of symbols, the  meanning of Tor to r, system theory and the meanning of traditional ceremonies. The time which used in this study to discuss about Tor-tor Hasaya Manilpokkon this for two months, start from   July to Setember 2014. The research is in the village Wood Ombun South Tapanuli. The population in this study are some of the traditional leaders Angkola communities who lived         in the Padangsidempuan city, organizing  ceremonies,  relatives  and  family  as  panortor.  The sample  in this stu dy  are traditional leaders,  some of  traditional family or party organizers family. D ata collectiont echnique ar, interviews, literature study and documentation, and then analysis with qualitative methods . According to the research which have done can be seen that Tor-tor manilpokkon hasaya describes gratitude and thanks to the fine spirit for having launched their celebration.In tor-tor is no accompaniment  lyrics  devoted to this hasaya but the panortor said Bellak-lell ak that has meaning thanks to the fine spirit and manilpokkon hasaya (buffalo cutter) as its symbol.   Keywords: Tor-tor Manilpokkon Hasaya

Abstract

ABSTRACT-This study aims to describe the professional stimuli in using property in learning Malay dance creations in SMP Negeri 5 Medan. The theory used in this research is the professional excitatory theory and property theory. Professional stimulation according to Smith in Suharto (1985: 23), namely "the arable dance is the result of thought of imagination and pouring a visualized in accordance with the idea of the dance stylist". Property according to Endo (2006: 104) "is a tool that is used (driven in dancing." The population in this study was students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 5 Medan and the sample was students of class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 5 Medan, with a total of 34 The methodology in this research was carried out by direct observation, documentation, literature study and assessment using rubrics.The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive.In the SMP Negeri 5 Medan school, the professional stimuli in learning Malay dance creations in class VIII-A were already This is because the students are able to develop ideas and ideas in making / working on dance moves with the Lancang Kuning music accompaniment using properties namely shawls and sticks.The observation of these values can be seen based on the rubric assessment with the results of individual scores with the assessment components of creativity, wiraga , wirama and wirasa get an average value 80.56, with the predicate "Good (80-90)" as many as 20 students and if presented is 58.83%, while the group assessment with the highest score achieved by group 1 is 93.75, this is because the calculation of scores based on aspects of the assessment of cooperation, floor patterns, and uniformity gets a score of 4 (very good). The explanation above shows that the teacher of the field of study has succeeded in teaching the method / material "Professional stimuli by using shawl and stick properties in producing simple choreography". Keywords: Professional stimuli, property     ABSTRAK-Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan rangsang idesional dalam menggunakan properti pada pembelajaran tari kreasi Melayu di SMP Negeri 5 Medan. Teori yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah teori rangsang idesional dan teori properti. Rangsang idesional menurut Smith dalam Suharto (1985: 23) yaitu “garapan tari merupakan hasil pemikiran dari imajinasi dan penuangan rasa yang divisualisasikan sesuai dengan ide penata tari”. Properti menurut Endo (2006: 104) “adalah suatu alat yang digunakan (digerakkan dalam menari.” Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Medan dan sampelnya adalah peserta didik kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 5 Medan, dengan jumlah 34 peserta didik. Metodelogi dalam  penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara observasi langsung, dokumentasi, studi kepustakaan dan penilaian dengan menggunakan rubrik. Teknik analisis datanya adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Pada sekolah SMP Negeri 5 Medan, rangsang idesional pada pembelajaran tari Kreasi Melayu di kelas VIII-A sudah tercapai. Hal ini dikarenakan para siswa mampu untuk mengembangkan ide dan gagasannya dalam membuat/menggarap gerak tari dengan iringan musik Lancang Kuning menggunakan properti yakni selendang dan tongkat. Pengamatan nilai tersebut dapat dilihat berdasarkan penilaian rubrik dengan hasil perolehan nilai individu dengan komponen penilaian kreativitas, wiraga, wirama dan wirasa mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 80.56, dengan predikat “Baik (80-90)” sebanyak 20 siswa dan jika dipersentasikan adalah 58.83%, sedangkan penilaian kelompok dengan nilai tertinggi diraih oleh kelompok 1 yaitu 93.75, hal ini dikarenakan perhitungan skor yang berdasarkan aspek penilaian kerjasama, pola lantai, dan keseragaman mendapat skor 4 (sangat baik). Penjelasan di atas menunjukkan bahwa guru bidang studi telah berhasil dalam mengajarkan metode/materi “Rangsang Idesional dengan menggunakan properti selendang dan tongkat dalam menghasilkan koreografi yang sederhana”. Kata Kunci : Rangsang Idesional, Properti

Abstract

Tortor Martumba in Pesisir Sibolga is an entertainment dance in Toba Batak society in Independence Day event, welcoming important guests, to the entertainment and performing arts.This study examines the existence Tortor Martumba on ethnic Batak Toba in Pesisir Sibolga aim is to discuss about the existence, usability, functionality and form of presentation used .Teori theories related to the topic of research is the understanding of the existence, terms of usability, function theory and the theory of forms of presentation. The study was conducted in December 2015 through February 2016 in a village of the District Tukka Tukka Onan, and sample, including traditional leaders, artists in the District Middle Tapanuli. Data collection techniques including observation, interviews, literature study and documentation. Based on the results of research in the Coastal Sibolga Tortor Martumba that Tortor Martumba is Tortor of Batak Toba and danced by the Batak Toba ethnic communities in the Coastal Sibolga. This dance is there because people were resettled to the Batak Toba Coastal region Sibolga to continue to implement the customs they do in the place of origin is doing Tortor Martumba. Presence can be seen from the usability and functionality as entertainment welcoming distinguished guests, as an extracurricular learning materials in schools, as entertainment for the community as well as race. Tortor Martumba form of presentation can be seen from the simple movements and traditions that sombah movement, movement clapping, holding hands, jumping, lifting the legs, which is used Ulos clothing, makeup wearing natural makeup, singing music contained internal rhyme blared. In the presentation Tortor Martumba not use the theme, just do for entertainment.

Abstract

This study discusses the Tortor Mangiligi In Ceremony Sayur Matua At Simalungun Society Study on the Social Value.To discuss the above research purposes, used theories related to the research topic, such as Tortor understanding, understanding Sayur Matua, Social Values and Implementation Process.When the study are used in discussing Tortor Mangiligi In Ceremony Sayur Matua At Simalungun Society Study on Social Values for 3 (three) months, namely in June to August 2016. The study site is Dalig Raya, Pematang Raya, Simalungun. The population in this study is the traditional leaders of society Simalungun, Tortor Mangiligi video documentation, as well as actors in the ceremony  Tortor Mangiligi Sayur Matua.Analisis data in this study using descriptive qualitative data collection techniques with literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation.The results showed that, Tortor Mangiligi implemented as a form of respect for his children for services, kindness and hard work to his parents, and as a family party of gratitude to our Creator for longevity given to the parents of the deceased. Through the stages of planning to carry out the funeral ceremony event Sayur Matua up the process of implementation, the envisaged role of the alliance system that is ToluSahundulan and Lima Simelungun Saodaran. They are incorporated in the kinship system is an integral and inseparable relationship brotherly rope while their parents died, and they intertwined relationship between good communication, mutual respect, love, and cooperation in the success of traditional events Sayur Matua death                          Keywords: Tortor Mangiligi, Sayur Matua ceremony, Social Values

Abstract

Tapanuli Selatan adalah salah satu Kabupaten yang berada di wilayah Propinsi Sumatera Utara. Etnis yang berasal dari kabupaten ini disebut etnis Batak Mandailing, yang memiliki berbagai kegiatan adat. Horja godang adalah sebuah pesta adat  upacara perkawinan masyarakat Tapanuli Selatan, dimana aktifitas kesenian disertakan (margondang) yang  disertai dengan manortor (menari). Tortor yang ditarikan pada kegiatan ini ada beberapa tahap yaitu tortor Suhut Bolon, Tortor Kahanggi, Tortor Anak Boru, Tortor Raja-raja Torbing Balok, Tortor Panusunan Bulung, Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung, dan Tortor Manora Pule. Pada penyajiannya, panortor ditentukan oleh system kekerabatan (dalihan na tolu) termasuk urutan tortor yang harus dilakukan.   Kata kunci : tor-tor, horja godang, margondang
